Bruce Fraser ABBYY Screenshot Reader does the same thing in Windows.
I've used it for years, and it's excellent.
I don't know why, but they almost always have a free version somewhere on the internet. A quick search turned up this one: https://sharewareonsale.c...eebie-sale.

y x I'm a bit confused which version is given away!?! Just the one for mac?
Because on the registration page - after successful registration - I can also download the win version. Is this one also OK for the registration process then?

Constantin Florea @y x, We had this product as being available for Mac since the very beginning (when we added it to our site) however it seems that at some point the product was made available for Windows as well. This promotion page is now updated to reflect this (that the product is available for both Mac and Windows).
