Do you ever find yourself shaking your head skeptically whenever you hear about something that's simple, yet powerful? Are you of the mind that in order for something to be truly useful on many levels, that it has to be exceedingly complicated, with a steep learning curve? Or that for an application to be easy to use, it has to be somehow dumbed down, stripped of any advanced functionality?

Swift To-Do List is powerful because it can take all of your tasks -- your action items, goals, meetings, phone calls, appointments, ideas, anything and everything -- and organize them in a visually pleasing, categorized hierarchy of folders. For each task, you can add explanatory notes and even attach related files, links, email addresses, and folders. Imagine attaching a Powerpoint presentation to the appointment reminder regarding the Big Client Meeting!

The feature list to the right is only the tip of the iceberg. Check out the feature list on the Swift To-Do website for more information!

Despite the application's astounding ability to bring order to your life, Swift To-Do List is exceedingly simple and easy to use, right from the moment you install the program. There are no complicated macros, keystrokes, or procedures to muddle through -- you can simply drag and drop tasks to change their order, and create new tasks and reminders with just a few clicks. Filter the task view to focus on one specific area, such as priority or due date, or expand the entire view to see the big picture. Swift To-Do List is so intuitive, you'll have full command of the application in mere minutes. It really is that simple!

Swift To-Do List 7 comes in 3 editions: Standard, Professional, and Ultimate. Compare editions on the Dextronet website to determine which one is right for you!

For you road warriors, Swift To-Do List can print out any To Do list of tasks, including any associated notes that you've added. You can even export your task list to HTML or as an Excel spreadsheet!

Check out some of the features exclusive to Swift To-Do List Ultimate!

  • 100 extra tree icons
  • Two-line display for long task names
  • Spellchecker for notes and memos
  • Multi-level numbered lists (outlines) in notes and memos
  • Other premium, Ultimate-only features comig in the future

Swift To-Do List is constantly being improved upon! Just this year it's already had over 50 updates, not to mention hundreds of improvements, fixes, and new features:

  • As of 7.60, a new calendar panel has been added. It features a new, clickable info panel (so you can instantly see how many tasks are due today, tomorrow, overdue, etc, can can easily view them), a new global hotkey for creating tasks from selected text in any application, HTML email support when emailing tasks, and other improvements.
  • As of v7.32 you can create tasks from emails by simple dragging and dropping!
  • As of v7.33 you can preview task recurrence and have tasks that recur X days after you complete them.
  • As of 7.46, the notes editor is much improved. You can now import/export notes to DOC, DOCX, HTML, RTF, TXT, ODT, MHT and even export them to PDF. Learn more about the new notes editor here.

    H. H. Hallo,
it´s fine to see, that the time-tracking feature now is implemented that had been asked for last bdj offer) - thts increases the usuability. of your software
    Nevertheless another question:
may there be a possibility to use own - user defined icons in the future?
I´m not really happy with the implemented icons, they don´t fit my needs. E.G. for some occasions I would prefer just having plane -folder icons in various colurs (like when using rainbow folders for windows explorer - this can help to see different tasks at a glance.
i´ve icons I like to combine e.g. with mind manager,.. and I´m used to them It would be great, if "normal" icon files like ico, gif, png could be implemented in swift dodo list in the near future
thank you for considering in advance and giving a short feedback

    Dextronet Hi H.H.,

The Ultimate edition has 100 extra tree icons (244 in total). We will very likely add colored icons into one of the upcoming updates as well, that's a great idea!

Right now, there are also "flags" icons which come in different colors (green, blue, red, white).

And yes, importing your entirely custom icons is currently not possible, but it might be possible in the future.

RCG I just trialled this program - the professional version. I actually really liked it as it is pretty simple. However, with all honesty, I think the suggested retail price of $90 is rather optimistic and overpriced.

This brings me to my point. Whilst I believe that $36 is an excellent price, I am somewhat concerned about getting to like using a program I simply cannot afford to upgrade. On the basis of the RRP of $90, I am presuming that it will cost approximately $55 to upgrade to version 8. Given that version 7 has been out for about 2 years, I'm presuming that version 8 must only be around the corner (as you suggested in one of your previous 'older' comments that you work on a 12-24 month cycle? Are you able to confim to me:

    1. When version 8 will be released.
    2. Do you plan to offer a free upgrade to version 8 for BDJ customers taking advantage of this offer.

    Many thanks

    Dextronet Hi RCG -

    1. Version 8 will be released in September.
    2. Yes, this upgrade will be free for BDJ customers purchasing from BDJ today, because we provide even the major upgrades for free if the purchase was 90 days before the next upgrade was released.

    ddalian Jim,
Will version 8 include subtasks and access to the task list via smartphone?
Are there any plans for a native Android app?

    Thank you.
    Aug 6 2012 at 6:07am Copy Link
Dextronet Duane: Yes, version 8 will have sub-tasks.

Access via smart-phone is available even now, but its not finished completely (it is in Beta).

Offline native apps are definitely planned.

