What are people saying about Sim Aquarium PLATINUM

GoodNPlenty I'm unable to get the trial version to work on Windows 8 using a GeForce GTX 770 video card. When I click preview in the screen saver setup nothing happens and when I run SimAquarium3-LiveDesktop.exe I get a message box with the number 2 followed by a message box with error #174.

Daniel Gaudet I just purchased Sim Aquarium. As mentioned, I received 4 keys. Can someone confirm that I only need one key to enable it on all the desktops in the house?

The fine print includes the following:

Sim Aquarium Premium is licensed for family use, so everyone in a household can use the software.

Each license allows installation on all owned computers, and Sim Aquarium Premium may be used at exactly the same time on each of them.

Does that mean that I have extra keys?

Thanks!

You can use one key code on all your computers and share the rest.

Yfor Simply beautiful. However, I have two monitors and the controls only show up on the secondary monitor (which has a different resolution) and I can't type or control anything on it. I had to disconnect the second monitor in order to register the software.I can't customize anything unless I disconnect the second monitor (even though the aquarium itself seems to work great and extends across both). I have an NVidia GT270 with the latest drivers.
Thank you.

_*_ @Ladislav, I am unsure what this statement means at the bottom of the software description.

"Please note folks: the license offered today is the lifetime license for all software from Digital Illusions and includes three additional keys which can be shared!"

It is the section that says ""lifetime license for ALL software from Digital Illusions"

Does this mean with this deal it comes with...

- Sim Aquarium III
- Sim Aquarium Coral Reef
- Sim Aquarium Sharks
- Sim Aquarium Clown Fish
- Sim Aquarium Jellyfish
- Lifetimes License for all the above (plus 3 additional lifetime codes for the above)

I am unsure what it all comes with in the offer.

Thank you

Craig S. I have tried 3 times to purchase this today, and each time I get the following message, along with a confirmation number:
"Dear Customer,
We were unable to verify that the information you entered on the order form is valid. If you have not received notification within 24 hours, please contact our customer service department for assistance."

I get the same message whether I try to use PayPal or use a credit card. So now I've entered my credit card information, and I have nothing to show for it other than giving up my card number. This makes me a bit nervous...thanks for your prompt attention.

brProblem solved! Un-installed, re-activated and rebooted, now it's working just fine.
br
brWhat i really like is that when you start a program the wallpaper stops running, thus not eating resources!
br
brTip for next version:
brI like to see a monitor setup where you can chose where to put the wallpaper/screensaver. Like monitor 1, monitor 2 or monitor 1+2.....

Amit 1 Can, the full registered version, after buying this, be used on all computers in the family house, as per the fine print terms ? and that too with just 1 key for all computers in the house. and here we are getting 3 or 4 keys, which means 3 additional keys for total 3 families ?

2 And can I see the sharks or whales at will, anytime - how to bring them on screen ? And note I am not talking to see the normal fishes but sharks.

3. And as Stephen asked, are the scenes fixed or we can move around in them, like chase a fish ?

Please answer all.

3. In most scenes you can move camera around, but not full 360 degrees.

Stephen Brown The list of features doesn't answer all of the question I asked. Are the 12 detailed underwater scenes static, or can you move around in the scenes like you can with say Aquazones Open Water or Amazonian River Basin?

I'm looking for more than just a static scene where the imagery looks the same all the time. With Aquazone you can get a 360 degree view of the environment and zoom in significantly as well.

I already have Aquazone, just was interested in expanding my fish screensavers.

Hayden :) I would suggest that you install a free trial and evaluate for yourself. If it's the Aquazone Desktop Garden 1.0 that you're referring to, Sim Aquarium is magnitudes better. Give it a try and you can be the judge.

John Jarrold 1. You can use one key on all your computers and share the others with your family (one key per house).

I've just installed this software onto two computers at home and the installation refused to take the one key, had to use two keys to get the programme to work on both computers.
This means that of the four keys, I've already used two keys on my two home computers.
Could you please explain why this should be please?

Jars Clay VENDORS & BUYERS: I have always had issues with Digital River. It has a historical clientele of prestige making it preferable by small-med sized businesses. However, there weren't many 3rd party processing options a bit over a decade ago. Ten-fifteen+ years ago PayPal was dismissed as "unprofessional" by businesses of all sizes over the name PayPal. It didn't take rise until Ebay bought PayPal (recently sold). Big businesses choose other 3rd party payment processing companies, even electing just PayPal. Businesses in 2015+ that want to succeed online must see that they offer more than one 3rd party payment processing companies, each offering customers a variety of payment collections while also offering back up payment collection to another (2-3) 3rd party in case payment fails elsewhere and other value-added choices of success.

Please realize the USA has rather new banking laws & regulations immediately stopping 'transactions based outside of the US of A. regardless of any reputable company.'

Finally vendors like this one, as seen in the comments herein above, rarely follow up on problems purchasing. This immediately inquires of the integrity and value of the product, whether seen and sold by only one vendor or outlets. The owner/seller and 3rd party transaction company are who/what we see first. Poor service means poor service &/or lack of maintaining integrity of the 'promises' of the deal, such as the 'other programs' and 'lifetime license' through out 'the deal' of the license features as herein the 'Features' tab. All parties will be delighted there are two or more 3rd party payment companies if one fails. And all parties will be well pleased if vendors reply promptly while not ignoring potential customers and profits thinking the 3rd party payment company will answer all questions (at a site such as this).

