I've been using Revo Uninstaller for many years (but not the Pro version). I believe Revo does a better job of uninstalling than Windows uninstaller.

HOWEVER -- As for Soft Organizer - from what it says in the description and the way I understand it -- Soft Organizer "records" EVERYTHING when you are installing a NEW program -- and when you want to Uninstall that program in the near or distant future Soft Organizer has in its memory banks EVERYTHING about the program that needs to be uninstalled and then removes every trace of the program. Since I haven't tried Soft Organizer yet I can't say whether it does a better job than Revo. Only the Vendor would know.

I have found with Revo that I had to go to the Registry and still delete "tracks" of a program that were still left behind after using Revo to uninstall ANY program -- so apparently Revo doesn't make a strict record of everything you install and therefore leaves behind tidbits and tracks of an uninstalled program.

Joe M Thanks Ricky for your information. I have also noticed that Revo leaves behind stuff in the registry. I have the Pro version of Revo. I have never heard of Soft Organizer. I will probably try it when it is available.

Ik gebruik al jaren Rollback Rx. Die maakt dagelijks binnen 10 a 15 sec een snapshot van mijn C-schijf.
Sinds kort hebben ze ook een Free versie waar je maximaal 7 snapshots mee kan maken.
Als je terug wilt naar een vorige situatie, start je je PC opnieuw op en met zo’n 20 sec extra ben je dan terug naar de oude situatie.
Zelfs als je ooit getroffen wordt met een virus en je PC niet meer wil opstarten, kun je met Rollback Rx naar een vorige situatie waarin je PC wel opstart !

BearPup The biggest problem with Revo is that it doesn't work with 64 Bit programs unless you buy the Pro version. I won't support that dichotomy. I currently use IObit's Uninstaller program which does do x64 programs.

Does anyone know whether Soft Organizer handles 64 Bit programs natively? Thanks in advance.

BearPup Whoa! Panda Antivirus just knocked Soft Organizer off my computer when I went to install it. That's a good enough recommendation to not install the program. Too bad, I was looking forward to trying it.

Cary Adams Dinging Revo because they won't give you the full free 64-bit version is very funny. Even funnier is that Revo is frequently offered here at a good price, yet that is not enough for some.

While I'm sure today's offer is worth checking out, as Chemtable is a reliable vendor. That said, Revo is the "gold standard" by which other installers must compete. While today's offer is nice, it's not entirely free either (and it shouldn't be) as updates are excluded.

BearPup @Cary Adams: given that 64 Bit computing is the "gold standard" of OS, Revo's exclusion of 64 Bit computing is not at all funny. If they give one away, it ought to be universally usable, and not only usable by a few.

As to today's offering, Panda Antivirus took care of it for me. So much for Chemtable being a "reliable vendor".

Revo Uninstaller FREE, portable, has been running just fine on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit for a long time (a number of years, updated regularly).

For others regarding leftovers:
As for registry cleaning, it depends on how "aggressive" you set it up. There are are multiple options to choose from.
I haven't seen it leaving any traces, but I set it that way.

The only thing I miss in the free version is the "Forced Uninstall", which is in the Pro version.

Brenda Adams Is this normal? I am kinda creeped out.
When I ordered this software for free, it automatically entered my name and full real address AFTER I hit the complete order button--no chance to stop it from going through as-is. I was surprised. I don't think my computer inserted the info...so what the?? I am concerned that my real address is so easily had.

Loyal User Downloading, installing, and registration went smooth. No issues.

The program ran fine, and it lists installed apps in a way similar to Revo (recently installed programs first, on top).

I like the "check for installed program update" function.
I also like the "View Traces" of an installed program function.

I do not like the "Commands" menu on the left. I wish it had the traditional menu on the top (like File, Edit, View, etc., like Revo has).

I tried checking other functions and selected the user manual. The Help file opened, but froze instantly. I had to terminate it using Windows Task Manager.
Running it again worked OK.
The manual seems to be a very rough draft to a user's manual. It needs a lot of work.

The last column on the right "Uninst. By", which displays some percentages is confusing, and I am not sure what that percentage means. It doesn't seem to display the percentage of disk space occupied by an app, and the title of the column leaves me clueless.

Unfortunately, it doesn't have a forced uninstall function (or something similar).

The name "soft organizer" does not represent what this program is for. It is NOT an organizer by any means. It's an UNINSTALLER.
I think a more suitable name for it would be a good idea.

There are other free programs that do the same job, such as Revo, ioBit, etc.

Overall, it's a useful alternative to Revo (but not Revo Pro).

Dear Brenda, no need to be paranoid...

