T Krafcik Looks like a good program, but I won't buy it if I can't move it to a new computer. Currently have a 3 year old PC. I'm just one person who wants to be able to use software that I bought, and not see it go invalid because I got a new machine. If the software can get a hardware footprint, it should be able to deactivate it, like Photoshop can. I understand measures to avoid piracy, but why put the burden on the buyer?

Rick I tried the demo... Videomizer 2 has some nice features and is offered at a considerable discount. However, I stopped short of purchasing the software secondary to the licensing policy. Specifically: 1) “Transfer of a license to another owned computer is not allowed,” and 2) “Online license activation is required with a hardware footprint, and 1 installation per footprint.” The one installation per hardware footprint is the sticking point with the second item. This is obviously not a concern with this particular software, rather my mindset towards what is practical and not practical in terms of investing in any software. Hopefully, a more user friendly licensing policy will prevail so I can reconsider purchasing this software. I personally patronize software vendors that offer on-the-fly activation/deactivation, an on-line licensing portal, or no licensing restrictions.

Ralph Bressler If you look at the vendor's website or click on the BUY button you will see that you are allowed to install the program on up to three computers. I have found the vendors to be responsive to technical questions. I think this policy is pretty generous and I am sure they would "reset" an installation if you upgrade to a new system.

And:

Ralph Bressler The problem is that the deal has ended and I do not want to pay full price for the new version. I have found several programs which already have great support for MOV. I am ready to purchase something. What should I do? How soon will yours be ready? Will you extend the same discount?
