What are people saying about Smart Photo Import

Al Aymer How is this application different than other photo organizers and importers?

Francesco Savastano Hello Al, thank you for your question. Smart Import is simple, easy to use and has clear options to let you customize the importing and sorting process very quickly. It has a very useful import preview to give you exact control on how the files will look when imported. At the same time it gives you flexibility in choosing which picture should have which subject, by directly using its powerful image browser. IT lets you rename and sort in a variety of formats. IT is ideal if you like to give meaningful subjects to your photo sessions, without the overhead of a complex program.

Warren Russell I expected that when I inserted a photo SD card, the software would recognize it and change the source. However, it is still showing the program directory as the source.

Does it not do this? Do I need to set the source path manually to read from a card reader?

Michael R. Is it possible to create tags for the pictures and - more important - allow the copy of tag-dependent pictures to another directory.

For example, it would be nice, if an expression like
tag_set('MichaelR') and (not tag_set('private')) or
tag_set('MichaelR') && !tag_set('private') (C-Style)
could be defined and together with a copy-command this one could copy only the non-private files of me, e.g. to a SD-card.

Can SmartPhotoImport do such tag-related things?

Francesco Savastano Michael tagging is available with the Quick Subject, we will add more automatic implementation in v. 1.9.7.

Francesco Savastano Warren,
about the SD card, there is a drive sense option for that, you need to enable it. But if the program is already opened when you insert the card it is reasonable that it does not switch there by itself, as it may be not what you really want to do, since you may have other pictures in the browser loaded already. SI is not only an importer but also a photo sorter.

for any technical issue you find, please contact us from our support page. Thanks! :)
