Dor Mouse This is an excellent program and well worth buying here even if only to show appreciation to the developer.

If anyone wants to see a recent review set, it is worth looking here - http://www.neatnettricks....splash.htm

K H I installed this about 30 minutes ago. After 5 minutes I knew I wanted it. I was surprised by the sound quality. Yep, even my untrained ear can tell the difference between WMP and this darling. Just being able to so easily access the huge list of radio stations would make it worth the price. I haven't tried ripping or converting yet, but I'll have plenty of time for that later because as soon as deal day comes around, it will be mine for keeps.

Vitaly Kravchenko IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Due to currency conversion you may have seen a smaller than advertised discount on the buy page after entering the coupon code. This is because the discount amount was set in USD (10 USD) which is 51% from the original price of 19.95 USD, but is only 45% from the European price of 15.95 EUR.
I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
This issue is now fixed and supported currencies now are:
United States Dollars
Brazil Reais
Canada Dollars
China Yuan Renminbi
Egypt Pounds
Euro
Japan Yen
Mexico Pesos
Russia Rubles
If your currency is not supported, consider choosing one of these on the buy page.

Thank you.

Vitaly Kravchenko Australia Dollars and United Kingdom Pounds currencies have been just added as well.

Tim Toyd do you get lifetime updates ,if i buy this program?

Jul 1 2009 at 8:49am Copy Link

Vitaly Kravchenko Yes, this has always been so with Spider Player. Should this policy ever change (unlikely), it will only affect new users.

VIT Software, LLC - Jul 1 2009 at 9:03am Copy Link

Guy Simmons Have always found tech support excellent. Don't really need the pro version, but at this price it would be rude not to support the program...so I did.

Jul 1 2009 at 12:31pm Copy Link

Bron Faison This is an awesome little player and a steal at this price! The internet radio record feature alone is worth the price and many much more expensive programs that do nothing but that are being sold everyday.

There are tutorials and doc on the web site to help you learn, but I did not find it hard at all. Very similar to other players. It uses very little system RAM and resources, even with software 32-bit quality enabled. It sounds great.

The license is very generous and the main reason I decided to buy this (I already have several other players). I always tend to buy things with a lifetime upgrade policy, and the generous 'license to user' policy is wonderful. This should be the standard for all software.

A great player at an incredibly fair price. If you did not get it this round, hope they offer it again soon!

No. Spider Player is all about audio.

Victor Kamikubo Excellent player. One of the features that should be mentioned is that there are also portable and U3 versions for those of us that don't have administrative rights.

Jan 8 2010 at 1:44am Copy Link

Vitaly Kravchenko Thanks, Victor. That's right. No need to install/uninstall the app and machine's registry is always clean. Just plug in your USB drive and play!

Bob R When I download (via Try before you buy) I get the Spider Player version 2.3.10 and not the Pro version to try out.
Why is this ?
How do i download the Pro version to try out?

Jan 9 2010 at 3:35am Copy Link

Vitaly Kravchenko Hi Bob,
You mean the Basic version? This is because the Basic version already has some of the features of the PRO version. For example, radio recording is already there, but it's limited to 5 minutes of continuous operation and recorded streams don't sound as good as original ones. Another example is CD ripping and audio converting features -- in Basic version you can't do batch jobs and have to rip/convert tracks one by one. So Basic version lets you test most of the PRO features, but only PRO version lets you enjoy their full potential.

Daniel Walker So ... If I bought it last Summer - How do I choose the correct download to upgrade to the 'current' version?

I don't see any comments on the website referring to upgrades.

Jan 10 2010 at 5:18pm Copy Link

Vitaly Kravchenko @Daniel

Here is a quote from our wiki:
Spider Player uses a single installer for both Basic and PRO versions. It's the registration key that tells the program in which mode to operate: Basic or PRO. So when a new version is out, you still have to download the Basic version installer, even if you are a registered user. There is no need to register the program with your key every time you upgrade, though. Spider Player will detect your registration key automatically and turn itself into a PRO version.

