To answer your question: the paid version has lifetime upgrades while the free version has paid upgrades.

Quill Pen I'm getting a bit fed up with the "spam" notifications of every fricken comment on these threads. HOW DO I PERMANENTLY STOP THIS??? I don't visit this email every day or even every week. I shouldn't have to constantly monitor it and then follow the trail back to an UNSUBSCRIBE to stop a deluge just because I posted a comment! I just went to get a registration number for today's deal and find some 25 emails! IMHO, this is ridiculous.
Please LIKE if you agree, ignore me if you feel an urge to chide me for complaining about free stuffs cause I'm not complaining about free stuffs, I'm just irritated about the way communication is handled. I am a passionate supporter of OPT IN, not OPT OUT. Posting a comment should not be interpreted as opting IN to spamming. There used to be a button near the post but that's disappeared.
FWIW and I don't think mere coincidence, since I switched emails, I've suddenly gotten a major influx in spam spam as well. 64 spams caught in the filter. I'm thinking someone sold/gave my email to a spam harvester.

Constantin Florea @Quill Pen - In your profile there is a check box called "Email Me Updates". If you leave it unchecked then the next time you comment on a promotion page you will not automatically receive comment notification.

Quill Pen Hi, Constantin. I naturally checked my profile for an opt out method before whining but my profile was essentially blank - regardless whether I was on Firefox or my distant 2nd choice Opera the only things visible on the profile page were name, avatar image, "member since" and a logout button.

Hubby's programming days are long past but he skimmed View Source and said line items (the entire left menu) were not displaying on the browser page: wants, subscribe, suggestions, posts, edit, etc. Guess what? He maximized the browser window and POOF, they appeared! Hubby's threatening to bill me for "fixing" the problem. giggles

As I rarely maximize windows I wouldn't have thought of that although I recall something similar happening on one of your vendor's sites a few weeks back. It's related to page formatting and how browsers interpret code. He hinted maybe you could add something to your CSS or HTML code to force the LeftMenuBox to always display but acknowledged that getting all browsers to display uniformly has always been a pain. Wondering if maximizing the screen would fix the blank questionnaire glitch, too? Perhaps it was sporadic because my browser width sometimes exceeded half my wide monitor, sometimes not.

Same error I had at the theater yesterday trying to get this. went ahead and watched Guardians Of the Galaxy and forgot to report in about it! But back today to come and take care of this and get your app. But its not available any longer..

ricoh flex The Version given here is only Version 4.1.
Discovered that after installing the software.
It is NOT Version 4.4.

Unfortunately I uninstalled Version 4.3 only to discover that the so-called Ver4.4 given here is actually a very old Version 4.1.

Bob User Just installed Video to GIF version 5.1 from BDJ.
This looks nothing like the screenshots and nothing like their own help files.

Is this a stripped-down version or did they dumb-down the UI for 5.1?

For instance, I can't see a way to preview the frames I selected or fine-tune the selection. All I can see to do is Convert and look at the results. That's a lot of trial-and-error to get something that the program should have made easy.

This one's probably going into the Recycle Bin.

I got from bdj at the time of the previous offer, "video to gif" and "video to picture" softwares .
After some weeks of use, the activation of the software stopped to come back in trial mode !
These applications that were given for free, have time working limited !!!!
The contacted support didn't answer to me for this problem !!!!

Constantin Florea @Christian User, Please notice that some of our giveaways do have paid upgrades for the free version. This can be seen in The Fine Print tab in the promotion page:
"Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key."

So if you do refer to a promotion which had paid upgrades and if you upgraded your copy, then the upgrade invalidated your license key because the upgraded version didn't work with the new version (as stated in The Fine Print tab).

However, if you didn't upgrade and your installation simply turned to trial with no apparent reason, please contact us at notify@bitsdujour.com. We will contact the vendor and ask him to help further.

Germain Lavoie I too interested in the program but have doubts due to comments. If we can be assured that the program is stable and as shown, I would get it. (purchase)
Picked up over the years good bargains at BDJ but hesitating on this one.
If it's back for another day (additional day deal), developer may clarify the questions posed by the users and diminish fears users have purchasing.

Frank J Perrotta @Christian User I have been seeing this with another app recently also (MacX iPhone Video Converter) which I got from BDJ on Dec8th. Registered properly, used it that week and came back two weeks later but it is now marked UnRegistered.

At least in this case the developers have responded - asking for a receipt - I have given them what I have - hoping they will get this cleared up.

Looking back on many BDJ apps this seems to have happened often - NOT a fault of BDJ obviously - just makes me cautious of apps from BDJ going forward.

Bruce Brent In all fairness to this product, I installed and tested using a 1280x720 file. I rendered to different sized .gif files. Even down to 240x135 and all rendered .gif's came out crisp and clear.

I wish, on a future version the maker would include formats: .scr & .exe.

Constantin Florea @Keith Sheppard, I believe this means that you have the application already registered. I checked your Purchases page and noticed that you did participate in the last giveaway we had for this product back in 2015 so it is possible that you registered it at that time.

Eustace Phenackertiban II got the new version, received the registration email immediately, ran and registered the program. I like the change in interface from my previous version, and was gratified to see that it had no problem working with the .mov training videos I saved from some Lynda.com courses. I should note that it didn't seem to accept .mov when dragged and dropped, but had no issues opening them using the "Load" button. The conversion was quick and smooth, and when tested in a Web page, ran flawlessly. I would like the ability to add a "Play" arrow, like I've seen on ESPN and Bleacher Reports animated gifs, but that may be something they're doing with javascript or something. Recommended!

franp User This is a nice software I baught a few week ago. It accepts h265 videos without any trouble, contrary to other similar sofwtares, and produces good Gifs
However, it lacks any ability to save presets; that's a pitty.
Also, documentation is VERY little. No versions note ; very little documentation.
It also seems that it is EXACTLY the same as "Video to picture" except the name butg the developer website lacks any information about the two sofwtares différences if any.

I have been using it for years.
It does what it says, and does it well.
Unfortunately it lacks presets : one has to recreate a set of rules each time the sowtare is lauched. This problem has been signaled on this forum many times without any action nor even answer from the publisher.

You must install/register the software within 3 days, and cannot do so afterwards. Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key.

Diana User Three days is ridiculous. I just spent days creating a different user account for myself on my computer. Three days would mean that if I installed in under the old user account, I could not use it under the new user account on the SAME COMPUTER. We should be allowed to install within one year as is normal for software.

Nunya User Constantin, I deleted the BitsDuJour cookies and it worked. You should never ask anyone to delete all their cookies. That's a shotgun effect. There is a plethora of much-needed data in those cookies. They log me into sites, keep me logged in, keep track of my site preferences, etc., etc. Without them, I have to retype all that information manually...for hundreds of accounts. I know firsthand. I fell prey to that request once before...never again.

Mr Dave Download link does not work for me, maybe because I'm using Chrome. It's become less compatible with many sites in the past month or two, might be time to go back to Opera. Might also be Bitdefender, but it usually tells me when it blocks something.

Anyway, I downloaded the file from the company's website, I'm hoping the key from the email works with it (as someone said in another comment).

franp User This is an interesting and capable software I have been using for years. Unfortunately it has not been updated, despite some defaults, for the last 7 years or so ...
The main default is that there is no presets system nor at least parameters memory. Each time you launch the software, you have to set your parameters from scratch.
