Constantin Florea @liz kearns - In the "Help" top menu option there should be a Register menu option which you can use to unlock the application using the registration code from the receipt email you received.

pestoking This is really nice software. You can do something like this in Photoshop with al LOT of effort, or very easily in Sketch Drawer. I had previously suggested that the version offered here appears to be the Pro version, but no way to verify. I got an email that said check Help About for the version description. Already tried that. If I could drop a screenshot of the About page, all it says is "Registered version", i.e. no details on whether this is Lite, Standard or Pro. That's a bug in the software. Found another "bug" or code fix: Click Help Check new version and the window label says "PhotoStampRemover." Whoops, that's another product this company makes.

Like I said, the version offered in this giveaway has watermarking and batch mode, which is only available in the Pro version. Sweet.

pestoking FWIW, you may want to check your firewall. It may be blocking the activation process. My software-based firewall is set to report every attempt to connect to an outside (foreign) server, and this software makes that kind of connection. After testing the software I opted to buy it. During the activation process a discount purchase code was offered during a failed activation attempt. Code = bdj70. Pro version for $24, Standard for $15. Not bad.

pestoking D Laskyub No, sorry, I tried to correct that because I realized it would be confusing. I have tested activation on two different computers and it worked fine yesterday and today. In one test, I unplugged the computer from the Net, after entering the code, which resulted in a pop-up offer for a 70% discount. I could not get this discount offer without trying to activate with a computer disconnected from the Net, which was interesting. I looked at the link for the discount and derived the discount code from that special link so that others could take advantage of the offer that might not otherwise appear.

I paid for the Pro version with the link, uninstalled the special Bits version and then installed the regular version, then entered my paid code which also activated just fine.

I suspect the issue is a firewall problem, but it could be the activation servers. Anything is possible.

Bottom line is this is nice software. Now when I purchased it, I was also offered a discount to the "suite" of 10 programs...but most of those were various flavors of editing (red eye removal, blemish fix, etc.). Tempting but I already own PaintShop Pro which can do all that. Sketch Drawer is special. Ok, that's the end of my promo for Sketch.

Instructions
While installing the application, if you do not see the window which allows you to register and get your registration information for the program, please make sure that the name of the program you downloaded is: SketchDrawer_pt3.exe

If the name is for example SketchDrawer_pt3(1).exe or SketchDrawer_pt3(2).exe the registration window won't appear when you try to install the application but you can rename the installer file to SketchDrawer_pt3.exe and start the installation again.

Using the correct name of the program as described above, will cause the registration window to appear in the initial steps of the installation process.

Jose L Santos As the above mentioned cases, after clicking on the "Get it for free" button, I had the proper file downloaded (SketchDrawer_pt3.exe) and also received the corresponding BDJ receipt e-mail message, which gives me the info aboutt the required correct fine name (above), but DOES NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A LICENSE/REGISTRATION CODE, nor provides any info on how to get it.

Anyway I did run the file for the installation and when the window requesting me to enter the License Key showed up I HAD NO KEY TO ENTER, AS I DID N O T RECEIVE IT.

As this window shows a "Get free activation key" button, I clicked on it and a nem browser window at SoftOrbits is openned, stating "Activate account - Please check your emails now". However ABSOLUTELY NO E-MAIL MESSAGE WAS RECEIVED even after several minutes past.

What are you trying to reach with this FREE offer? To make your product know by the BDJ users community?!?! If so, by acting so recklessly ALL you are advertising is your absolute LACK of control before lauching an offer and, even worse, the TOTAL LACK OF SUPPORT to the user community, as you did NOT replied accordingly to the several messages already posted why the very same concern.

BDJ User: Be aware: If you have read this offer and is considering to get it, GIVE UP.... even for free it is way TOO EXPENSIVE for the NOTHING they provide and the time you would spent to get nowhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wts Jose, when I clicked on the "Get free activation key" button, a new SoftOrbits window opened on my browser asking for my name, email, and birthdate (month & day - I put in 1/01 - and then a dropdown list for ranges of decades). Then a new screen gave the license key which, indeed, activated the software.

I can't complain since it worked for me and it looks like an interesting program at the right price. BTW this license key brands the software with BitsDuJour, which I don't mind in the least. Yes, SoftOrbits has a more elaborate process to get your info and give the key, but it worked, at least for me, so thank you to SoftOrbits and Bits for the program.

Anna Schiffer I can't get the activation code. When I click "Get free activation key" I get a popup that reads "Application error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application."

Shawn User Make sure you have the filename as mentioned when ordering also you'll get a option while installing to get access to the page that will register you for a licence key.

wts @Susan: And then they give the full registration key. No rip off. Don't know why they need birth date, but I understand email so they can market to you - fair enough in exchange for free.

Please note: I'm not a shill for SoftOrbits. I just appreciate free offers for up-to-date software without a time limit for using that version or for needing an eventual subscription. Furthermore the software AND the company behind it is (hopefully) checked out by BDJ, which I trust a lot more than some of the other free software of the moment companies with far greater hoops to crawl through.

Susan User @ wts No they don't give the full registration key because it doesn't work. I filled in the registration box and got the key and pasted it into the box but a message comes up that says application error and it doesn't register the program. The program says Unregistered.
