John Vik Our licensing works like this:

You can activate it a total of four times, however if you install it on the same computer and uses the same computer name you can install it as many times you want.

John Vik Mitch B.

Strange. We actually answered your support ticket 14. september 2009, and gave you another license.

Please check your emails.

Have a nice day. (=

Glen H Once again offering this deal. Didn't used the copy i paid for months ago due to problems. Would not recommend - total waste of money. All online activations and program requirements should be made perfectly clear to all. Updated to new PC manually without dramas and Soft Rescue limitations. This is not a stand alone program and maybe even more time consuming, useless and confusing than other options..

Rob Ert My experience with SoftRescue and licenses is this :
With the key you get, you can activate 4 different PC's/Windows versions.
So when on 1 PC you have XP and Vista, it needs 2 activations.
But after that (and with the same PC-name), I can install as often as I want with the same activation.

John Vik That is correct Ruud.

As long as you use the same PC-name on the computer you can intall it as many times as you want.

Cheers!

Apiwat Nutavej This is my experience with the software:

Installed on 1 PC and 1 Notebook, SoftRescue state that I have 2 activations left, which is correct (because it allow 4 activations per license).

Start scanning PC and make a migration set. I want to move some 'Utility and Support' kinds of software, not a biggie like Office or Adobe things. That make my backup set quit small, and the operation is fast.

Copy migration set to the notebook and use SoftRescue to restore those. No problem found.

Now the interesting thing happen: Some software move in the already-activated state, ready to use. But some revert to before-activated state, meaning you have to enter the register key again.

Fortunately, several softwares that I lose registration keys migrate with activated-state intact.

So, for about 20$, I can successfully migrate softwares that I need the most to my new notebook, which in my humble opinion, paid for the price of it already.

My suggestion is to keep your expectation realistic. If you migrate several hundreads software or huge 20 GB set or something like that, you will encounter problems.

(Sorry my poor english).

Glen H According to our records your license is only activated one time. And you have 3 more to go.

Send me an email on jsvanovasoft.com if you have more questions.

Glen H:

Why do you say it is a complete waste of time, when you haven't even tried it?

John
I'll send you a sperate email to outline the specific problems. It would however, be nice to know that customer satisfaction was important to you. This was clearly not the case from your last BDJ offer and non-response from customer comments and problems..Glen .

As mentioned total waste of money and cannot be used.

Ash Kumar I was very excited to see the capabilities of this product but then I read all the negative reviews above, including the ones at Amazon and I cooled off.

Will wait for product to mature as I can't afford to trash my Windows 7 64-bit system after spending months to stabilize it.

John Vik Hi Apiwat:

Could you send us an email on which programs you needed to enter the license key for?

Maybe we can fix it, so others do not have the same problems with these programs.

Thanks (=

Roger Thomasson Folks, this comment board IS NOT the appropriate forum for making litigation threats. That's what lawyers are for.

Period. End of story.

Consider this a new policy. In the future any such threats will be promptly deleted.

Nico Westerdale @Mailing World

Let's just clear up a few things here before your pack of lawyers arrive at my house and turf me out of bed.

1) When you purchase on BitsDuJour you are purchasing directly from the manufacturer not from us. We simply link to the vendor's shopping cart. If you have a problem with serial numbers, registrations or bugs the person legally responsible for these issues is the Vendor, in this case it's Anovasoft. Here's how it all works: http://www.bitsdujour.com/about/

2) John Vik works for Anovasoft and have been, I think, very responsive about answering questions and replying to various license problems that people have had.

3) In my estimation Anovasoft has acted in good faith. They have provided details on how their licensing works and as far as I am aware have not tried to 'fool' anyone. Heck we wouldn't have had them back or stood for it if they did!

4) We keep a pubic comments board so that these issues can be aired, where else can you get in contact with a developer publically and get a quick reply? That doesn't mean that you can use this board for threats of criminal action, that puts us in a sticky situation and that's why we have deleted these posts. We're not judge or jury but we try and be fair, but by posting this you really leave us no choice.

5) If you don't like something don't buy it, and if you have a problem take it up with the developer. On occasion I talk to some of you guys on the and email phone about this type of issue and I'll usually do my best to put you in contact with the developer and see if I can arrange a refund where appropriate on your behalf. I'm happy to do this and sort it out, we want happy customers and good products. Our phone number and contact details are on the site, but if people would rather send legal notices (FYI: so far none have arrived despite the threats) then I'll stop being so nice.

My door's always open, so feel free to take this up with me offline.

Roger Thomasson Because of the issues we've had on the SoftRescue comment board we're requiring that commenters supply us with legitimate email addresses for the duration of the promotion.

Thanks for understanding!

John Vik Hi again.

We have now found a problem in the last version, so we just released a new version before the weekend. This should fix alot of problems.

It is very important when you are restoring your software, that you turn of your anti virus. If you do not do this it will not work.

Appmen Me You may consider to use WET (windows easy transfer) and PickMeApp: two free solutions to migrate from XP to Windows 7. WET may transfer your XP settings to Win 7 while portable PickMeApp tool may transfer programs from XP to Windows 7. PickMeApp claims to support unlimited number of programs.
