Please note folks: Trog Bar manages your Outlook tasks, so it needs Outlook 2003/2007/2010 (Outlook 32-bit only) to run!

You may think that you have a good handle on your schedule and to-do list, but in this day and age, you need to have robot-like thought processes to keep everything organized. And chances are, you do not! But the next best thing to having a cyborg brain is having a computer do all of this organizing, scheduling, and figuring for you - which describes today's discount software promotion, Trog Bar, perfectly!

Trog Bar is a Windows sidebar that automatically manages your schedule, tasks, and email for you. With Trog Bar, you have a really helpful assistant that will recommend and prioritize things for you to do, while managing email, capturing notes, and organizing agendas. And as your schedule changes, Trog Bar adapts quickly, making new recommendations that match your changed circumstances. Have you ever done something but forgotten to follow up? Trog Bar keeps follow-up items just two clicks away, so you're on the ball. Need to schedule an appointment? Just drag and drop tasks right into the pop-out calendar and BOOM, you have a linked appointment.

Trog Bar works hand in hand with Outlook, so you can continue to work in Outlook and enjoy the benefits of Trog Bar without manually importing, exporting, or syncing information. And as you use it, you'll start to learn principles of workflow management, get better organized, and wonder how you ever got along without Trog Bar at your side!

More discounts! Folks, today's discount code can also be applied to any TRO Online Training purchase! Happy hunting!

Priacta That's right! Trog manages your Outlook tasks automatically for you, so it needs Outlook 2003/2007/2010 (Outlook 32-bit only) on Windows XP/Vista/Win7/Win8 (either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows). We're asking Bits du Jour to clarify that in the description.

NOTE: The promotion code also gets you that discount ($29.95 off) TRO Online Productivity Training for any of the other tools we support. See: http://priacta.com/Traini....php#Tools

Jaap Aap Is this still being actively developed (I noticed that this is version 2010.03.04)?

Priacta A new release is planned (to support Outlook 2013). That upgrade will be free. The current release has proven very stable.

Bruno Verschraegen I installed the trial this morning looking forward to test what looks like a very interesting utility. But i have uninstalled it (twice) because right after installing it virtually all internet pages crash. Some simply crash with the notification "Internet Explorer has stopped working. Windows is...". For other pages I get "Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer. A malfunctioning or malicious add-on has caused Internet Explorer to close this webpage." This is something which also in the past happened sporadically, but after installing Trog Bar became consistent. Uninstalling greatly alleviated the problem. I tried to solve by cleaning up temporary internet files and re-installing Trog Bar but again all pages crashed, so I uninstalled again. I am running Outlook 2010 32-bit on Windows Ultimate 64-bit.

Will try to look for latest drivers for my Dell (which I didn't do since quite a while; all other soft up-to-date) and will then reinstall to see if that solves it and report back.

Meanwhile, a question to the developer… Your site refers to a beta version with keyboard shortcuts etc, but reading the comments from users it seems this beta dates back to 2008 and still is in beta? Is this correct and if so, why is it not being fully released after such a long time?

Priacta Q: IE pages crashing.

A: You said "This is something which also in the past happened sporadically [on your system]." This isn't a report we've heard before from Trog users, so something is already unstable on your system. Do check for driver updates, and *especially* IE updates since IE is notoriously unstable. Trog Bar uses a few standard, shared Windows system hooks to allow the bar to pop out, optionally pin to side of screen and reduce viewing area for other apps, etc. Sounds like some other app or driver is already causing trouble with those hooks and since Trog relies on those, the issue becomes obvious.

Q: "Beta version": Incorrect (but a very good question).

A: Trog Bar does not have a beta version. Instead of beta and release versions, every release of Trog Bar has "beta mode" and and "preview mode" options. IF you turn those on in the Options ([+] at upper right corner), you are given access to beta or pre-beta features, respectively. This allow continuous, optional testing and feedback from live users without uninstall/re-install.

This release:

"Beta features" mode is VERY stable and the best choice for 95% of users. Turn beta mode on and get ultra-fast cached tasks indexing and a host of other smaller upgrades. Only turn it off if you have trouble with beta mode (rare), or if your organization has IT guidelines that prohibit external on-disk caching of task data (e.g., legal, defense industries). Since this is essential for some users, both beta and non-beta modes are useful options at the moment.

"Preview features" includes a Natural Project Management tab for managing next steps intuitively in an unlimited hierarchy. This is only a good option if you do not sync tasks to a mobile device, since mobile apps cannot yet see the additional Outlook Task data about the sub-tasks.

Alison Aldridge Will this work on Windows 8?

Priacta It should, but it Win8 hasn't been tested yet with Trog Bar. Download and run the free trial to be sure.

Many people and especially enterprises are hesitant to upgrade to Win 8, but mobile-and-cloud-integrated-computing is the future, so we'll have to see how well Win 8 is accepted.

We recommend to all our productivity clients: wait to upgrade if you can. Never get the first release. Pioneers get all the arrows. :)

Bruno Verschraegen Hi Kevin. I finally solved the issue but did not manage to do that before the discount expired... What a pity; we wanted to purchase 3 copies for our small event management team.

All my software is constantly kept up-to-date (incl Windows, Office, IE, but also all other programmes/utilities). The only thing I hadn't done was update some audio, video and other drivers from the Dell website. Finally doing that took several hours last night but did not solve anything.

Not willing to give up, this morning (we are in Europe) I looked at all the IE add-ins and enabled/disabled several of them until I found the "offender": Linkman, Outertech's bookmark organiser that provides uniform access to favourites across IE, Google Chrome, Firefox and multiple computers. I had installed this last year but never got into really using it (too much of a learning curve and some shortcomings for what we wanted to do). Since I disabled it this morning, Trog Bar has been active without IE crashing on me when I close a tab!

Before purchasing for the three of us, now unfortunately at the full price, I will continue to test out Trog Bar over a longer period. It surely looks like an ideal complement to some other Outlook add-ins that help us manage our daily team work.

Myra Naval Hi. Unable to purchase or find code from bitsdojour. Does this work with office 365 outlook? Please advise.

Priacta Unfortunately, the BitsduJour special discount period has expired.

Trog Bar works on Outlook 2003/2007/2010 32-bit, on either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. Office 365 in a cloud service and does not support add-ins like Trog Bar.

HOWEVER, our TRO Online Training (http://priacta.com/Traini...online.php) gives excellent results with hundreds of different task management systems. It's not the tool that matters as much as the approach, and TRO is the best: http://priacta.com/stats.

Priacta @Bruno, thanks for reporting back! Disabling those other add-ins is the best way to narrow it down, sorry I didn't mention it before.

Contact us/me directly if you want a free consultation for your team workflow: +1 804-591-0511. Trog Bar is awesome, yet for teams there may be even better options, and we can advise you. We are time management consultants first and foremost.
