What are people saying about SwordSearcher Bible Software

Al Smith I've been using SwordSearcher software for over 5 years now and like it's ease of operation and it's packed with study aids and maps. When I'm trying to recall a particular verse, if I can remember two or three of the words, SwordSearcher will find it instantaniously.

Curt de Thurah Still not worth the money, all content is old and free everywhere else.

Steven Avery Hi Folks,

Actually you usually get a program like this not for 'original content' (tons of good content on the web) but for ease-of-use and quick search and good interface, logical Bible-concordance-lexicon design, also sometimes for notes and writing helps. And ironically the smaller programs can be much more usable than the $250 + heavyweights with all the content and advertising and long loading times and windows-upon-windows.

My friends and research indicates that Brandon's SwordSearcher is right up there with the very best. So I plan to use this Bits today, with a thank you to BDJ.

Shalom,
Steven

Barry Long Note: Is this a complete bilbe set of the old and new testament or just a word search with dictionary etc. Please E'mail me if it's the bible word for word, and if it is what version King James, etc.

xCurt SwordSearcher really is a great program, but because of the laws of copyright the CD cannot offer material younger than 70 years of age, and most if it is much older!

Brandon Staggs There are two things someone gets when they buy SwordSearcher:

1. The software -- one of the most flexible and nimble search programs available, plus dozens of other functions that aid in Bible study, sermon prep, and Bible teaching prep.

2. The library -- SwordSearcher comes with over 70 library resources. Yes, many of them are "old," but this is Christian Bible Study -- these commentaries, books, dictionaries, etc, have stood the test of time and are still widely sold today in print and would cost thousands of dollars to obtain in a printed library. Plus, SwordSearcher gives you tons of searching and indexing functions that are simply impossible with a printed library.

At any rate, I encourage people to give it a try and see the list of included resources on the web page. Thanks!

Joan Korte SwordSearcher's product page in its FAQ section, it is clear that the user, to get all the resources, must purchase the cd-rom deluxe version. So, there is no way to download the program and get all the resources. Are you offering the cd rom version?
Thanks for your help.

Brandon Staggs Yes, this offer is for the CD-ROM.

Link Olsen Is SwordSearcher available for church website have been using an offsite link but would prefer to stay on http://www.colyellbc.org as an extension to joomla or set in a frame. If cost prohibitive may set up as part of hosting service available to registered users only. Thank you for your assistance.

Brandon Staggs SwordSearcher is a Windows application, not a web service. It's designed to be robust and fast as a desktop application and there is no way to "plug it in" to a web site.

Joan Korte Brandon,
Thanks for the clarification. I think this software package is a great deal and contains some resources that I haven't found to be part of any other Bible software package, e.g. Mackintosh, Holland, Stauffer, and Osborn. Maybe they are "public domain" but still much more useful as resources contained within a Bible software program.