Tom tips I would like to see it on top of the player were it just says Spider.could you change it to spider pro. after you upgarde to pro?

Regards

Tom

Jan 10 2010 at 7:47pm Copy Link

Vitaly Kravchenko @YO YO
You can do this now by creating a shortcut in the Startup folder and specifying a file/playlist you want Spider to play in shortcut's options, like this:
C:\Users\Vitaly\Documents\Spider\Spider.exe "D:\Music\mypl.m3u"
So next time Windows starts you'll hear your playlist playing.

Spider automatically checks for updates every time you run it.

e.g. johndoe:swordfish@xmradio.com:80

Default playlist is always saved in the folder where Spider saves all its other settings:
"C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Application Data\Spider Player" (for Windows XP)
"C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Spider Player" (for Windows Vista/7)

Ned Kelly Two questions:

1:
Can SpiderPlayerPRO apply *cover art* to the ID3 tags? I couldn't see any examples of that on your site or in your screen shots.

2:
Can a single purchase of the PRO be used both on my desktop computer and also on my laptop computer?

.

Jul 6 2010 at 7:13pm Copy Link

Vitaly Kravchenko 1. Cover art is not supported.
2. Yes, if you are the only user, otherwise you need a family license.

VIT Software, LLC - Jul 6 2010 at 7:56pm Copy Link

DrTeeth You have GOT to get this. I was happy with the basic version but bought this the last time it was here to support the developer. The support is top-notch and he is very open to suggestions. It is also the best music player there is without having irrelevant extra fluff (i.e. bloat).

You'll hate yourself if you don't buy it.

Jul 9 2010 at 1:11pm Copy Link

Ned Kelly I have just purchased Spider Player PRO and got the e-mail that contained a link for the download.

The download in the link is version 2.3.11 but on the Spider Player website the version is 2.4.5

Should I install the 2.4.5 one from the Spider Player web site rather than the 2.3.11 one from the e-mail from Bits du Jour?

Jul 9 2010 at 5:27pm Copy Link

Glen Hilton Nice clear and a well designed UI, plenty of useful user options and with this offer its seems like a very worthwhile app that should come in handy. Thanks.

Bob S Hi - I purchased when this was last offered on bits du jour. I do like the interface; however, I've recently had problems w/ the application crashing. Would the new version correct this? Thanks.

Jul 9 2010 at 6:29pm Copy Link

Vitaly Kravchenko @Ned,
Yes, please go ahead and install the latest version from the website. Sorry about the link to the older version. Just fixed it.

@Guy and Glen, thank you very much for your comments!

Vitaly Kravchenko @Bob S, Sure, could you please email to contact (at) spider-player (dot) com and tell more about how/when it happens?

VIT Software, LLC - Jul 9 2010 at 6:36pm Copy Link

Dan P Great product. It's a step up from what I was using before and well worth the $9.95 to register.

Jul 9 2010 at 10:57pm Copy Link

Bob S Hi, I purchased Spider Player Pro when offered on bits du jour on Jan. 11, 2010. Is the upgrade to the new version free? or do I have to purchase to get the new version? Thank you.

Jul 10 2010 at 3:45pm Copy Link

Stan In the description above you can see: " Free upgrades for life"

Jul 10 2010 at 4:09pm Copy Link

Bob S Thanks, Stan. Unfortunately, the link above is for an earlier version and the download link on Spider Pro's website appears to require reordering (one is taken to an order page). Spider Player Developer, can you provide instructions on how to upgrade? I don't see an upgrade link on the website.

Jul 10 2010 at 4:14pm Copy Link

Stephane M Based on my understanding and on what I read on the website you just need to download the free version ("GET BASIC" button on the download page) and install it over yours.
It will know you are registered user and will turn the free version into the pro automatically.
The product has free upgrades for life so you do not need to buy a new license for it.
