What are people saying about SpyShelter Firewall

David Vaughan This appears to be a good product with lots of good reviews.

Will the annual renewal price be discounted ($10/year) or will it renew at the standard price ($37/year)?

Thanks, ~David

_*_ Will you ever offer a lifetime license version of this product, or at least give an offer for more years at a reduced price?

SpyShelter Premium is an excellent product that I have come to depend to be there for my computer protection.

Emil Kucera The fine print says "License can be used for Personal use only", while your website shows Firewall with "Corporate and personal use". Which is correct? More specifically, what will you consider legal for a one-man office-at-home business?

Datpol Look closer on our website. There are two types of licenses. Personal and Business. License in this deal is for Personal use only.

Emil Kucera Thank you. I only looked at the Downloads page at first, not the Purchase one. For a one-man business with two machines to protect, the Business licence gets too expensive with no discount. Pity.

_*_ Well, if not lifetime license, it would be great to see a multi-year license offer here at discount.

One year, and then pay 30+ dollars is a bit steep since this is more than I pay for my Bitdefender Total Security 2015.

Datpol @Danny
We rarely do any sales of lifetime licenses.

Upgrading SpyShelter Premium lifetime to SpyShelter Firewall lifetime costs 10€.
If you look at our website and check the pricing, you will notice that the difference between Premium and Firewall lifetime license is 5€.

The reason why we charge 10€ are fees and taxes that we need to cover on this particular transaction.

@_*_
You can always keep your eye out for sales like this one, we do this couple times a year with BitsDuJour therefore extending your license for a couple of dollars is still possible. Bitdefender is a different type of application and it does completely different job compared to SpyShelter.

If someone upgrade from Lifetime Premium to Lifetime Firewall, it may happens that this someone may want, for a reason or another, to downgrade afterwhile to Lifetime Premium.

May that someone still use his Lifetime Premium key without any additional fee ?

I want to say here that this doesn't concern the use of these keys on more than one computer (if the license if for one computer) : it really concerns the use of one or the other key on the same and only one computer.

Thank you.

_*_ @Datpol, I own SpyShelter Premium lifetime currently, and it is a very nice program. I am very interested in the upgrade to Firewall Lifetime, but would like to know if it invalidates my SpyShelter Premium lifetime license or not?

I am not sure I would want to lose that honestly. Could they both be used/maintained by the user as two separate programs with lifetime licenses?

How does it work to upgrade and what is the impact or result of upgrading to Firewall Lifetime?

Also, is there a direct link to upgrade like this?

Thank you.

Datpol @Sputnik @Danny @_*_

In case when you upgrade to SpyShelter Firewall lifetime license, your SpyShelter Premium license will get deactivated.

About downgrading: we never had actually a customer who wanted to do that. This is because you can turn SpyShelter Firewall into SpyShelter Premium by disabling a couple of action codes.

If you wish to upgrade to SpyShelter Firewall lifetime license, simply go to https://www.spyshelter.com/helpdesk/ and create a ticket with a request to upgrade. You should receive a link a to purchase new license in ~24 hours, depending on how busy the Support Staff is.

_*_ @Datpol, thank you for the answer and link.

I would like to ask one other question.

Does SpyShelter Premium or Firewall do what KeyScrambler does?

That is, and I quote from their website, "KeyScrambler encrypts every key you type deep in the Windows kernel. It protects your private info against both known and unknown keylogging malware on millions of websites and in hundreds of essential applications."

Because I see in SSP the menu item "Keystrokes Encryption".

Thanks

Thank you for your answer, what you say is something I have expected.

The reason why I asked you this question is because I am perfectly aware of the problems someone may have with security softwares.

Recently I had some problems with my long time favorite firewall, COMODO, and I had to install a new replacement solution.

I tried Online Armor Free, which is a very good firewall, but it conflicted with Sandboxie.

I then installed Outpost Firewall Pro, for which I have a Lifetime License, but I had with it some problems of another kind.

I finally installed Privatefirewall, and everything is now running OK.

SpyShelter Firewall and all these firewalls, except Online Armor Free which doesn't appear in the test, are on the top of the list of Matousec's Proactive Security Challenge 64 :
http://www.matousec.com/p...esults.php

All the firewalls I have tested have been installed on a fresh restoration of a backup image that includes all my softwares, except the security softwares, because the security softwares frequently causes problems when you uninstall them to install a replacement solution : many of these softwares leave remnants in the registry, which sometimes are almost impossible to eradicate.

I want to stress here that all the firewalls I have spoke about have all caused problems at a moment or at another and all have also worked correctly at a moment or at another.

Also, by experience, I am perfectly aware that a problem someone may have with a firewall at a given moment, his neighbor may not get it at the very same moment.

As good as SpyShelter Firewall may be, as per Matousec's Proactive Security Challenge 64, it may happens that the Firewall's section may causes problems at a moment or another in the future and that I will be obliged to install a different firewall.

