I know it makes little sense, but nothing contributes more to the degradation of system performance than normal, plain vanilla computer usage! Day after day, every program that's run, every file that's downloaded, and every website that's visited opens the door to small decreases in performance - even on your best behavior, your machine just doesn't run the same way it did when you booted it up for the first time. Sometimes it's due to a virus. Other times it's a legitimate program that leaks memory, or a driver that sits in the system tray hogging resources. If only you could save time in a bottle...oh, wait, you can. Just use SoftRewind!

SoftRewind lets you set a "rewind point" that gives you the astounding ability to go back in time, to when your computer was running at top speed! With SoftRewind, you can say goodbye to repeated reinstallations of Windows to restore performance. Say you've fallen victim to a particularly nasty computer virus, which despite your best efforts cannot be eradicated - just run SoftRewind and your system will be restored to a problem-free state in minutes! It doesn't matter what system change, program installation, or malware infection is causing your slowdown. SoftRewind zaps your system back to a point where the problem didn't exist!

SoftRewind's simple and intuitive user interface gets you up and running quickly. You can set rewind points easily, and all of your installed applications at that point in time will be preserved. Browse through the list of programs in each rewind point (useful if you know that your problems started right after a specific program installation) - when you find the one you want, REWIND! SoftRewind also provides you with a host of cleanup functions that let you get rid of temporary internet files, unused desktop icons, and empty folders.

Please can you answere these questions :
On http://www.softrewind.com/ I read about a license for only 1 year, is that the license which is offered here ?
Also you may use this programm on 4 PC's; does this mean 4 PC's at the same time ?

Thank you,
Robert

John Vik After 1 year it stops working. Then you have to buy a new license on discount to get it to work again.

It works on Windows 7.

Edgar DeVoor Not a lot of details at the website. Is this a sandbox program? Can I save files between sessions? Can I apply Windows updates and have them saved for next reboot? A "How it works" page would be helpful.

John Vik SoftRewind is not a sandbox application. You can create snapshots between software and windows updates installations. As one of the features in SoftRewind you can select and add file types you want to keep after rewind.

We are currently working on an online help file that describes all the features. In the meanwhile you can try the demo version to see how everything works. SoftRewind is extremely easy to understand and use.

Jack Longhorn Maybe I am missing something, but how is this software different from System Restore that already comes with Windows XP and Vista?

John Vik The difference between SoftRewind and System Restore is that SoftRewind cleans up you computer.
System Restore leaves most of the files, and LOADS of registry keys. And System Restore takes only certain files and keys.

On the other hand SoftRescue uses our technology which deletes all unnecessary files and registry keys. And SoftRewind also fixes many accumulated Windows problems, and slowness.

The 1 year period starts the first time you start SoftRewind.

Michael Mortimer Rob Jansen... good eye on the licensing. I don't know about anyone else, but I now avoid "renting" software. I suspect developers don't stop to think how expensive it is to license software every year.

I now only buy programs that I own for the life of the product. Anything that stops working after a year and forces me to renew at my expense, that's a big NOPE.

One time I was looking at a backup program that had the yearly license requirement. Allowed unlimited use, but if you didn't pay up the next year, you did not get access to your files. Talk about hostage taking.

That's why I don't "rent" any of those online backup services. You don't pay, you lose your files.

Just something to think about. If you have four or five programs that require annual payment to keep them working, one year rolls around every few months.

Dave Smith I would have to agree with Michael. But no where on bitsdujour.com does it mention this software is subscription based. The norm is it's yours to use until you decide not to use it any longer. This, to me is just another internet trick. While I wasn't so interested in this program, I wonder if other software offered on bitsdujour.com has a trick too?
