Frankly it's next to impossible to beat Wireshark in terms of features offered. Wireshark is a comprehensive tool for IT professionals that does a lot more than our product does.

On the other hand, our product is simpler, more light-weight and probably easier to use. It does not require third-party WinPCap driver installation. It does everything that an average network admin or application developer needs and features a native Windows GUI.

Unlike Wireshark our protocol also supports loopback monitoring (i.e. monitors connections within the same computer) and features a few tools to collect network statistics.

Andrew Lock No, it doesn't require activation. A license offered is life-time and it is not hardware-locked.

Stefan Hauber Having written a proprietary protocol between a hardware-device and computer via a COM and PAR-interface, I am wondering if your product supports (or plans to do so) these COM/PAR-interfaces too.

Is it possible to specify an own protocol for your product, which is interpreted adequately by NetworkProtocolAnalyzer?

Andrew Lock @Stefan,Unfortunately communications via a serial/parallel interface is based on a different principle and is not supported by this product, nor it supports custom protocol decoding.There are specialised tools out there such as http://technet.microsoft....96644.aspx . Just google 'Serial port monitor' to find some of them.

Lance Colton cool program but it should be updated more frequently. This version is like a year old... but it looks like a fun toy for $25 so i bought it anyways.

Marco Pivetta Eduardo Garcia and Andrew Lock, thanks for the question and the answer. I had the same doubt and I like the honest answer. There are thousands of person that are not network professionals and should have an app to improve security. The interface seems to be intuitive.

Keith Norton I thought I would buy this, but when I clicked "Buy Now" a window opened offering several levels of licensing. I had the impression looking at the website that this software would monitor all traffic within my network of 8 computers when installed on one of them. Now I wonder if I am supposed to install a separate license on each machine. I thought running the trial version would illuminate the issue but it refuses to run, claiming my trial period has already expired. If I need to buy the 10 license package, I will probably pass.
