Brian H Hi- I am very interested in this program! Does this program make setting up and managing lots of “rules” for Outlook emails easier than Outlook itself does? I have many rules set up in Outlook, and I’m not inherently unhappy with the options Outlook gives me to create rules, but find Outlook very limited and rudimentary in the way it allows me to later find the rules and edit/change them. Would this program make multiple email rule management easier for someone like me?

Yuri Mylis Hi Brian, Outlook rules can become complicated if you create many of them and they do a particularly poor job filing sent items. Rules are also manual are require frequent updates to be useful.

Our software create its own internal rules dynamically by learning how the user files his emails and allows to automate filing. It has an intelligent filing system that improves with use. Sent mails can now be filed to the same folder as the received mails of a particular conversation and when this conversation is concluded the user can archive or delete that folder. This keeps the inbox cleaner and the PST file smaller.

DrTeeth Hi,

When you say 'conversations', does your program relies on just the subject or is it much smarter than that? I would not like all my emails with the same subject to be necessarily lumped together.

I would buy your software just to be able to have sent and received emails in the same folder alone.

Does your software produce 2 copies of one email if two rules apply? Outlook 2010 does this and it can be very difficult to find the conflicting rules.

Guy

Yuri Mylis Hi Guy,

Our software looks at much more than just the 'subject' of an email to determine the right folder.

It does not produce 2 copies, just files the original email to the right folder.

TuckAway also let's you set a different default folder for sent items. If for example you are using an Exchange mailbox and don't want you sent emails sitting on Exchange.

Yuri Mylis Hi Guy,

The promotion on bitsdujour.com is for the Pro version. There are no plans currently to promote the Home version here.

As to supported Outlook version, TuckAway will work on 2003, 2007 and 2010.

Yuri Mylis Guy,

I see your point regarding the quick start guide, it's a good idea that we will surely follow.

The balance between Outlook rules and the automation offered by TuckAway is going to be different depending on individual users. Some will choose to use a combination of rules and automation others will rely solely on TuckAway filing.
Best practice would be try it out for a while and find the sweet spot.

DrTeeth Don't get rid of the offer the home version on your site too quickly. May be better for me rather than the BdJ deal for pro here.

Michael K To the Developer:

Like Dr. Teeth, I have no need of the Pro version if the only way it differs from the the Home version is to provide support for Microsoft Exchange Server, which I don't use.

Would you therefore consider making this 65% BitsDuJour discount available today on both the Home and Pro versions please?

Thanks

Michael K

Preston Mitchell Hello Yuri,

I wholeheartedly agree with Dr Teeth and Michael. Please offer the Home Version today. Also, you need a better help system...better help information!

Your Outlook organizer sounds like a very clever tool...but I only want the home version...because I don't need support for MSFT Exchange Server.

PERHAPS you should direct everybody to the Celiosoft web site where folks can buy TuckAway for $9.95! That's where I will buy Tuck today!

Thank you,
Preston

DrTeeth I have bought this (home version) without giving it a proper trial as a) The developer is on the ball and helpful and b) no DRM and c) no DRM - the second reason is so important, I had to mention it twice.

Andrew Griffiths Downloaded and installed but does not show as possible ADD-IN in ADD-IN list. Do you have to reboot? I hope not. Also does it work with MS Office 64-bit?
