Bradley MacDonald I purchased this a few months ago. Nice set of Graphics. There are a number of ones that are very close or similar - BUT there are also a good number that are different.

If you are looking for images to use in buttons, etc for developing applications - this is a good place to start. I am happy with the purchase.

Thanks for talking with me on the phone, as we discussed the vector formats do cost extra, they are normally $939.00 and we have a huge reduction on that today. Bob S This may be a naive question, but are these images large enough to use for other purposes, in addition to icons? What is the largest "high resolution" image that comes w/ the offer today? In the large example above, four images are shown, with the largest being approx. 1" - that would be great, if that size is included w/ each.

Maybe you could consider an option (with a lower price) for a private user, who would like just to replace some system icons, use them for a dock application or replace icons in applications that allow it.
Additional limitations could be applied: license only for private, non-commercial use, exclude vector formats and the software, exclude the biggest size (256), contain just PNG and ICO?

I consider myself an icon expert (not as a designer but from the point of view of a software developer). I know that designing large beautiful icons is not that difficult. The art lies in the designing of smaller sizes (esp. 16x16 but also 32x32), which are usually very difficult to master.

The problem with realistic icons is that just scaling down vectorized formats to 16x16 usually makes them very blurry if not entirely unrecognizable.

Unfortunately, if as a software developer you go with a certain big icon pack, you have to make sure to get the full range or otherwise you will need to deal with style breaks or have to pay for custom work as far as smaller sizes are concerned. Both wouldn't really make me happy. Of course, as a private user I might not care much about 16x16 versions.

So my question is: Do you guys optimize smaller sizes (16x16, 32x32) manually or are they just scaled down versions of the vector format? From the sample downloads I see, the 16x16 (at least in the realistic styles) do not look like they have been optimized manually. They do look a bit unfinished and blurry, if I may say so.

Sometimes your descriptions here on bits are a bit fuzzy (or, at least, ambiguous), I'd really like a bit more careful approach to your texts as this avoids time-consuming questions for both you and your customers. Still, thanks a lot for this wonderful service!

qmyg jhwp Great - I'm almost sold then...this is just what I've been looking for :)

All I need now, it to be able to do it:

I download the free tiral - told it to open the exe I want to change
(It came up with an explorer window called "search object")

At the bottom left - I can see the exe listed (under file)
But no icons are displayed - and double-clicking it doesn't do anything.

If I click scan - it find icons from other objects on my pc, but not from the exe I'm hoping to alter.

Does this mean the exe is protected or something...preventing your programme from altering it?

Or do I need to do something else?

Neil Sagitov May be the exe is protected. But for editing icons in the exe you should open it as library. Go to the menu File-Open Library. In the library window you can select icon to edit.

Jan Desaer Is the "Cover Commander" and "AWIcons Pro" also included for the price of $49,50? When I fill in the form to order, I can only see the icon set on the invoice and not the 2 software tools.

kindly tell the softwares or whatever is included, and vector softwares - what are they ?

Vector files can be used to edit icons, create new icons, change sizes, colors without losing of quality. This allows you to also use the icons for things such as brochures and leaflets of high quality. Regardless of the size of the icons you need, you can easily blow up the size of the vector images and then convert them to a raster image if required. Adobe Illustration 10 or higher (or compatible software) is required. Sample vector icon you can find in the demo icons on the site.

Paul Heinrich Just purchased. Was just considering buying a new cover commander license, to get all the icon packs as well and AWIcons for less than the price of the cover commander license is just a great deal. I was able to produce covers for my site and products with very little effort:

If these are in the industry standard .svg vector image format I know I can use my existing software; if they are in some other format, maybe not.

Mark Johnson Actually I think I found the answers to my questions on your website.
If you could confirm that would be great.
It looks like the vector graphics are in .ai format, which is an abode proprietary format for Adobe Illustrator.
I do have 'Inkscape', which will read .ai format and can convert it, so I should be good there.
In answer to my other question "Does the included software allow for editing/using/resizing the vector files?" -- it looks like the answer is no, a purchaser would have to already own software that can use .ai files.

If the above info is correct, I recommend your company also make available to purchasers the industry standard .svg format for the vector graphics. I believe all vector graphics software can read/use .svg format files, but only a handful of software can read/use .ai files. By offering .svg format to purchasers you might increase sales.

If you can confirm the vector graphics are in .ai format (or another common format) I'll go ahead and make the purchase.

Hawkeye I noticed AWiconsPro hasn't been updated in awhile, 2.5 years. Has this been tested with Windows 7, x64? I have found a few major issues, listed below.

1. Program Crashes when searching for Objects.
2. Issues with when opening a JPG to create an icon.

When searching, by clicking on the Search Object, I immediately get a a window that AWicons 10.3 has stopped working, everytime.

Event: AppCrash
Fault Module Name: StackHash_abcc
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0

If I try to open an icon and then click on Search Object, it will then attempt to get build the icons in the Search Object window. More times than not, it will crash like the above, with the following.

Event: AppCrash
Fault Module Name: AWiconsPro.exe
Fault Module Version: 10.3.0.0

Display Issues when opening a JPG
When loading, a JPG of small image, the image loads fine, but all you see is the upper left hand portion of the image. It would be hard to edit. It appears, the icon is fine when saving and looks fine. However, when you try to reload it, all you see is the upper left portion of the image again.

Config Info: Windows 7 SP1 x64 - Fully Updated

Can you comment on the above issues. I haven't tested the program further than what is being reported, above. When will a new version be released?
