Frank Kasper 1. U3 jumpdrive capable?

Anyone know if this can be installed on a U3 enabled jumpdrive, as a U3 application?

I use internet cafes and/or school computers, so I carry most of my stuff on U3 jumpdrives.

2. Arriving at the $19.99 price:

I was almost ready to ask about the price myself, when I noticed it finally dropped to the $19.99 (as soon as I moved from the shipping address page of the order form; to the credit card info page).

Julie Lancastere Hello, VisualRoute does not presently run on jump drives, it needs to be installed on a computer running Windows XP/2000/Vista.

This is not the current version of VisualRoute. This is version 2008 file = 12.0g build 3836

The License key you receive will NOT work with the 2009 version. You have to download from the receipt they provide for you and that is file = vr120g.exe

This ad does say what version you are purchasing but it is the old version 2008.

I assumed this for the current version on the web site, it is not.

Don Bone This is a con trick! You should be ashamed!

I downloaded the "Try before you buy" option and was very impressed with the software, so decided to purchase the offer licence.

When I tried to enter the licence code received it would not work, basically report it as invalid.

After reading the help notes (actually very good), I decided to re-download the app as it appeared that the version could be the problem. I did this using the link from the Visualware invoice.

You can imagine my surprise when I realised that this version was completely different to the trial version, specifically being 2008 (version 12) rather than 2009 (version 13). Obviously I wanted to see how much of a downgrade (= con trick) this 2008 version is, however, it will not run and gives an error (10021) which suggests that my Java installation is not up to date - I use Java for many apps and mine certainly is current. The version 13 runs perfectly?

Please comment on this con trick; both Iconico (Roger) and Visualware please. Perhaps Visualware can also comment about the problems running Version 12.

Just tried out the trial version.

Decided to check the story of of Alan Nixon from Ghana as posted from on "Real Users Say"

Is his story true or just an excuse to post a porn address in your forum.

Also the sleazy posted link should be a good forensic exercise in using visual route.

So Visual Route tells me:
The porn server is located in Atlanta Georgia.
The domain has been registered anonymously by proxy since at least Aug 2006. Could possibly have been anonymous since it was created on Nov 2001 but there is not enough information presented to to confirm that it was anonymous since then.

The route also travels through some Swedish owned International servers located in Atlanta Ga. US..

The porn site is up and running. Argh ... my eyes!

There is not enough information to confirm the validity of his post. I would need to confirm the date of his story and to know if Visual Route was available prior to Aug 2006.

Doug A The primary benefit of VisualRoute is, of course, the graphical representation of the discovered route. Besides letting you quickly see the route, such charts would also be beneficial for those who need to prepare Powerpoint presentations to show network traffic flows (using a screen capture).

Albert Wiersch This is a great program for $20... but I think the regular price is too high (especially on the higher end editions) and they come out with updates every year. I'll stick with my 2009 version for now. I assume this is the 2010 version but I'm not sure... but if you want a good graphical traceroute program, get this for $20!

Jon Koerner I don't understand what is the difference between the Personal and Advanced editions. Yes, I can see the Feature Comparison chart, and it shows that Advanced has 3 features which Personal doesn't have. But I don't know what the names of the 3 features really mean in terms of functionality in plain English. Can you please describe? I want to purchase today under BitsduJour sale but it is giving me choice between those two versions, I don't know whether the additional $ for Advanced would be "worth it" for me.

So I hope I can get an answer today!

Julie Lancastere The Advanced Edition allows you to perform automated tests at a set interval or a continuous basis, and keeps a history of the results. This provides a means to automatically test connections for extended periods and identify if/when any results fall outside an acceptable range. The Advanced Edition also tests DNS response, this can help identify connection problems caused by a faulty or unavailable domain name server.

Brad Isaac I used to use visualroute years ago and needed it bad last week, but couldn't remember the title of the software. Call it old age. But It always did a great Job of nailing down the problem routes.