It just seems that you were already logged in to BitsDuJour before buying the actual software : that's why BitsDuJour was able to know exactly who was buying the software and so to enter automatically your name and full address.

At the moment where I am writing this comment, you are still logged in because when the mouse hovers over your name an hand appears, which means that you are logged in.

To logout, just go at the top of the page, at the extreme right of the blue ribbon where is your avatar : click on it and choose "Logout".

I still don't like the idea of my address being used.
BTW: I am using two computers. One, on Chrome shows no login at top; other is Foxfire and it does show it...and shows me as not logged on and wants me to login. The Chrome I am writting you from must be the one logged in. I will shut down Chrome and see if that removes me. Thanks again.

Click on the icon on the top right (it looks like the icon to the left of your messages).
A drop-down menu appears. Select (or click on) the third item that says Logout.

You may test that with both, Chrome and your "Foxfire", which is known to the rest of us as "Firefox"!

Also, keep in mind that if you are setting Chrome to automatically fill out forms on web pages, then it will do that because in that case all of your name and address information would be stored in Chrome.

Brenda Adams Thanks Loyal. No, I didn't use Chrome for the purchase. I 'bought' with a new computer I just got...and used Mozilla (LOL) browser where nothing is set (yet) to fill in forms. That's one reason I was surprised to see my name and home address inserted into my receipt (I think it was that window) soon as I hit the final purchase button.

It is very obvious that is not what they were talking about. The fact it runs on x64 copies of Windows is not the issue. As they already stated, the problem is that it does not remove x64 applications, therefore rendering it crippled, especially when most computers are x64 now & thus, a large amount of software is developed this way. Not to mention, it makes more sense to use x64 versions in a lot of scenarios, and the entire point is that it's just ridiculous when groups do this kind of thing. All or nothing, but don't give out crippled software & assume you're doing something....

clive User an email from the company confirmed that it does handle 64bit installations/uninstalls. I dont know about Panda antivirus but if I took note of every false positive from the Comodo Cloud scanner then I would have virtually no free software on my computer!!

Clive Richards Perhaps it was a browser or login issue - I find the login process a bit hit and miss on here sometimes but had no problem downloading this on the offer day. Better luck next time as it seems to be quite a good program. My only criticism is that it is fairly slow monitoring the system before and after installation but of course that does allow for a clean uninstall

Joe M The offer was for the old 3.51 version. The license key will not work on the newer 4.0 version. I upgraded my 3.51 install to the 4.0 install and it would not except the key. Maybe if it comes back again it will be the newer version.
I have uninstalled it using Revo Pro.

Nice features, and good reviews of the product on certain web sites, though, but there is no "Forced Uninstall" feature.

Maybe because I'm used to the Revo Pro Interface, although Revo's customer support is extremely poor, in my experience, even for a paid version.

NICE Program! Thank you Chemtable and BDJ.

Tried the program with Acronis 2014 "Try & Decide" just in case there was a problem or I wasn't satisfied with how things worked.

Installed Soft Organizer V5.03 - then un-installed a program - then installed another NEW program and all worked EXCELLENT.

I'm very happy with Soft Organizer V5.03.

Works BETTER than Revo Uninstaller V1.95 the Free version IMHO. It really did remove all tracks and tidbits out of the registry (unlike Revo that leaves tracks in the registry and other places). I was really surprized. Soft Organizer V5.03 came thru with flying colors.

As for installing a NEW program - I used Soft Organizer V5.03 to handle the installation. Worked perfect and didn't force my OS to turn on the "System Restore - Restore Point". Yay!! I didn't want that! Glad it didn't or I wouldn't use Soft Organizer V5.03 and would not recommend it if it did. I hate when programs force things to happen and I have no control over the changes to my OS. Such programs get "Try & Decided" with Acronis 2014 and if they force things to happen - they end up off my OS.

However - I will still keep Revo installed for other purposes. Note: I had tried the Pro version of Revo and it messed up my system - therefore I can't compare Soft Organizer V5.03 to the Pro Version of Revo.

But as for Un-installing and Installing Programs I will absolutely use Soft Organizer V5.03 and be more than happy to pay for a future update/upgrade.

One thing I won't use Soft Organizer V5.03 or future versions for is the option to put stuff in the Cloud or to help update any of the existing programs on my OS. I'd rather update my programs manually by my own means -- and I absolutely refuse to keep anything in the Cloud. No thanks to that.

Again - great program. It does what it says.

When you open the program look on left side of the Interface for the words: SETTINGS AND COMMANDS.

Click on SETTINGS AND COMMANDS. Then click on "Enter the License Key ..." and then copy and paste the License Key that was emailed to you.

