What are people saying about Usmania Calculator

J S I have read the Bitsdujour Policy Section and looked on your website and online help section but cant see the answer I'm hoping for so I thought it was worth asking:

1. Can this be made to be Portable (to a USB memory device) as its 1 online activation and hardware footprint?

Again i have looked for this feature but cant see any mention of it:

2: Unit conversion such as Metric to Imperial weights measures etc?

Usman Raza 1. No, this cannot be done with this version but may be available in the next version.
2. No unit conversion feature is available right now

Bruno Verschraegen Hello to the Usmania developer.

Although we do not have to make complex scientific/mathematical calculations, I was at first very enthusiastic about this product and firmly planning to buy 3 copies for use on our laptops. It allows very flexible and legible input of numbers (you can add numbers in the middle of an already started calculation, add brackets, and even add spaces in-between numbers for added legibility). But then I discovered that some very simple calculations do not produce the result I expect. At the risk of looking stupid, I need to ask whether I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug.

With a normal calculator and with windows calculator, for instance 100-5-10-5 produces 80. Usmania instead comes up with 100... Breaking this up in steps, and checking each time the intermediate result, shows what happens. 100-5 produces 95; perfect. Yet, subtracting another 10 (so: writing -10 after the 100-5 string) brings the intermediate result up to 105, meaning Usmania has added 10 to 95 instead of having it subtracted (100-5-10 = 105)... Trying to subtract another 5 (adding -5 after the 100-5-10 string) correctly subtracts 5 from the intermediate result, bringing it back down to 100 - except of course that the intermediate result was wrong in the first place and therefore the end result too! For Usmania to produce the right result, I need to type 100-(5+10+5).

This may seem trivial (because no-one would use a calculator for such a simple calculation), but we often need to check printed invoices or offers with tens or even hundreds of numbers and Usmania would be a great tool to check whether the calculations on the received documents are correct.

I have rebooted the computer twice, hoping it was one of these inexplicable temporary hick-ups, but to no avail. If making the string longer, each 2nd subtraction produces the opposite result:
100-5=95
100-5-5=100
100-5-5-5=95
100-5-5-5-5=100
100-5-5-5-5-5=95
100-5-5-5-5-5-5=100
And so on…

I hope the developer of Usmania picks this up and can clarify before the deal becomes live. I still fear somehow I am possibly making a fool of myself and overlooking something obvious, but Usmania produces a different result than any other calculator I have tried this (two on my laptop, one on my mobile, and three hardware calculators in the office).

Sorry for the long post.

Usman Raza You are correct 100%! Its a bug! We are trying to remove the bug, and there will be a minor update expected in a month. You would not have to pay for this update. Actually the bug came due to clash between minus sign and negative number indication sign. Current workaround is to use brackets where necessary. More on version update: you would check Help Check For Updates from the software; or go to the website, All the registered numbers (buyers) would be notified via email. You would not lose any activation! If there are any other bugs, please let us know, we will be happy to make you satisfied. Thanks.

Bruno Verschraegen Hi Usman. OK, I'll take the plunge (ordering the 3 copies I wanted) and look forward to this being resolved asap and receiving your notification email.
