USB drives have become so inexpensive and tiny, chances are every employee in your company has one. Multiply that by the number of computers with USB ports, and you're looking at a major risk factor for data theft! And it's not just people that you've just terminated, either - even more damage can be done by the hard working employee who flies under the radar, stealing criticial company information bit by bit, every day. Time to put an end to these shenanigans with today's discount software promotion, USB Block!

USB Block gives you the power to block unauthorized USB drives, preventing data theft and improving corporate security across the board. With USB Block, not only will you prevent data from being written to USB devices, you'll also have the ability to block the burning of files to CDs and DVDs. Got "official" business as network administrator? No problem - USB Block lets you create a whitelist of your own authorized devices, or you can just enter the appropriate password to authorize the use of any device you've got on you. Access attempts by unauthorized devices are logged and reported, in full detail, including the name of the device, time, and date.

Don't forget, even "innocent" looking hardware, such as digital cameras, presents a potential data leak for your business. Nearly every piece of consumer tech nowadays has a memory card that can be used to siphon data out of your company! Block them all using the tamper-proof, hack-proof magic of USB Block today!

Micha Does it work under Win10?
Last update is from Oct 2014. Are there no updates to expect in the future?

William W. Geertsema Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 (build 7601), fully updated, on Dell Inc. Precision Workstation T7500.

I purchased and installed USB Block, version 1.6.2.
I can still copy anything I want from my fixed disks to any thumbdrive, without USB Block interfering. I do have to work as Administrator, which I believe I did not (at least in all cases) need to do previously (if I remember correctly).
This lack of performance occurs whether or not USB Block is running (i.e. visible in Task Manager).
My questions:
1) How can this be explained?
2) Can it be corrected?
3) Should the program be running before it needs to do its blocking?
4) Should the program start with Windows startup? I can find nothing on this under "Settings".
5) A reboot was required after the install. Did USB Block make any changes to my MBR?
6) If changes are made to the MBR, and if subsequently the program is uninstalled (from within the program -- a nice safety measure!), will any changes to the MBR be completely removed?

Please reply. The program, if working correctly, surely is a good thing.

J S Dear Moderators/BdJ folk, I just went to make a purchase of USB Block and (I tried this a few times) the 8 character coupon code, does NOT appear to make any difference to the secure.bmtmicro.com purchase information.

I always buy in US$ and at the moment I'm using a VPN which has a location of Los Angeles, but that has never been a problem before.

NO matter what I have tried to do, 1. The total price near the top of the page reads "TOTAL: $49.95" in US Dollars and 2. the price at the bottom of the page still indicates the following "You will be charged a total sum of $49.95"

As the purchase is through BMT Micro, their offers usually expire right on the Bits du Jour expiry time (if it's anything like Winstep.net's products on BdJ for example Nexus Ultimate) so You probably won't be able to help me.

I note that the vendor hasn't replied to the questions asked by Michael or William

Anyways, I thought you'd like to know (about the coupon code matter).

As I'm writing to you about software purchases:

I would also like to ask you about another failed purchase some months back (January 2016 without looking up my screenshots and info) that I attempted to make literally with a second or two (?) to go before the offer expired. I initially used the BdJ contact system - which I understood was sent to the Vendor rather than to You (BitsDuJour), and the Vendor never contacted me about the matter. In the end I just gave up hope and bought the product through another BdJ offer in July 2016 but sadly the offered terms were not as good as before. I have been buying through BitsDuJour now since mid 2009 when I first discovered You guys and generally I never have any problems (or complaints), but I'm "miffed off" (I'm trying to be polite) that the initial attempt to purchase didn't happen - as well as not hearing back from the Vendor (which is possibly the most common complaint that most of us 'Commenters' complain about).

Constantin Florea @J S, I am sorry about the issue. In rare cases the vendors set an end date for the coupon code validity which is exactly the end date (day/month/year) for the promotion not considering the time zone. This means in those cases, the coupon code may end prematurely when the promotion is still running as I assume happened in this case.

Considering that the coupon code was made inactive before this promotion has ended, I have just contacted the vendor to see if he could enable the coupon code again for a few more days.