Joe M I am interested in trying this program. I have used Revo Pro for a few years and it does do a fairly good job of uninstalling a program. But the other day I uninstalled the 32 bit version of Chrome so I could install the new 62 bit version. Well the uninstall did not go well. It did remove the program but I can no longer use Sticky Password in my other browser, Firefox. Apparently I was not looking at the Revo program when is asked me if I wanted to remove the program completely that there must have been some connection between Chrome, Firefox and Sticky Password.
Anyway I will give this Soft Organizer a try.

Joe - it is well worth a try.

Like I said in an earlier post - I use Revo V1.95 Free version and it doesn't do a very good job of getting rid of everything. I ALWAYS have to go into the Registry where I have to find what Revo didn't - and manually delete the leftover stuff.

After trying Soft Organizer - WOW - what a difference. It doesn't leave anything in the Registry when uninstalling a program.

I've used Soft Organizer to un-install 2 programs so far and also had it help me install a new program. Everything worked flawlessly. I am very pleased with Soft Organizer and won't have a problem paying for an update/upgrade when one becomes available.

However - I'll still keep Revo for other purposes - but not for un-installing!

Cary Adams @Ricky Rick... In all fairness the Revo free version 1.95 you are using is ancient and limited to 32-bit programs. That's hardly a just review of their current release, version 3.15. In contrast to Revo, this offer was last updated in April 2014 if I understand their forum post correctly.

This offer looks interesting, but without all its cloud related stuff, it's very limited, as I have no desire to upload my program list to these guys.

Carey - the free Revo V1.95 works fine (per se) on my Win 7 Pro 64 Bit OS. Never had a problem with it un-installing either 64 bit or 32 bit programs on my 64 bit OS. Except for the fact it left so many tracks behind in the Registry which I had to manually delete.

However, when I upgraded to the Pro version of Revo V3.x I had all kinds of problems. That was somewhere around last year. After explaining exactly what problems Revo Pro was causing my OS they refunded me in full.

No - I can't make a fair comparison between Revo Pro and Soft Organizer because I don't/can't use Revo Pro on my OS for some reason - but Soft Organizer from the few times I tested it - it did a very splendid job of doing what it says it will do.

And, Carey - You DON'T need to upload anything to the Soft Organizer Developers Cloud unless you choose to do so. When you install the program it has an "opt out" of doing that.

I don't like Cloud based services and NEVER-EVER will use any of them because I lack trust in the Security of Cloud based services of anykind.

That said. I was disconnected from the internet when I used Soft Organizer and had no popups asking or stating that I wasn't connected to the internet when I either un-installed or installed a program - or even when I had the program do a Trace of the program I was installing.

If in the future Soft Organizer software MUST be used with the Cloud I will get rid of it in a heart beat.

But - the future of the Internet/Web looks like it's headed toward all Cloud Based services via storing email to storing all your files for a particular software program we may be using.

Also - there will come a day when ALL our software will be Cloud Based. I'll probably be with Jesus by the time that all comes into play - but it is coming whether we like it or not. It's just a matter of time. Probably in the next 10 to 15 years is my guess - maybe sooner.

Dunking The Reg Organizer link, at $19.97, takes me to a form demanding £36.09. The adds VAT on top! I think this is rather more than 50% off, even after Brexit :)

In a case like this, suppose the link is fixed but too late to take advantage of the offer. Does that mean we don't get it or would the offer be extended to account for the error?

Dunking I only see the order now button if I block digital river scripts. Enabling everything (shiver) I get an 'add to cart' button and a 'view cart' button. If I click add to cart I get a bill for £42 or so. I did try the order now button but got the same result.

Constantin Florea @Dunking, Could you please clear the browser cache on Google Chrome or Internet Explorer and try purchasing again using those browsers? For some reason I am getting the same issue (no discount) when using Firefox but I see the discount in IE and Chrome.

Even so, I have contacted the vendor to ensure that everything is OK with the coupon code.

@Anton: seems to be an issue with Firefox. It is all very well saying it is Chrome or IE only, but we are talking HTML here (or should be). If there is a compatibility issue then my take on it is that the author of the code has got it wrong. After all, I would take issue with some application vendor telling me I need to run Windows in a paritcular way, or with particular open security holes, for their app to work for me.

So, I would suggest that 'the coupon code is fine' is not actually the case.

Yeah, after installation, at program startup, gridinsoft antimalware reports it as "Malware.Win32.Pack.1091!se".

