Nuclear Coffee If YouTube video is not downloading please update application script ("Options" = "Update application script now"). If you have problems with playback AVI or other file, you're missing video codecs. It requires XVid codec to be installed. I have K-Lite Codec pack installed and I have never any problems with video codecs. It is pack of most popular video\audio codecs in one install. You can download it here: http://nuclear-coffee.com...EC248F.EXE

Chester c Milner, There are a lot of benefits. - 200+ websites support, not only YouTube - VideoGet is working on user's PC and web-based in crashing and\or slow in case of high-traffic. - More converting formats and customizable options - Batch download in case you want to download not only 1 video - Pause \ Resume download in case connection was lost or any. And a lot a lot more. You can check features here: http://nuclear-coffee.com...d=VideoGet

Stanley Boyett I just purchased VideoGet at the $11.99 pricing. Downloaded and installed on XP-Pro without incident. After initial testing, I am very pleased. I am a complete online-video geek, and Video-Get will probably become one of my most used utilities. I've been looking for an all-in-one solution for online-videos so that I can burn my favorite videos to CD or DVD. So far this progam is easier and much more functional than trying to use web sites like "KeepVid". Thanks, Iconico!

Michael Mortimer I have used VideoGet for about two years now. It was a Bits offering back then too, got it for about the same price.

THIS IS ONE OF MY MOST VALUABLE PIECES OF SOFTWARE. I recommend you buy it.

Basically, this has allowed me to download and save videos from all the major video websites. It has worked flawlessly.

One of the best features of it is the ability to tell the program to save the video in whatever format you designate such as WMV (Microsoft's format), AVI, MPEG4, 3GP (cell phone format), etc.)

You can also set the quality, the better the quality, the larger the file.

I love this program and frankly I don't know what I would do without it, I have got so used to using it.

WARNING: One quirk about it is that when you use the program and then close it, it stays an active task and the icon is in your quick launch area. For a few months after getting the program whenever I wanted to shut down the computer, it would not turn off. Turns out, it was VideoGet still being "on" as a task that was the problem. When I right clicked the VideoGet icon in the system tray (quick launch) and fully closed the program, my computer would then log off and shut down.

So make sure to fully close VideoGet (via the quick launch icon) when intending to shut down the computer.

Back to my review: One time I contacted VideoGet to ask a question. They got back to me quite soon. I like that with a company, they respond to my e-mails.

The program has always worked flawlessly and you don't need a help file to use it. It is a very intuitive program. I copy the URL of the video that is playing, paste it into the VideoGet URL box, then press for it to download and save the file to my computer, where I tell the program to save it (usually on my desktop so I can find it).

Before this program I used to use a sundry of those video download sites. I always had mixed results, sometimes the download timing out, crashing or whatever.

VideoGet has downloaded every file I have asked it to.

Buy this program folks, you won't regret it. There's about 20 programs on my computers that I consider essential (out of maybe 100 in use). This is in my top ten.

Sidenote: I have installed it on all three of my computers running (desktop, notebook and netbook). It has not asked for money for each of those installs. In other words, one license allows you to install it on all of your computers. I don't know if that's intentional, but I appreciate it. I don't know about you, but I am tired of paying $5,000 every couple years for software updates, etc.

Hope this helps in making your decision.

By the way, check out my videos on YouTube. I am going to start doing video reviews of software I have, for people in the industry I am in. VideoGet will be one of those programs I will be reviewing. YouTuber name: heartinsanfrancisco

Michael R. Sometimes the web-address (in the appropriate browser-field) seems not to change at all, even if the user moves through the site. (I don't know how this works, perhaps via cookies?) So copy/paste this address would not help to get the video of the current page. Can VideoGet handle these sites anyway?

John H This is a great program that I have been using for years and purchasing the upgrades.
Will purchase this to upgrade from my version 5.

Could the vendor explain technically how the software works because it seems that each video site has a way of hiding or encrypting the file in a hidden cache somewhere. It also seems like many sites constantly change their scheme.

Just very curious.
Thanks

Chester John H,

Every time you launch VideoGet it checks for updates. These are not updates of program itself, but internal instructions for VideoGet on how to download videos from particular websites.

