What are people saying about SoftColor Toolbox

Ralph Bressler So I went to the website to look at the demo videos. I am always looking for ways to improve my pictures. The demos show a DOS box or command line interface! I suspect this is why nobody has commented. Any photo correction program that still uses this type of interface AND charges $300 for it must be crazy. IF I am missing something, someone please let me know!

Petri Piirainen Ralph,

SoftColor Toolbox is a command line batch processing toolkit with server and hot-folder workflow tools. For example Toolbox can be used to process uploaded photos on the web-server. Toolbox is an ideal tool for do-it-yourself workflows when huge amount of photos is needed to process. Toolbox can be also integrated with other systems, like editorial or printing workflows. SoftColor Toolbox is like a "Photoshop for it-department" :)

I think that you should check our PhotoEQ application, http://www.bitsdujour.com...r-photoeq/
or Automata

Brian H Hi- I think that Ralph didn't understand the true use of this program when he commented earlier. Of course, anyone who downloaded the trial of this program and was expecting a non-DOS based photo editor would be surprised and probably not impressed, until they understood that the program was written for command line use.

Having said that- I have a question for you about this product. Besides command line interface, does this product have any features that windows-based program, SoftColor PhotoEQ, does not? Thanks. -Brian

Petri Piirainen Brian,

Main differences to PhotoEQ are Toolbox's advanced batch processing features like automatic hot-folder workflows, configuration files and background server mode. Toolbox uses same image editing engine than PhotoEQ.

Michael R. I would like to see the ability to do some addional things with the toolbox:

- set/remove check for a tag (exit-value could be the state)
- face/person recognition (which would e.g. allow to sort out (or move appropriate pictures into certain directories)
- quality recognition (which would e.g. allow automatically remove bad (unsharp, ...) pictures

Petri Piirainen Michael,

Thanks for your feedback. We are currently working with this "tag filtering" feature. It will use EXIF/IPTC/XMP metadata to select should image to be processed or not. It will be a free update for current users.