Since you are here, I have another question: so far I am satisfied with Soft Organizer which seems to keep my OS very clean in spite of my numerous installations/uninstallations, and I haven't had any mishap, but I am a little bit worried that one day, some changes occurring in the system during a new installation but unrelated to it, for instance a silent Windows update, might be undone together with a subsequent uninstallation, causing problems. In theory, could this happen?

Nelson Carvalho I bought Reg Organizer a few years ago.
It is a complete and high quality software.
With Reg Organizer there is no longer a need to have more than one software to work with the Windows registry. I recommend.

Anton Maksimov @ouialaraison: Soft Organizer's algorithm will filter most of the system entries not related to the traced program. Please note that in some cases, the extraneous entries may still appear in the tracing log, but they will be ignored when undoing the changes from that log.

Despite this, it would be even better if you manually review the changes log upon its creation to ensure that no superfluous entries are appeared there.

Adolphe Clean interface, but an unwelcome insistance on using capital letters, which look nice but are difficult to read. Software phones home in order to collect signatures of uninstalled programs. This cloud database is used when you want to eliminate traces of formerly uninstalled programs (can be disabled ; we don't know if refusing telemetry prevents cleaning of previously uninstalled software). Program checks if your software is up-do-date, but no precisions given on how automated the process is, and whether it does the update for you.

No online manual or knowledge base, minimal FAQ. Commendable efforts for some hand-holding on Windows basic facts, but clearly too little or too much. Been developed in a cold country, which is conducive to good software (OK, just joking). This note being written before installation of the program, by looking up the developer's website.

jman Unless I am missing it, you do not state which version you are offering here. I think that should be a fairly standard as part of the software description.

Would you please tell me the version. I have v6.07 and would not want to overlay it with something older. Thank you.

I do like this software and use it regularly. Though it has occasionally failed to do a complete removal and leftover items remained that Iobit Uninstaller found and warned about.

Benjamin User Is this software better to Revo Uninstaller Pro ? The feature I want is to find residual files that were not uninstalled properly before... It could make me save a lot of space.... on the other hand, I am afraid about erasing so-called residual file that were importance for the computer and could result into a computer crash...

yes, it is for the PRO version but as i said in the first post...
it says on "about" (in the program) that my license is updateable for 365 days only, not lifetime as advertised..
...plus the license is for 2 computers,and you may use the program as long as you like,without limitations.

Terry McPeck This is just an FYI - I purchased the pro version of Soft Organizer several version ago (probably over two years ago). About 6 months ago updated and then started getting emails from Cox that I had the Sality virus and I needed to get rid of it. Very long story short, after many hours with a Cox technician and my internet bring turned off several times Cox told me it was from an application I did not even have installed "Handy Start Menu" but from the same company Chemtable, I uninstall Soft Organizer and paid for Revo Uninstaller Pro and have not had issues since for two months.

I am not the only one: https://www.dslreports.co...on-Email-i (second page when the OP realizes it is "Handy Start Menu" and also has Soft Organizer, I am the last to post there).

Cox Communications, pretty well one of the largest and fastest cable internet providers in the US. All I can say is after I uninstalled Soft Organizer my problems went away, that is proof enough for me after every three days getting my internet shut off. May not be intentional but something was wrong and now it is not.

Ghousti User I'm using Soft and Ref Organizer from Chemtable for several years and never had any issues with Sality or anything like that.Btw their support are great.If you had paid version why you didn't contact them about that "handy start menu" or "viruses that chemtable are spreading"? Soft Organizer get positive reviews on all platforms like forums,giveaway sites etc. from day one.After all just read about Sality little more,and maybe You will understand how you get it(if you have sality at all) and how you can remove it without Cox technician! Revo PRO is well known,they don't need your ''advertisement",almost anybody who knows what uninstaller is also knows what REVO is. Soft Organizer and REVO are about the same quality,it's just matter of choice...

Really, been doing tech support for over 30 years, you don't think I spent weeks researching what was causing Cox to say I had Sality. And again it was "Handy Start Menu" by the same company which I did not have installed. When I uninstalled the application (Soft Organizer) it shot me out to their website to tell them why I uninstalled it, told them about the possibility of Sality, never heard a word back. Was using Soft Organizer since 2015 version 3.51. And again I was not the only person this happened to as provide by the link in my first post.

And so mysteriously how after uninstalling the application no more complaints from my Internet provider whether or not it was a false positive I value my internet connection; that I've had with Cox for over 35 years; than I do a simple application.

I don't work for REVO, do either you or Toni work for Chemtable? just wanted to make sure everyone had both sides of the story.

your viruses are coming from elsewhere.