Tiberius Weekend promotions are not fit for machines work. Anyway, I could log on Paypal and agree to the transaction, but the regnow page has the same message. I went to verify the purchase on Paypal but nothing is recorded there.
My conclusion is that Paypal refuses to make the transaction, not regnow.
But usually they show a message when the payment is refused, like when I make a donation from outside of the USA to an organization inside the borders.
Let skip those then. Thank you for the deal .

Stephen Brown I really want to buy this digital aquarium, having missed the deal the last time it was on sale earlier this year. Unfortunatley, no one whose commented above has come back with a positive outcome, so I'm rather dubious at actually purchasing the product at this time.

I only use PayPal and as I live outside of the US it'll probably fail anyway.

Disappointed. :(

wts @Stephen Brown. I purchased Sim Aquarium Premium in May of 2014 via BitsDuJour using PayPal/MyCommerce. No problems in the purchase, but this may be due to my address in the US. Despite occasional minor glitches, I've enjoyed this program immensely, Yes, it's non-essential and purely for enjoyment, but it doesn't use much in the way of computer resources (at least on my Win 7 64bit i7 16 GB PC - I can't notice the difference with it running or not, but it does use some CPU cycles but very little memory and disk activity). Bottom line: if you're willing to spend $20, you'll get an incredibly beautiful and realistic aquarium simulation with almost infinite possibilities. That is also its biggest liability: you'll spend more time than you should remaking your aquariums on multiple machines. You'll try schools of a relatively small number of species, or many species in small numbers of each, You'll try all the scenes. You'll poke the fish and feed them, etc. etc. You get the idea! So it's probably worth it to pursue aggressively how you can purchase from your location.

Stephen Brown I love fish screensavers and have a whole bunch of them including this one. This is an excellent fish screensaver, or chillout screenie. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves this sort of thing. My kids love it. for 75% off it's definitely worth it, but personally I don't think it's worth it's full asking price as apart from the aesthetic and chill out properties it's not got any other useful function, so grab it while it's on sale.

p.s. if you like this one, I highly recommend Aquazone 2 (which is now several years old), though due to it's age, some community members may have issues running it if you have the latest operating systems because I don't think the developer Aladdin Systems has updated it in years, (it works on my Win 7 computer but I've not tested it on my Win 10 system).

You can get Aquazone 2: Open Water (includes sharks and whales) from Amazon for $4.99 at the moment (there are other add-on's you can get for example, the Amazonian river basin, with freshwater fish etc or reef environemnts etc.

That said Sim Aquarium Premium is up to date and is 'almost' as good as Aquazone 2 IMO (don't confuse Aquazone 2 with Aquazone: Seven Seas which is not compatible with DX10 or 11 operating systems i.e Vista onwards)

Dunking @Ladislav - I emailed you about SA3 failing to run ('stopped responding' caused by an appcrash with exception code c0000005, which I understand to mean 'attempted access to invalid memory'). My system has three monitors, which I presume should be OK since it works with two, apparently? The video drivers are the latest (no long had the card), nothing else suffers and I've disabled DEP for it.

I tested the demo in a VM since I didn't want to pollute my system with something I might not buy, and it worked fine there. Any ideas as to what I can try?

MSWallack I purchased this the last time it was available but immediately had a problem with trying to configure the software. I tried to get support numerous times but never received ANY response at all. Unless the company demonstrates an interest in supporting their software, I'd stay away, far away.

Dunking Similarly, I purchased this last time but found the live wallpaper doesn't cope with my 4K screen or multiple monitors. The Android live wallpaper is OK.

MSWallack After I commented about the lack of support and Constantin Florea contacted the vendor, I promptly received an email asking me to contact support again (with the appropriate email address to use). I sent a new support email ... and then nothing. No response at all. Please don't purchase this product unless and until the vendor begins to support it.

Constantin Florea @MSWallack, The vendor wrote that there may have been some problems with their website emails account so they contacted you via their @gmail.com account, I assume that was within the last 24 hours. If you have any trouble reaching out to the vendor, please feel free to contact us at notify@bitsdujour.com and we'll help from there.

Eli User I purchased the software yesterday and I have not been able to get the software to work on my two-monitor system. It blanks my second monitor.

I contacted support yesterday and got no reply.

Today I put in a request for a refund under the 30-day money-back guarantee. I paid with PayPal and hope I need not open a dispute to receive the refund.

Ladislav Not all aquarium scenes support multiple monitors. Can you get any of them on second monitor?

Eli User You wrote "“Not all aquarium scenes support multiple monitors. Can you get any of them on second monitor?”"

No. The scene shows on Monitor 1. Monitor 2 is blank. The cursor shows on both monitors but selecting an option on Monitor 1 (for example, the scenes), has no effect.

John User What resolution are these screen savers?
I have 2 huge wall size 4K monitors that are huge black holes in the room when turned off? Hopefully these are at least 1080 res.

Dunking I bought this and don't use it because it doesn't like two monitors, one of which is 4K. From the developer's previous lack of response to this, I am not expecting it to be resolved.

frank User like the screensaver a lot. sometimes i activate the screensaver just to relax for a few minutes. only prolem so far, once a month the screensaver looses its registartion and becomes a trial again. so i type in my key again. it's not a real problem, it's just annoying.

looking at the version, it looks like the same from years ago. no update for years. pls do not abandone your screensaver.
