Joan Korte I visited your website to get more info. i.e. screenshots, user guide or manual, quick start guide. They don't exist yet...I'd really like to compare this program with others. In your "free" version, you only allow 5 notes according to your website.

Tonis Kask The manual is not yet ready as the program is so fresh (it just came out of beta). The program is very easy to use so we have decided to let people enjoy the features we have already built. But we are working hard on the manual and tutorials and they should be published soon. Our website contains some additional info you are probably seeking. As stated there in the comparison table you can indeed keep up to 5 notes in the free edition. Joan Korte How many total notes can the program contain? How many characters or meg of info on each note? Can pictures or images be inserted in notes? Can notes be categorized any other way but tags as you mention? Can they be laid out differently on the desktop-cascade, tile, arranged by date?

I wish you had a trial version that allowed for more than 5 notes.

Tonis Kask The programis tested with exactly 100 notes with each release. Although, there is no real limit to the note count and it should work with several hunderd notes as well.. But it is a sticky notes application after all and not an information organizer. There are others, much better programs out there to organize large volume on information.

Yes, you can copy images and paste them (they are embedd, not linked) so your database grows accordingly.

Notes can be categorized by using tags. Each note can be stored without tags, with a single tag or multiple tags.

Notes can be laid by hand and they remember the positions. There are no automatic placement features.

Indeed we haven't updated, but there is a reason for that - why update something when it has no known bugs, does the work it was designed for, looks still good, and is fully compatible with all supported Windows systems... I'm writing this reply on my Windows 10 machine, and I can honestly say we haven't received any incompatibility reports yet regarding Windows 10.

Tonis Kask Hi Ciprian,

Pictures can be inserted from the clipboard. For example, when you're on some website, right-click on the image and select "Copy image". Then go to your note and select Paste. And the picture is inserted.

DrTeeth Regarding the comment about not updating. IMHO software is never finished. Even without the presence of bugs there is ALWAYS something that can be improved.

Yes, this is definitely one way to think about it. But there's the other side to this too. Often overlooked. The fact is that by adding features, the software becomes more complicated for newcomers. Sometimes even just one more menu item or option here or there will decrease the conversion significantly. But true, so many software companies don't care (and even don't measure the conversion) and quite often those companies end up fading. Not always is this the cause, though, but in many cases it is. The fact is that one app cannot contain every dream feature of every person. Quite often they are conflicting dreams, too. But that is not a bad thing either, as it allows new companies and apps to emerge and there's always more programs to choose from, to get the one that's perfect.

CFGuy Very nice price point with this software, and these words "Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product" are pure gold to a software consumer (at least to me!), so it's an easy decision for me. Plus the "Pro" edition, to bat! Very nice. :-) -Cfguy.

The reason I ask is the user is required to input all personal information which defeats one of the purposes of using PayPal.

I rather not input all my personal information just to be taken to the PayPal site anyway.

Kelly Hamblin I see that the colors of the notes can be changed, but it isn't clear if the colors are limited to those pre-defined or if the user can customize the colors to his/her specifications. Can you clear this up for me?

Tonis Kask Hi Kelly, You can quick select between 12 colors on the main panel and on the note. Those 12 colors are customizable, however you can select those 12 out of 24 total colors.

Hi DH007, it's not in the active development as in our understanding, it has all the features we have imagined it should have and has no known bugs. Should the program stop working because of some unheard of Windows edition, we'll definitely fix it. And of course we'll support all the users, as long as they find the program useful.

Well, every program is different. You either like one or you don't. To be honest I do not know their features thus I cannot compare. Main features are all the same for all sticky note program anyway. Small touches, the look and user interface is what gives the identity to the program. We could also ask why should one ever pay for Excel and Outlook, when Gmail and Google Spreadsheet is free... Btw, if you're not a heavy user and need to keep up to 5 notes at the same time then our program is free too ;)

Not really. The main features in some programs include.

Stick to a Windows window (pop-up) which can be a website
Groups and/or Tags to show/hide multiple Stickies at once
Control Panel for all the notes.with folder groups

There are others. Which of these does TK8 have?

Tonis Kask Dear Steven, As I said, I do not know the other programs that well. This is not how we have created the software, nor should it be the way for other software developers. Again, we have never wanted to implement every feature others have done. By doing that, the program would become bloated, hard to navigate and inconvenient. If you know those other programs well (well enough to compare) and found the features in other programs better for your exact needs then that's good for you - the world is free and you can choose whichever products and services you like. Take the one you like. There's no need nor reason to waste time to those you don't like.

Is it a joke? You want us to believe that you try to sell your program and you have no idea what other companies offer?
Anyway, consider texture background feature, so far I see no point to chose/pay for your program.

Kelly Hamblin What would make this sticky note app more to my taste — in case you ever want to develop it further — would be the ability to make the notes any color I choose. I go to a lot of trouble to customize my beautiful (IMO) medieval-themed desktop. I want the few sticky notes I use to blend in. Bright or pastel colors do not work for me. Nit picky perhaps, but everyone's taste is different.

Tonis Kask Hi Kelly, In the options, you can activate dark themed notes to choose from when creating notes ;)

Jonathan, with reminders, the note will be hidden until the time you set arrives. And indeed, it will be shown to you automatically. If you want, you can also set the reminder to be sent to the e-mail address.