John User Please be careful if you uninstall this program. I had v 8.11 and thought it best to uninstall that before downloading and installing this 8.16. I used Revo to uninstall and unfortunately walked away from my PC while it was uninstalling. It not only uninstalled Soft Organizer, but about half of the other programs I have on my hard drive. My recovery point didn't work for some reason that Revo creates and now I have to go back and download and reinstall many programs.

But the install of Soft Organizer seems to have gone well, so there is that....

Sarsfield Downloaded this onto a win10 pro laptop today. Just ran the program to scan for uninstallable programs and then selected the windows app folder to see what uninstall options were there. Locked up my computer and had to reboot several times after uninstalling it in order to get a working system again. Buyer beware. Used Revo to uninstall and even after the program uninstall utility ran, Revo found more junk left in the registry.

Mr Dave I have Soft Organizer 8.11 and it works great. Much faster than Revo (at least it was when I started using it, Revo may have improved since then), gives a more complete list of installed programs (at least on my PC), helps me see what needs to be updated. It removes traces left behind by program uninstallers. I have no way to know how thorough that feature is, but it appears to work well.

Given that...
a. There is no update log on their site to tell me what has changed since 8.11,
b. Many people appear to have problems with 8.16
...I will skip this and stick with what I have rather than risk losing it.

Chemtable User According to the above comments, it seems there is a problem in Revo when uninstalling Soft Organizer. Be careful: Either use the own Soft Organizer's uninstaller or carefully learn what Revo offers to remove when uninstalling Soft Organizer.

I find it odd there is no link on their website to see the change log page, no way to search for it. I see now that I can open the program and find a link to the changelog, but what if I want to see this before installing? Hopefully someone at Chemtable will read these comments and add a changelog link to their product or support pages.

Dunking I purchased this off Bits some time back. Seemed to be OK for a while and then I got repeatable crashes when SoftOrganiser tries to see what an install has changed. Emails to support were ignored, so I had to go on the forum to get anyone to notice. Naturally, it worked fine on the devs system and after running a tool to produce a crash log they said "We cannot find the problem in our code in this part of the application." No kidding.

So, that was Soft Organizer quite useless. Similar problem with Reg Organizer: started off great, consistently crashes doing certain things.

If I purchase this license to see if things have improved and magically got fixed, can I get a refund it it hasn't?

John User Interesting that I am receiving a popup to purchase version 8.18 when I use version 8.16 Pro which I purchased some time ago. I am being told to update 8.16 and I will have to pay again for 8.18.

So if you purchase the version offered here today (8.16) you can expect to receive popups whenever you want to use the program and to pay again!

Honestly, I am back to using Revo which I have used for many years.

Constantin Florea @John User, I am sorry about the issue. For discounted deals such as this one, we must always be selling the latest version of the product.

the latest version is 8.18 so I updated this version number in the promotion page as well.

The code you receive with your purchase from today has to work with this latest version, with 8.18, if it doesn't please let us know and we will ask the vendor to look into this.

Anton Maksimov @John User looks like you are using a single version license. Therefore, when the program sees a new version, it will offer to update. In this case, you'll see a notification that the update will be paid.

I purchased this software back in 2019 from BitsDuJour and it was offered as a Lifetime Upgrade License. However, when I recently tried to reactivate the license, the software said I need to purchase again.

Are you still honoring the Lifetime Upgrade License that was purchased a few years ago?

As I said, I purchased v 8.16 and now I get this message. As above, I thought I purchased a lifetime upgrade license, but I am not sure about that. At any rate, I won't be updating and paying again.

Constantin Florea @John User, We (BitsDuJour) have never sold a Lifetime upgrades license for this product. We have sold a Lifetime use license with 365 days of upgrades. The last time you purchased this product I see it was in July 2019 which is more than 1 year ago so if you are referring to that license then the upgrade period has ended in July last year..

As it looks like a very minor upgrade I’ll pass on paying. In fact I’ll be uninstalling this and go back to Revo Pro.

Just FYI.

I am presently looking at my PayPal receipt for that item and here is what it says:
Item# BDJ-RDeUNP Products: Soft Organizer - Lifetime upgrades v7.44 (1)

The date on that PayPal Receipt was July 6, 2019 at 08:17:29 EDT

I am not trying to stir anything up, but I believe the developer should not have put that on the PayPal Receipt.

John User Yes, the reason I brought this up in the first place is that I also have a PayPal receipt from July 2019 (same promotion) which says the exact thing. Whether it is bait and switch, or an honest error, I don't know. But it did have me believing I had a license with lifetime upgrades. This is why I questioned the constant popups telling me I didn't have a free update coming and to purchase another license.
