Azziz Mouloud can you explain if it is lifetime upgrades or something wrong in the fine print?
-After you purchase Heimdal PRO it may be used for 12 months and will not function after that unless you renew your subscription.
-Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product.

Constantin Florea @Azziz Mouloud, I am sorry about the confusion. The correct phrase is:
Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for current subscriptions.

Andreas Hoffmann Thanks Constantin for this clarification.
But I would like to know how much this Heimdal-Subscription will cost in the 2nd year? Still $13,20?
Thanks in advance + greetings - Andreas

Heimdal Security Hi! The retail prices for Heimdal PRO are: $44 for the 1-PC license and $70 for the Family Edition license (works on up to 4 computers).

However, you can keep an eye out for future promotions on bitsdujour.com. Plus, we often offer discounts to our current customers if they want to renew their licenses.

Chris The Fine Print says 'Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for current subscriptions. For versions after that, upgrades will require additional payment, which will be discounted.'

If it is discounted, then why not tell us by how much?

Thanks.....

Heimdal Security Hi Chris. Sorry about that, we'll get that phrase out. Unfortunately, we can't add custom text in the Fine Print tab, that's sort of predefined.

After the subscription ends, the software rolls back to the Free version, which is basically the patching engine. Upgrades will be free after your subscription ends, but these upgrades will only apply to the free version. Hope that clears it.

_*_ I am more confused then before honestly.

1. Is there a discount to renew a subscription or not?
2. If there is a discount, what is the discount amount, or what is the discounted price?

Thank you

Heimdal Security Hi. You can use the new license after your current one ends. The license period starts when you first activate it, not when you buy it. Email us anytime at supportheimdalsecurity.com for any questions.

Gary Smith Even when they get the price corrected on Heimdal, there is another obstacle to making a purchase.

The Get This Deal link does not go directly to the Heimdal Sale page, but instead goes to a URL that is rejected by some browsers:
The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.shareasale.com.

The sale is being run through a tracking site, which is blocked by many AntiTracking browser addons, and browsers that have built in tracking blocks.

If they had made the link go directly to the Heimdal sale page (as is generally the case when BitsduJour does not handle the initial sales data), they would get more sales completed.

What trust can I have in a product if the software developer shows me during the purchase that they are willing to sacrifice their user's security and privacy?

If the browser does not block access, and you finally end up at the Heimdal site, the initial page does show the discounted price, but when you click on the offer link, you get to a page that does not discount the software.

With such a short time left, I doubt this problem can get resolved before the end of the offer.

Gonzo There's still a little less than 4 hours for the promotion to be over; however when trying to purchase I get a message saying voucher expired.
Also, I had to click through 3 links, each of which asked me which license I wanted (despite me selecting it each time, it was not remembered). You (vendor) may want to look into this, as it's annoying.
ie. I wanted 4PCs/2yr, I chose so in BDJ, then in first Heimdal page it asked me again (as if BDJ never sent that info over, then on next Heimdal page it asked me yet again).

Chris All I can say is beware of this company. I purchased this last year and installed it and didn't like it so I uninstalled it. When my year was up they kept emailing me renewal messages but I didn't want to renew. Later I received an email telling me it had been renewed for $44.00. I think they need to give me 10 years of service. They said they would email me when I was refunded the money, but nothing.

Heimdal Security Hi Edward. Just tried it myself now, and it works. Maybe you need to wait a couple of seconds after you click on the buy button in the shop. You're taken to the payment processor's website after that, and their service probably load slower on your end.

Thank you.

Heimdal Security Hi there!

Heimdal PRO complements antivirus solutions, so yes - you can use it alongside Norton. It doesn't rely on analyzing malware's code or its behavior.

Instead, Heimdal PRO focuses on:

1. closing vulnerabilities and mitigating exploits by keeping vulnerable 3rd party programs (Flash, Java, browsers, etc.) always up-to-date (automatically & silently). According to US-CERT, that stops more than 85% of attacks targeted towards vulnerable software.

2. blocking incoming attacks, ransomware, banking trojans, phishing attempts, drive-by attacks, etc. - by scanning all your HTTP, HTTPS & most important - DNS traffic - opposed to other security products, which only look at what you're typing in your browser's address bar.

3. blocking malware's communication to cybercriminal-controlled servers, in order to prevent botnet inclusions & communication, data leakage, ransomware dial back, etc.. This is actually the reactive part of Heimdal PRO, protecting from private data exfiltration, encryption key download, etc., even if the malware succeeded in infecting the computer.

Here's a video of how Heimdal PRO works: https://www.youtube.com/w...fEhVaBRyt8

Robert User @Heimdal Security:

In looking through the Fine Print, there is nothing to indicate that a purchase of this software will cause an automatic renewal fee at the full price a year from now. In the Earlier Comments, the last question is about activating a license in 2020. Heimdal Security response is "Yes, you can. The license period starts when you first activate the key."

I purchased a 4 computer license of this software nearly a year ago (2017-01-20), but I have not installed or activated any of the licenses, but now, less than year later, just over a week ago(2018-01-07), I was charged $70 as a renewal fee. This clearly goes against what users are expecting.

I contacted Heimdal Security to request the money be refunded. The response was that my request was sent to billing, and that a response will be made when the refund has been made, but there has not been any response since, and the money has not been refunded.

Can Heimdal Security please clarify to potential purchasers of this offer what you intend to do in the future?

Jim Buchanan I have a brief comment to make regarding this software. It's great. I also have another comment to make and that is I no longer have it. Of course, you would like a short explanation as to why not.
I quote "Save time and enhance your security with automated software updates". The following is a brief warning to those in the same position as I am. If all of your software are ones which can be updated then I can't imagine a better software than Heimdal PRO. However, as I mentioned to them on the date they first stated what I quoted above, any software which is a giveaway and some which are really reduced to get you to like the software and then buy it is at risk. once Heimdal PRO updates it then the software will probably not work and of course the deal you got will no longer be available. Think about it!
The worst part is I asked about that particular threat to any of the software I had. I was never contacted by them to say I was wrong or how I could prev3ent it.
Despite the fact that I loved the software I decided not to use it. What you do is up to you. it is a great program.

Dunking " I much preder to use PayPal; why isn't that option available? "

Going from the other comments, I would suggest that it's because either PayPal won't let them set up a recurring charge (for auto-renew) without the user giving it the OK, or PayPal is too easy for the user to trigger a refund when the auto-renew kicks in.

Constantin Florea @Brian H, I am sorry about the confusion. I also asked the vendor for his feedback on this one however I checked again all three licenses and I believe they are subscription based licenses because in the shopping cart I am asked to "Select license length" and the options are 1, 2 and 3 years.
