You may not regard yourself as an artist, but have you ever considered the notion that maybe you just haven't found your medium yet? Instead of gamely trying to paint pictures of lighthouses and tabby cats, you should try your hand at creating abstract art -- and Smoke is just the app that you'll need to start your new life as an artist!

What is Smoke? It's a graphics editor that gives you access to unique brushes that seem to respond naturally to your mouse movements. Start playing around with Smoke and you'll soon find yourself translating your ideas into art, creating abstract backgrounds, lighting, art-house drawings, and more. It's a carefully constructed ballet of light and smoke, and you're the conductor!

You'll be amazed at what you can do with Smoke, and how easily it is to get started! Unleash the power of your imagination today with Smoke!

James Kenney Is there a PC or Linux version?
I REALLY want this, but there is no way I am going to buy a Mac to run a $10.00 program!

Zoran Paljevic There's no PC version. Does anyone know similar Windows application?

Tom Woot This is a great app! You can whip out the coolest backgrounds and effects in seconds, literally. A true time saver (try imitating these effects using a standard image/graphics editor -with the exception of some PS plugin brushes).

@JK & ZP: there is a very similar PC & Mac app called "Flame Painter", albeit a bit more expensive, it's still a bargain). I'm own Smoke, but face the need to work on PCs as well).

@JK 2: Smoke is an excellent excuse to buy a Mac! :-)

PS: Yaroslav Glushchenko, the developer of smoke, provides outstanding support!

Gabriel Zastawnik Would buy it immediately if there was only Windows version. I hope you will release it soon.

kailey bale Hi, I had asked before but my question was not posted?
I was wondering if there was a version compatible with 10.5?

Yaroslav Glushchenko @kailey bale, the app requires Mac OS 10.6+

H. H. 2Tom Wootthank you very much for mentioning flame painter. So PC-Users Users must not stay frustrated with the mac 10.6-only bdj offer. Perhaps the author of smoke nevertheless may think about a pc-version.
with kind regards

Gabriel Zastawnik Following Tom Woot post, I must recommend silmiliar program for Windows Users: Flame Painter (beacuse we all PC users were left by NeatBerry as they did ony Mac version of their superb software:))

For Windows & Mac version
Regular Price: 19.99 USD
Today Price: 9.99 USD * 7.99 EUR * 5.99 GPB (yes - they have promo too:))

And guys did some online version which is STUNNING:

I hope BitsDuJour admins wont moderate my post, beacuse I am not related in any kind with Flame Painter vendors, and like I see many PC users would buy "Smoke", but we just cant as there is no version for our platform.

I already bought my Windows version:)

Best regards to all!

Zoran Paljevic Smoke could definitely consider half billion Windows users but I doubt they'll do that.. Many times there's Mac Syndrome in the middle.
I have MacBook Pro but I'm using it only to surf long time on battery power, that's all. I'd never try to work seriously on Mac.

For such a reasons, BDJ could synchronize similar software for main platforms at the same day so it can take it's bite too..
