Sam Hi Thomas,

The software looks good and seems to have potential. Is it possible to attach files to these notes? Also can you please comment on the underlying database used so that I can get an idea of how it would manage large amounts of data.

MoonGlow Software Hi Sam,

You cannot attach files at this time but it is something I will look into. You can import text into the notes in either .txt or .rtf formats.

The database in an SQL Compact database. Microsoft says it can handle up to 4 gigs.

_*_ I was unable to get the program demo to start, so was not able to give it a go.

I am no longer a student, but wondered if the scheduling feature and calendar feature would be helpful.

Also, does this have a place for an address book?

Finally, after going to your website I see you have a program "Finance Manager" that is offered at half price when someone purchases Student Organizer. Will this offer hold true as well during this sale?

In a future update is possible to make the font larger overall in the program?

For older eyes it is not an easy program to read the text, and numbers in as it stands.

_*_ I am no longer a student, but still like the looks of this program.

I am still unable to get the program to launch, but here are my thoughts.

I am wondering if the program would lead itself to tracking Home Maintenance: work to be completed, upcoming maintenance (clean gutters, check foundation, winterize, etc.), contractor (rating, work, address), etc.?

I would dearly like to see the program in action.

Anyway, just a thought as an alternative way to use the product for non-students, or an idea for you for a future program! :o)

MoonGlow Software I don't know why it wouldn't start for you. It has been tested on several machines running Windows 7 and 8, both 32 and 64 bit versions, and XP SP3 with no problems. I see your using Windows 7 Ultimate, the test computers had the Home and Professional versions. That shouldn't make a difference but I will definitely research it.

I don't think the program would work well for tracking home maintenance. It's setup more around the unique life and schedule of a student.

That is a good idea for a future product though :)

MoonGlow Software This is just a quick note to say hello and to thank everyone for your interest.

I am currently putting the finishing touches on the next version update which should be out in the next week or two. This update will make the program a bit more flexible and easier to use.

For example, In the current version, there are fixed Grade Weight Categories, such as "Homework", "Test", "Projects", etc. In the next version these categories can be edited. You can create a master list of categories and only assign the ones you need to each class. The same is true for the categories used for other calendar events. You will now be able to customize these categories to your needs.

There are also improvements to the lecture recorder allowing you to append a new recordings to a previous one.

Bob McLain Thomas - can you address the issue of the software not working on the Windows 7 machines of several posters (and probably others who haven't posted)?

I've know you've tested it on Windows 7 yourself, but clearly there's a problem.

opayq opayq Works perfectly fine so far, on Win 8 64 bit. I was looking for a good software like this. Starting to love it; the more I use it. P.S: Just one drawback; I don't like software vendors asking address and phone number during purchase :). Besides that, all fine. Thanks again.

Bob McLain I just tried to install the software on a Win 8 laptop, and it works fine. But still not on a Win 7 desktop or laptop. It seems like really useful software for a great price, so I'll buy it for the Win 8 laptop and hope that a fix is in the works for Win 7.

I've been working on the issue.but so far I haven't come up with a reason for it working on some Windows 7 machines and not others.

It's particularly strange that the problem seems to be with Windows 7 as it was developed on Windows 7.

For me it acts like it will start but it does not (no launch screen of any nature). What happens is the Scheduler appears to launch, and then minimize to the Notification Icon area, but it will not launch if I click on it.

It is not listed in the Process tab either.

Bob McLain For what's it worth, before I installed the new version of the software, I used Revo Pro to uninstall the first version and did a deep scan to ensure that none of the original DLLs or other files remained.

Bob McLain Sorry, but no luck with any of the new releases. I will, however, buy the software for my Win-8 laptop (maybe that'll give me a reason to use that laptop more often!).

Even though the issue couldn't be fixed, I'm REALLY impressed by the support and by the developer's efforts. You don't see that so often. Well done!

And thank you for your help. I WILL get this resolved.

The license allows for installation on three computers so once I get the problem fixed you can simply backup the database to a USB drive, transfer it to the other computer and restore from there. The program has a backup/restore utility built in.

Also, the installer I uploaded in trying to fix this is actually the next version of the program. It's done except for the obvious problem and the help file. The documentation will not quite match the program for the "Scores" and "Lecture Recording" sections of the main form, and the "Add New Class" form.

I should have all this resolved in a week or two, so just re-download the installer from the website and re-install.
