Tom Speziale UltimaCalc Professional is a breath of fresh air in the Windows calculator world! There are far too many useless calculators out there having been "borrowed" from first year programming courses complete with emulation of a pocket calculator. I could never understand why one would want a simulated pocket calculator on a computer.

UltimaCalc takes advantage of the computing power behind your keyboard with a compact and intuitive design while providing powerful functionality. It allows easy creation of user defined functions, provides for working with really big numbers (try to evaluate 1000! on your pocket calculator!), it handles units (called suffixes) and can do basic algebra and function plotting.

UltimaCalc not only has a solver for systems of linear equations it also solves systems of nonlinear equations. And for those who do statistical analysis, UC also does regression.

These are only some of the things UltimaCalc can do. I think the best thing I can say about it is that I actually use it every day unlike those dozens of Windows calculator programs I've tried that do little more than take up space.

My wishlist for future versions of UltimaCalc would include parametric plotting in two and three dimensions. As it stands, though, it's a superb program and Bits du Jour deserves applause for making UltimaCalc available!

Anand Shraddhan Tom, Thanks for the good comments. UltimaCalc does allow parametric plotting in two dimensions, by using the Plot Functions special tool. You can see the help page at: http://www.ultimacalc.com...ctions.htm which shows X-Y values being plotted as functions of the parameter t. Ray G Hi Anand,
I'm in New Zealand - GMT + 12:00 and currently we have 1 hour of daylight saving. The time from the 'now' function is correct though, not 12 hours out.
