joel kens Is it Free Upgrades for Life?

bvssunnydale In my extensive experience, most software revenue comes from updates and provides motivation for the developers to support and update their products - and free upgrades for life is the kiss-of-death for any software that offers it. I'm a big believer in free software but won't buy any commercial software that has the free-upgrades-for-life.. they simply release a version or two and go out of business, or re-name the company/product. This looks like an inexpensive & useful product (I'm assuming it actually works..)

Alan @Wm,
Not everyone is out to try to make a fortune on selling their software. This product seems pretty inexpensive and does something that I've needed quite a few times during my many years of programming. It's really not going to have a lot of new features I wouldn't think, just needs to be updated if a new version of Excel  breaks it.
I have no problem in buying software with lifetime updates, as any company whether they charge for updates or not, can go out of business. Geez, at this price, an update might cost $3, so really only the banks or credit card processing companies would make the money based on their fees.
Just my 2 cents

Roger Thomasson Folks, please check the "policy" section above before asking about upgrades.  Most of our new promotions now include it, and over time our repeat promotions will be populated as well.

Greg Lovern Hi Folks, Buying The Formulator does *not* include free upgrades for life. However, you can get free upgrades for life by posting on your website some example formulas that you have clarified with The Formulator, including both "before" and "after" versions of the formulas, and detailed explanations of your formulas, and a link to The Formulator at http://precisioncalc.com/...ision.html http://precisioncalc.com/tf . As long as the examples stay up on your website, you get free upgrades. Of course, you do have to tell me about the website, and Google needs to have found it. By the way I do have plans for many new features for The Formulator in the years to come. As a parent of three small children, it's mostly a matter of finding any time to work on it. Thanks, Greg Lovern http://PrecisionCalc.com More Power in Excel

bvssunnydale Hi, not that I'm in any hurry, but I purchased a couple copies and
haven't received any e-mail confirmation or download instructions
(except from PayPal). Again, no hurry, but the process is usually
quicker so I'm hoping I hear from the manufacturer soon.. Thanks, ws

Greg Lovern Hi Wm Shore, I'm working on fulfilling the orders now; there are about 40 of them so far. I was out of the house with the family most of the day. Paypal should have sent you an email confirmation; if they have not, please check your paypal account to verify that the transaction was completed. Thanks, Greg Lovern http://PrecisionCalc.com More Power in Excel
