How many times have you had to resort to sending short, terse email replies, just because you had so many email messages to get through? And just as you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, more email messages show up, demanding your attention and robbing you of your free time!

Text Lightning is the cure for an overburdened Outlook inbox, giving you the ability to clear your email while still delivering well-written, detailed replies. It's not magic, it's Text Lightning!

Here's how it works -- Text Lightning gives you instant access to text snippets that you have used to reply to similar email messages in the past. With a single click, any commonly used phrase can be instantly inserted into your email message. It even works with file attachments, embedded image, and rich text formats. All this, right from within Outlook!

Plus, Text Lightning highlights the most relevant items in your text snippets and hides any terms that do not match the current product or profile. All you need to do is feed Text Lightning a list of your products and their nicknames, and it does everything else for you. The app even provides single-click search of all of your previous responses to a specific Outlook contact.

Sending personalized responses once again becomes possible with Text Lightning! When you reply to an email, Text Lightning will automatically begin composing your new message with your preferred salutation ("Hi", "Hello", "Howdy"...) and your recipient's name. This level of customization can even be extended to any information in your email through the use of Fields. Imagine automatically attaching files or including additional text depending on whether your contact is a prospect or a long-time client.

There's no better way to gain control over your Outlook email communications than with Text Lightning!

SB . Ok downloaded the trial, obsoletely fantastic program.. One of those "Why wasn't it part of Outlook as default" moments. It integrated seamlessly with my Outlook 2007, setup was intuitive and it has no performance hit i can notice.

Mark me down as your first buyer when this deal comes on sale.

I had 13 pending support emails, and i did blitz through them with this faster than ever. Previously i was copy/pasting snippets from a "PIM" software notes section.

Only thing i have not worked out, is how to do is associate an email title with my snippet. For example a customer just paid with PayPal, i clicked their email addy which opened a "new" email. Text Lightning inserted my "Thanks for purchasing" email body, but the title is blank.

I'm sure theres a way, i can associate attachments etc but can't find titles. It seems more geared for replies, but i still need to RTFM.

Regardless, buying this one.

Nigel Cross Hi

Thanks for the feedback.

We plan to add an option for modifying the email subject in a coming update.

SB . Awesome Nigel, well after playing around with Text Lightening and answering a few dozens emails with it, and seeing your quick reply here i decided to heck with the Bits du Jour discount and just bought it full price.

I believe in supporting other small development firms when they offer invaluable tools, and this is a godsend. With ~200 emails a day about my product, repetitive emails are draining the life out of me and slowing down releasing new versions of my app.

Well i found a way to populate an empty subject no idea if this is by design, if i drag and drop my snippet in the subject field it gets populated with the first sentence. So i just made the first sentence of the email body/snippet "Thanks for purchasing". So i just double click to add the body, drag drop for the title and send.

But yes being able to associate a default email subject with a snippet would be icing on the cake. Also associate an outgoing email address with a snippet for new email would be cool too, so "Thanks for purchasing" gets sent from sales(at)mydomain and so on.

Either way, super happy worth every penny.

Steve Newport Thanks for offering this great application. Besides the setting the subject there is another feature request I would like to have. I don't know if this can be done but I would like to define/save within the snippet where I want to have the cursor positioned after inserting the snippet (instead at the end).

I would like to define some templates like:
---------------------
Dear....

-cursor positioned here

Thanks..
-----------------

so that I can start typing instead of first position the cursor.

Thanks!

Nigel Cross Yes, that would be a good addition. We'll look into that for the next update.

Bob S Agree w/ other reviewers - this will be a real time-saver and just bought. I especially like the fact that both text and images can be inserted. I've been using another program that only allows for insertion of text.

I also checked out your e-mail programs - those look great as well. Any chance one or more of those will be offered on bits du jour soon?

Keep up the good work!

Michael R Is writing a reply, is it possible, to insert some text of the original e-mail, which occurs at a certain position?

E.g. when getting a your-article-has-been-bought from eBay, this email has a fixed structure, e.g. somewhere in the text there occurs 'Buyer: ' followed my the nickname of the buyer, e.g. 'Buyer: BestBuyer'.

So, if I could let TextLightning automatically insert this buyer's name in my reply this would be great. So the replying could start with 'Hello BestBuyer'.

So perhaps the best way to implement this, would be with allowing user-defined macros with some commands. For the example above this could be something like 'NickName=Jump behind text 'Buyer:', skip spaces, result=next word".

Is something like that possible?

Nigel Cross Thanks for your order, Bob. No plans to discount any of our other products at this time, I'm afraid.

Nigel Cross Hi Michael

Yes, this is possible using the "Message Web Form " Field. E.g. in your case you might use %Message_Web_Form_Field:Buyer%