Iam Private So, if I purchase ultimate v.7 now, I will get a free upgrade to ultimate v.8 in September?
    Aug 6 2012 at 6:27am Copy Link
K X I've not had to upgrade yet. Can you tell us what the upgrade prices will be?. I have licenses for the Ultimate 3 pack and the Professional 3 pack. I'm trying to figure out if I should wait until version 8 is released to upgrade, or would it be cheaper to buy a new license today.
    Aug 6 2012 at 6:37am Copy Link
    Dextronet Iam: Yes.

K X: The v8 upgrade will be most likely either the same price or slightly cheaper.

Stephen Kreyling Do you have a price to upgrade the 1 user 3 pack pro to the 1 user 3 pack ultimate? If I do this upgrade today, does that qualify me for the version 8 1 user 3 pack ultimate?

    Aug 6 2012 at 7:44am Copy Link
Dextronet Stephen: Upgrades between editions always cost just the price difference. In this case, it is $65. Upgrades to higher editions don't qualify for free upgrade to the next major version.

    B Josephs @Jiri
Thanks once again for the deal. I nabbed this last time it was offered here at BDJ (standard for $0) and then upgraded to professional. I am interested now in upgrading to a 3 pc pack. Can you please offer a special price for the 2 additional licenses I would like to add to my current Pro license? Thanks again.
@Nico many thanks to all of you at BDJ as well!
    Aug 6 2012 at 8:05am Copy Link
Dextronet B Joseph: If you want to upgrade your existing license, then right in Swift To-Do List, use menu Help - Buy Upgrades or Extra Licenses. You can upgrade to the 1-user-3-PC-Pack for the price difference.

And if you want a new license, then take advantage of the BDJ offer.

Harald Vogel Hello Jiri. I have the same question as Iam but I only have a 1 user Pro license. Can I wait with the upgrade or will it be better for me to buy an new license today? Thanks

Mustang "Jiri Novotny Stephen: Upgrades between editions always cost just the price difference. In this case, it is $65. Upgrades to higher editions don't qualify for free upgrade to the next major version."

I have a 1 user 3 pc Pro license that I would like to upgrade to Ultimate, but your website has this priced as $110. Really do not want to buy another license today @ $80 if I can upgrade in September for around $65. Can you please clarify?
    Aug 6 2012 at 5:06pm Copy Link
VLM Jiri - You obviously have an excellent product family, that's clear. And it's equally clear that your whole pricing scheme is driving everyone a bit crazy ... and in some cases away from your products. I realize that you probably cannot make a change within the time frame of this promotion. But perhaps you can leading up to the release of version 8.

This is just my opinion ...

    1. There are too many options. Simplify, make it EASY for people to buy your product. Honestly, I'd reduce the product line from 3 (Standard, Pro, Ultimate) to 2 (Standard, Pro, where Ultimate becomes Pro and the current "Pro" phases out). Simple. Clear. Altogether distinct features in the upgrade.

    2. When you release 8, give your installed base a one-time opportunity to upgrade from Standard to Pro/Ultimate, some kind of nice incentive, one time, time limited. I mean, is it not really in the best interest of your and your company to have as many customers as possible using the top-of-the-line?

    I suspect that it is.

    3. Ditch the 1PC/3PC model. It's just too different from what the rest of the industry uses, more or less, and with no benefit that I can see. Instead, offer a 2-PC license (desktop/laptop or the like) and a Family/Group license, up to 5 PCs within a family or a group (as in a company, at a church, whatever).

Just thoughts for you to consider.

I just upgraded via help like you suggested. Am I going to qualify for the free upgrade to version 8?

Stephen Kreyling I thnk only new purchases get the version 8 upgrade free
    Aug 6 2012 at 7:28pm Copy Link
B Josephs What is unclear to me from Jiri's earlier response is granted the upgrade to Ultimate isn't covered, but is the "upgrade" to 3 pc pack considered an upgrade or a new purchase?
    Aug 6 2012 at 7:38pm Copy Link
Dextronet 1) Upgrade to version 8 will be paid, unless you purchased a new license 90 days before we release it, then you will get a upgrade for that license for free. You can purchase a new license here at BDJ. Upgrades to higher editions or to 1-user-3-PC-Pack don't qualify for free upgrade to v8.

    2) If you want to upgrade to a higher edition, then right in the program, use menu Help - Buy Upgrades or Extra Licenses.

    3) If you want to upgrade to 1-user-3-PC-Pack, then right in the program, use menu Help - Buy Upgrades or Extra Licenses.

VLM: We are considering another simplification possibility in the future - offering an alternative subscription model which would always grant you our best product, online sync + collaboration, companion web-app access, companion mobile apps, training and courses, and more.
    Dextronet - Aug 6 2012 at 10:08pm Copy Link
    VLM Hi Jiri,

Thank you for your response. Sounds to me like you're going to simplify the license by cluttering up the product instead.

This is just my opinion, but you have a GREAT product ... right now. Just make it easy ... VERY easy ... for people to get it and use it, that's all. THEN if you want to mess around with all that "getting connected" stuff, well, it's your time and energy to spend as you wish.

But honestly, anyone who really comprehends personal privacy won't want any of it. Of course, 1/8th of humanity has a Facebook account, give or take, so I suppose not many people comprehend (or value) personal privacy these days.
