S B This is *very* highly rated, and apparently uses community input as well as white- and black-lists, so there no bayesian/content filter training. A few questions, please:

0) One of the screenshots shows a "filter sensitivity" setting: what filter does this adjust?

1) is it possible for messages sent from someone to just a few recipients to be falsely classified as SPAM? (i.e., do I need to regularly look through the SPAM list for non-spam emails)

2) does the trial version modify outgoing emails by adding a message?

3) why are outgoing emails checked? Can this be suppressed?

4) what kinds of information is collected and maintained? Is there a privacy statement for SPAMfighter Pro?

5) how does SPAMfighter Pro compare to Cloudmark DesktopOne Pro?

Lori Raygoza Hi SB, I'll try my best to answer your questions. 0) The "filter sensitivity" setting adjusts the severity of the checksum comparison against what has been labeled as spam by the SPAMfighter community. 1) It is highly unlikely, but possible, for this to occur. No spam filter is 100% accurate so it is good practice to check your spam box once in a while. 2) During the 30-day trial period, you are using SPAMfighter Pro without any trial limitations nor messages. After the 30-day trial period, SPAMfighter changes to "free" mode where a message is added to the footer of each email. 3) We do not scan outgoing emails. 4) You may read our privacy policy here: http://www.spamfighter.co...tement.asp 5) I have yet to try Cloudmark DesktopOne so I cannot give you an accurate comparison. Cloudmark DesktopOne is a much newer product than SPAMfighter Pro, so I can only say that our community of spam fighters is likely much larger. If our positive reviews and the Bits du Jour discount promotion are not enough to encourage you to make a purchase with confidence, I would recommend that you evaluate our trials and decide for yourself. S B Lori/Eugene, Thank you very much for your prompt and helpful reply. I assume that SPAMfighter Pro does not send out any email content, except that which I identify as uncaught SPAM. Things that I identify as uncaught SPAM does goes out and gets added to the community knowledgebase. Yes? It looks like SPAMfighter Pro may "just be the ticket"! Thanks, again!

Lori Raygoza @SB - Technically, SPAMfighter does not send any email content to our servers, rather a few encrypted blocks of data or checksum. If enough SPAMfighter users mark an email as being spam, it is prevented from reaching the inbox from other users in the community. @Rael Bauer - SPAMfighter does not work with the portable version of Thunderbird at this time. If you live in Australia, then better too buy this product in US Dollars for USD$14.50, as the Australian exchange rate price is $AUD$21.50

Current AUD to USD is about AUD$1.00 to USD$0.895, but the Australian exchange rate to US dollars offered here is approx AUD $1.00 to USD $0.674 (ouch! thats very steep commission rates)