What I am afraid of, by getting an upgrade to SpyShelter Firewall in such a context, is if I just unactivate the firewall section, any other firewall I would try to install afterwhile would recognize the presence of SpyShelter's Firewall and would refuse to install itself.

Under these circumstances, I would have to uninstall completely SpyShelter Firewall, but unfortunately with all the anti-keylogger features that I would completely lose.

In that perspective I think that if I would have the possibility to install SpyShelter Premium instead of SpyShelter Firewall before installing a new firewall solution on a fresh restoration of a backup image which doesn't contain any security software, it would gives me better chances to avoid any problem.

From the moment one would get an upgrade to SpyShelter Firewall, would it be possible for you to think about an easy way for your customers to switch back and forth from SpyShelter Firewall to SpyShelter Premium, or from SpyShelter Premium to SpyShelter Firewall again, without any additional fee ?

The reason I ask this question is not because I am not sure of what I really want, it is because I perfectly know that a very good security software that does not cause any problem at a given moment may cause some at another moment, which brings yourself to uninstall this sofware for installing a replacement solution and that, a couple of weeks or months later I may wish to check if that problem still exist or not by installing again the once previous faultive software.

I know that there would be the possibility of buying a full new license of SpyShelter Firewall but that represents a lot of money if you add it on top of what you already payed for SpyShelter Premium's Lifetime License.

If there is no possibility to easily switch back and forth from SpyShelter Firewall to SpyShelter Premium, or from SpyShelter Premium to SpyShelter Firewall again, I would maybe prefer to stay only with SpyShelter Premium.

Thank you.

Chris Is this a firewall? Will it interfere with other firewalls like Norton 360? If so, is this better then Norton 360? I have lifetime Spyshelter Premium and would upgrade to lifetime Firewall if it doesn't interfere or is better then Norton 360.

I highly recommend that you install the free trial of our software. It has all features unlocked and does not require any registration at all.

If you are unhappy with SpyShelter Firewall license we can downgrade it to Premium license for free or simply issue a refund within 14 days after payment.

In that context I will stay with SpyShelter Premium only, which is a very good product, I will not lose its license by upgrading to SpyShelter Firewall.

There are other very good firewalls out there as I said earlier : COMODO, Outpost Pro, Online Armor and Privatefirewall.

You can either disable specific Firewall actions or whole Firewall module.

As I said, it would be the best for you to test it first. For free.

Citation :

"You can either disable specific Firewall actions or whole Firewall module."

As I told in an earlier comment, if there is a problem with the firewall module of SpyShelter Firewall, to unactivate this module might just be unsufficient in order to install a new firewall which would maybe refuse to install itself because of the presence of SpyShelter Firewall.

In that situation I would be obliged to fully uninstall SpyShelter and I would lose not only the firewall module but also the anti-keylogger module.

Maybe that the unactivation of the firewall module would be sufficient, but nobody can absolutely assure that this will be the case...

Having the possibility to freely switch back and forth from SpyShelter Premium to SpyShelter Firewall and from SpyShelter Firewall to SpyShelter Premium when this would be needed would be the ideal.

Citation :

"As I said, it would be the best for you to test it first. For free."

This is of no use because it may happens that SpyShelter Firewall would be perfect at the moment I would buy it but that a month or a couple of months later it may cause troubles, or the contrary, and as I said, I will not lose my SpyShelter Premium Lifetime License by playing toss heads or tails.

You seem to think that your products don't provoke any trouble at all in any computer or that it will never provoke any. I have to say that I have been obliged to uninstall SpyShelter Premium for a couple of months last year because I was having problems with it that were resolved by its uninstallation. The same could happen with SpyShelter Firewall...

Chris @ Datpol ~ you didn't answer any of my questions. You just told me to install the program.
Also, what _*_ said about the firewall wanting to uninstall premium before it can be installed.

All I wanted to know is if this is a firewall and if it would interfere with Norton 360. Also would it interfere with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware.

Thanks,,,,,

I agree with you on this.

I think that Datpol should think about such a promotion where there would be a 30 to 40 % reduction on the SpyShelter Firewall's Lifetime License for anybody who don't possess a SpyShelter Premium's Lifetime License an maybe a 50 to 60 % reduction for the customers who already possess such a license.

The buying of such a license under this perspective would not unactivate the SpyShelter Premium's Lifetime License and it would be possible to install SpyShelter Premium on a computer and SpyShelter Firewall on another computer.

Datpol @Chris

The fact that you seem to use 3 different security application is the exact reason why I recommended testing out free trial. SpyShelter offers different kind of protection than those 3 applications you listed, and the more security software is present on your PC the higher the risk of incompatibility is (higher risk of interference between applications).

Normally SpyShelter Firewall is compatible with them all, but as I said, we cannot predict if the software is going to work for you since every PC config is different. This is why we offer the free trial with all features unlocked.

SpyShelter Firewall/Premium Rules list can be exported during uninstallation and should be automatically imported to the new installation.
