What are people saying about SoftOrbits Photo Retoucher

Tomasz Lisowski "Transfer of a license to another owned computer is not allowed" ...

That's a major problem with this offer. What if my laptop breaks down? Do I have to purchase another license to continue working with this software on another machine?

Software Guy Would like to hear if anyone has compared this to other object removal tools such as InPaint.
This offer is single user plus single computer with no transfers to another computer, making it one of the most restricted licenses offered on BDJ. Also, the price is a bit high.
Something tells me this very restricted license may not be what SoftOrbits really had in mind. Timezones will surely limit the developer's response, but would like to hear what SoftOrbits would like to say about a single user single machine license install.

Brad Yes, I am with Tomasz on this one, to not be able to transfer a license to another computer should the need arise would be a non-starter for me. I'm thinking in actual practice this is not what the developer intends. Perhaps some clairfication is in order.

There are many customer friendly processes, procedures, as well as software design modalities which if the company thinks through would insure the developers interests are adequately protected in terms of moving licenses to new machines, and insuring the original license is deactived for use.

Eugene Ustinenkov Eugene, SoftOrbits - "Transfer of a license to another owned computer is not allowed" - is not quite right. Our license grants to use one copy of the product on a one computer. You can uninstall product from your computer and install and activate it at another one.

Gray Lox Thanks for the offer - BUT:

"Error Connecting Activation Server".

Tried it several times, no other glitches with my system.

VLM For me, having to install within 10 days is a deal breaker. There is just too much software here to be bound by such a restriction ... I have other things to do! :)

BearPup I've done a complete re-write here after successfully completing the offer by using the BitsDuJour website, presumably a different network than the actual giveaway network.

Hopefully, BitsDuJour will contact me with a fix for this. But for now I'm a happy camper, having gotten this great offer.

Regards,
BearPup

Gray Lox Is there any hope that I can register the programme?
Is it only me having a problem with the activation?
My system: Win 7 HP 64bit SP1 with the newest Firefox and a well educated Kaspersky.

I installed and registered another software today without trouble - and I'm not new in this "business".
Would be cool to hear from you.
Thanks :)

BearPup Hello Gray Lox,
You may need to make sure that your firewall will let through the activation process. I use Private Firewall and needed to give it permission to let the activation process continue.

If nothing else, disable it till the software is activated, then re-enable it. Hope this helps.

Regards,
BearPup

BrianS I tried to install within the 10-day period specified in the fine print. I received an activation error wrongly claiming the software had been previously registered--this was the first time I tried to activate. I waited several days from tech support to respond and they refused to help me saying I would have to buy the program albeit with a 30% discount. They falsely claimed I tried to registered after the promotional period. I sent a followup email again explaining what happened and received no response. In short, SoftOrbits failed to honor its license agreement. Terrible customer/technical support.
