What are people saying about Tabs Studio

S B I've just downloaded and started using Tabs Studio (in VS 2010).

It seems to be a *very* worthwhile addition to Visual Studio.

I particularly like the nice way it can combine a file.xaml and file.xaml.cs in the same tab. This makes finding things & navigating easier and saves tab real estate.

This add in seems very stable, and *very* well thought-out. Further, the developer has re-thought what tabs are about and even allows you to arrange them differently or put them into a separate dockable window.

Tabs Studio is *very* easily customizable in many ways. I've already downloaded an available alternate style and further tweaked the color gradient used for the "selected" tab.

It takes just a few minutes to install it and tweak it so that you've again back to your very comfortable IDE.

The tab options are easily available from right-clicking on a tab and selecting "Tabs Studio" from the context menu.

Here are some other (short but very positive) reviews:

LU Hey there. This is a wonderful program and makes things quite simple, but I see the "Buy Now" URL is down. I think it may be a Plimus problem.

I hope your customers will be patient for it to come back up because it is worth waiting for.

Sergey Vlasov @Lifetime Upgrades, Thank you for letting me know about the problem. "Buy Now" opens fine from my machine right now.

Ulrich I registered Visual Studio Booster several years ago, when I used Visual Studio 6 frequently. VSB had a very nice feature, that I don't see in your product. While the document tabs were displayed on the top of the editor, there also was a bar with vertical tabs, were you could select the type of documents to show at the top, like *.c, *h, *.res, etc. With these two tab bars working together, it became very easy to find a certain open document, and it reduced the number of clicks and displayed tabs. Can something like this be done with your product, or perhaps have you any plans to offer this in the future?

Sergey Vlasov Ulrich,

Interesting. I haven't used Visual Studio Booster myself (for Visual Studio 6 I used WndTabs).

The functionality you are asking for is not currently available with Tabs Studio, but its implementation looks similar to the available Single Row add-in in Tabs Studio (Single Row hides least used tabs and offers a drop down menu to show hidden tabs). I think a similar add-in can be written using Tabs Studio extensibility API to show and hide tabs by type.

Chad Biggerstaff I just tested this out and it's very useful, I like how it groups aspx and aspx.cs on the same tab (was always annoying when those tabs would get seperated from one another and seemed crazy to me I had to manually organize them). The color coding of the tabs is a nice feature as well now my .config files really standout.
That alone is worth the purchase but more than sealing the deal it also works with SQL Server Management Studio. SQL Mgt Studio bothered me just as much if not more than VS at its lack of showing more than a few tabs at once.
Thank you for offering your product here, once in a while on BitsDuJour I discover great programs I wouldn't know about otherwise.

S B If you use Visual Studio and often access many files (several or more) within a project, Tabs Studio is a major organizational help--keep your concentration on your software, not on your tools!

Tabs Studio continues to evolve, most recently with new scripts to add.

Very nice, helpful, and recommended.
