What are people saying about Sophos Home Premium

Doug Atkinson Sophos is a long time Enterprise Anti-Virus company who has just recently (last few years) expanded into the home market. They purchased Surfrite and incorporated technologies from HitManPro into their already good Anti-Virus software. The management interface is Web based - which is handy when you're protecting 5 home computers as you can change settings for each PC from a single interface, but it is a bit of a pain when you're offline and Sophos detects a "potentially unwanted program (PuP)" and quarantines it and you can't un-quarantine it until you go online. I've been using Sophos Premium the past couple of years on my Windows 10 machine and it is not too intrusive and seems to work well.

Roger Fine My son turned me on to this security software a couple of years ago. He has been in banking network security for many years and told me that this software is the closest to a corporate level of security of any home implementations that he has seen. It doesn’t seem to slow down daily computer usage as many others I have tried. It covers all the modern security issues very well. The only negative issue I have is that the latest version does not allow you to turn of PUA (potentially application) detection. If it detects something you must click on the notification pop-up and “allow it” via the dashboard. I would rather turn off PUA detection.
Bottom line is if you want near corporate level security for your home computers, this is the best game in town!
