Check Gold Free trial goes to online version. But...

Can't do anything there. No paste or ^V. Load SQL from file is disabled.

Tried in FF and IE.

John Gee @Check Gold

Worked fine for me in FF and Iron. Have you got JRE installed?

I treied a few of my scratchy SELECTs and they do look much better and more readable formatted.
I may just purchase!

Guido Thelen HI Check Gold,
the online test version is a Java applet. Sometimes security policies do not allow to paste the content of the system clipboard to paste content into the applet. Any chance to change the security settings?

Gu.The Software - Mar 5 2011 at 8:13pm Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Check Gold,
are you able to choose the "Example SQL" in the Info menu?
Regards
Guido

Gu.The Software - Mar 5 2011 at 8:43pm Copy Link

Check Gold Yes the example works fine. Nothing else.

Tell me what to change and I'll change it!

Mar 5 2011 at 9:20pm Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Cehck Gold, great that the example is working. This means that your PC satisfies the system requirements for the desktop version. NOw, for the solution for the cu&paste issue depends on whether you changed anything in the Java system console or Internet Explorer security settings. If you changed anything in these setting you could try to restore the standard values.

Gu.The Software - Mar 5 2011 at 9:59pm Copy Link

Check Gold I didn't change anything knowingly.

If I am the only one with issues, don't worry about it.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens I'd like to use SQLinForm with SQL statements within PHP scripts. Unfortunately that doesn't work when the PHP code looks like this (even when I use the proper option for "Input SQL"):

$sql = "SELECT id, name FROM ".$table." WHERE age ".$age;

The result looks like this:

sql = "" .
"SELECT " .
" id, " .
" name " .
"FROM " .
"WHERE " .
" age "

So the variables are missing. Will there be a solution for that in the future?

Mar 6 2011 at 3:56am Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Jan-Christoph,
no chance to put the var names inside the double-quotes? SQLinForm extracts and formats the SQL code inside the double quotes

Guido

Jan-Christoph Ihrens Hi Guido,

if I want to edit other people's code manually, I don't need SQLinForm... ;-)

SQLinForm seems to recognize that the SQL code doesn't end after "FROM ", so why shouldn't it be possible to take over the missing parts unchanged?

Cheers,
Jan

Guido Thelen Hi Jan-Christoph,
the current version of SQLinForm takes the same paring rule for all programming languages, i.e. SQLinForm assumes that the SQL code can be found between a special token (mostly double-quotes). Anything inside these tokens is seen as SQL code. Anything outside is seen as pgm code. I must admit that it is an interesting new option to be added to parse according to the pgmming language used.
Thx
Guido

Jan-Christoph Ihrens Hi Guido,

I must admit that it is an interesting new option to be added
to parse according to the pgmming language used.

That would be very nice. I'll check back later; when this feature is integrated I'll probably buy SQLinForm (even without discount ;-) ).

Cheers,
Jan

Don Canaan Is it possible for a website operator without a knowledge of MYSql to use this product to convert a MySql 2.3 database (with phpadmin) to MySql 5 so that it can be put onto a godaddy hosted website?

Or can someone do this for me? Please get in touch with me dcanaan4

gmail.com

Thanks

Guido Thelen Hi Don,
SQLinForm is designed to reformat the layout of the SQL but will not convert the SQL code from MySQL 2.3 to MySQL 5

Alecio Maduro Is there a same deal on the site license?
If not, is there an upgrade path from single user to site license?

Aug 14 2011 at 5:58am Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Alecio,
when people first buy the desktop single user license and within a short time of period (1 or 2 weeks) want to upgrade to a site license, then I reimburse the amount of the single user license.
There is no deal for the site license.

Rafi Galibov Trying the 'trial' version on Mac OS X Mountain Lion with JRE 1.6 but browser plug-in 1.7 & standalone version does not display the newly formatted SQL (it looks like it is doing something, but nothing new displays)
Is this a Java issue??
I'd like to get this, but if I can't be sure it will work on my platform, then it's no good...

Nov 25 2012 at 9:24am Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Rafi,
the trial version (desktop version without registration) is not formatting the SQL.

There are already many Mac users working with SQLinForm.

If it will not work on your Mac I will reimburse you of course.

Guido

Jonathan Keener Looks like a great program. Does this have any support for formatting Salesforce.coms custom SOQL language, which is based on SQL?

http://www.salesforce.com...s_soql.htm

The specific syntax of Salesforces SOQL SELECT is http://www.salesforce.com...select.htm

Jun 30 2013 at 6:04am Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Jonathan, looking to your link I guess SQLinForm should recognise most of the keywords as they are identical to pure SQL syntax. Just give it a try using the online version of SQLinForm at http://sqlinform.com/free_online_sw.html

Guido Thelen Hi Michale, just send me an example of the desired output format and I will add it with the next release.

Many thanks

SFuji The fine print says single user, can I use a single license for my home desktop, laptop and work desktop if I am the only user?

Jul 1 2013 at 8:48am Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Stanley, yes, you can use it at home, in the office, at client site, etc. on as many computers as you want. The SW is licensed on your name.

KHood Hello, will I be able to install this software on both my MAC at home and the Win laptop I use at the office or will I have to purchase 2 separate licenses? Thank you!

Kim

Feb 23 2014 at 1:08am Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Kim,
the single user license is for one user independently from the number of computers, MACs, laptops, netbooks at home, in your office at your clients site. Therefore you need only one single license.

Guido

Alan Does this run on Windows 8?

Feb 23 2014 at 2:48pm Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi Alan,
the only system requirement for SQLinForm is a Java Runtime Environment. As Java runs on Windows 8, SQLinForm will do so too.

Guido

Alan I purchased the product, received an email with my license info, but it didn't have an actual license file like the program wants.
I created a license file based on the information in the email, but it just keeps saying I need to registrate (?) my desktop app.
No idea what to do.
Have tried contacting developer, but no answer yet.

sorry for the inconveniences. Maybe my mail was moved into your spam folder?

Jim Parker Does this also work as an editor or do I have to cut/paste into it to format then cut/paste to another program?

Jan 18 2015 at 2:23pm Copy Link

Guido Thelen Hi,
the editing is mainly done in other programs. In windows there is the hotkey feature to format the highlighted SQL in your editor with 1 hot key. There is also the task bar feature to format the clipboard content with 1 click