Every time, some video website changes something - our users complain it's not working (via Report Broken Website button inside program) or via email and we fix it and make update - which will be automatically downloaded next time you launch VideoGet.

Most websites can be fixed within 5 minutes, but some webmasters can be very creative in hiding where exactly video is stored and it may take hours for us to fix it.

Hope this helps.

dylan c Please;

under any circumstances DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PROGRAM. Starting 2 versions ago, it may be able to capture about 1 out of every 50 youtube videos, etc.. After a number of emails back and forth with them, they can only say they are working on it. That was about 6 months ago. I have the latest version and it is USELESS!

Flo I agree with dylan c and would also recommend to stay away from this company. I purchased their ConvertVid here on BDJ a while ago. It did not work correctly and support was not helpful. The product was then shortly thereafter offered as freeware. Total waste of time and money.

Chester Dear Flo,

Sorry for this. We didn't had much customers of ConvertVid, so we decided to simply make it freeware. I do understand that it was impossible to not upset those who already paid money for it. If you want we can offer you any other (paid) program for free

Chester Dear Dylan C,

I assume you're talking about vevo videos from YouTube. Indeed, it will not work with music videos from Vevo. YouTube constantly changes something for Vevo channels, I assume they don't want these copyrighted materials to be downloaded. We fixed it few times but it is still being changed too frequently. You can find other tools which would work with Vevo, but I'm pretty sure not for a long time.

VideoGet is not just Vevo downloader. It supports 800 more websites and non-Vevo YouTube videos too.

In any case, sorry for caused inconvenience, but we have no control over 3rd party websites.

dylan c Dear Chester:

It will not work with almost ANY music video. I know you continue to say that you tube is constantly changing. How is it that there are a huge number of free programs that work just flawlessly to download music videos but you keep "trying" to fix it. Those of us who paid for this program did not do so so you can keep trying to fix it.

Unless you are prepared to get this message almost every time you try to download, you are best keeping your money in your pocket.

HTTP error code: 403
HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden

I would ask those interested to try their trial, after which there are any number of other programs that do work.

John H I have been using this for years and find that it is a great program. I happily upgrade when new versions are available.

I am not into Pop Culture which is sold to us and works hard to maintain its digital rights. So if you are into pop music videos, then this might not be for you.

I use it to download science and other instructional videos. Video get just works.

I know there are other programs and browser plugins but they had their own issues and wasted my time.

I value my time and find that a dollar per song on Amazon is a much better value than wasting time trying to download protected material.

It is a constant chore for a programer to constantly chase the code to allow downloads from even non copyrighted works on YouTube.

Thanks for a great product Chester!

Tony User Doesnt work with Youtube smoothly. If someone has their channel broken down into playlists you have to download each playlist as opposed to the whole channel. So if someone has 100 videos and they organize it into 10 playlists of 10 videos you have to download by playlist, instead of the whole 100 at once. I reported this to them on Sept 2015. Got the run around, promising a fix and was told that it is the way it is.

Bradley MacDonald Ok - I purchased the program and tried it on YouTube. It did not work. I have reported the error - but I was wondering if YouTube had changed their format (which they do from time to time).
However, I tried a few other video sites from the list on your site....
I tried JibJab - and it also failed.
I tried NHL videos and it failed
I was able to download from MetaTube though.

How do you handle these sorts of issues?
How quickly can you provide fixes for these sorts of issues? Take YouTube for example - they alter their formats all the time. Do we have to wait for patches to be able to deal with this? Or do you provide hotfixes? If so - usually how long after they are discovered?

Thank you.

John H I have been using Video Get for years. I know there are free downloaders but most have been inconsistent and wasted lots of time. So if you value your time this is a worthwhile investment.

It takes constant updating of software to keep up with YouTubes ever changing encryption so they are earning their money. Free downloaders have no incentive.
VideoGet cannot download the professionally DRM encrypted media but I rarely go there and use Audio Record Wizard and which I think I got from BDJ.

I gladly pay for upgrades every 3 or 4 years.

Right now the online updater is not working along with some other server problems. I would encourage BDJ and Nuclear Coffee to extend this offer until those problems are fixed.
