What are people saying about Vole Internet Expedition Ultimate Edition

Ralph Bressler I downloaded and installed the trial. The "documentation" is mostly in the form of videos with no voice. It is unclear what is going on in the videos and there is no printed docs. I tried to get the wages to show up as galleries but could not. I really wanted to like this browser but I don't see anything it can do that Firefox with add-ons cannot do.

Can anybody figure out how to display wages side-by-side on one screen?

Chris This is the fine print:

After you purchase Vole Internet Expedition Professional Edition it may be used for 12 months.

Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product.

So which is it? If upgrades are lifetime shouldn't we be able to use it for a lifetime? Why only 12 months? And if only 12 months of use, shouldn't updates be for only 12 months?

Thanks....

"

"

It could be a missformulation. But the lifetime of the product can be the 12 months you paid for and not the lifetime of the product it self.

Anyways, it should be stated in a more clear fashion now since we asked for it.

peter schleifer "I don't see anything it can do that Firefox with add-ons cannot do."
+1, or + 1/2 more precisely

My idea on this: In FF (but how about add-ins I'm unaware of?), we can SEE other webpages, here we can INTERACT with them even when there are within that compound of little ones (= without making them big before)?

As for the fine print, so we might use it for one year, and then we pay 60 $ annually? Very well... and now give me some valid reason why it would that important for anybody to interact with minimized webpages, all the more so since in FF and other brothers (even without any add-ins), it's perfectly possible to open (by right-click menu on the tab in question) some of those webpages within a new window which then could be placed, in mid-size or how ever you need it, besides the main one, e.g. one big window, and then 2 or 3 such lesser windows on its right, in one row.

A very expensive solution to a problem that does not exist? Or did we overlook some important aspect here?

Yves Ros Evernote costs $45;00/year and offers a "tag" feature, for example.

Vole Internet Expedition Professional Edition $60;00/year and has no "tag" feature implemented.

I would advise Sanwhole to lower their prices for personnal editions and to implement tags.

My two cents.

Software Babe I am not sure how SECURE this browser is AND I don't see any ADD-ONS for this browser that will make it secure. Firefox is VERY secure to me, especially when you add things like GHOSTERY, DO NOT TRACK ME, and other top-notch developed add-ons.

Are there any plans to make this browser secure like Firefox or at least, create add-ons to make it secure?

Thanks.

Constantin Florea @Subbiggi Boy - To register the application please notice the blue icon (with the small "i") at the top right of the application window. Please click it and in the menu which appears, click Renew. After that, a new window will show up in which you have to enter your first name, last name, email address and the registration code you've received in the receipt email. Please notice that in order to be able to enter this information you need to be connected to the Internet (to verify this, that you are connected, the text at the top left of the window has to be "Online"). After entering the information, please press the Renew button at the bottom of the window. This should register the application.

DroidLuvr I don't see an answer by the vendor to the questions above about the licensing? Which is accurate: All updates in future are free? or software is only good for 12 months?

"Install and activate today" is not a great indication to me, but the licensing is going to have to be more than a 12 month useage if I'm going to bother to install at all...
Dec 7 2013 at 2:27pm Copy Link

Constantin Florea @DroidLuvr - I am sorry for the confusion regarding the license policy. The license offered today is indeed for 12 months so the first phrase in "The Fine Print" tab is accurate:
After you purchase Vole Internet Expedition Professional Edition it may be used for 12 months.

Regarding the updates: I am pretty sure that the correct formulation is:
Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for current subscriptions.
however I have just asked the vendor for confirmation on this.

Jeffrey Taylor Everything seemed to go well with my experiment--until the very end. I downloaded and installed without a problem, got the email with the registration information, and used copy and paste to put it into the proper field in the Vole Internet Expedition Renew dialog. However, after clicking the "Renew" button, I waited--and waited--unsuccessfully for "receipt." When it never came, I closed the dialog, and then the application, and restarted it from the desktop icon.

After the installer did some "reconfiguring," I got a popup message saying that "The Renew Code is invalid on this computer." After closing that popup message box, I was presented with another: "The Renew Code is invalid on this computer. Remove it?" Since the code was supposedly "invalid," there seemed no reason not to say "yes," which I did.

I then again closed the dialog and app, and again restarted. When I tried again to input the Renew Code, the process completed, and this time I received this message: "Renew Operation Successful" However, within a few seconds, I again received the same popup previously described, indicating that the code was invalid.

This time, when presented with the question about whether or not I wanted to "remove" the code, I answered "No." I can now use the program, but I'm sure that the license problem will recur.

Please advise about how to become properly licensed.

3. The software will auto degrade to Free Edition if the user don't renew after 12 months.
4. The user can free upgrade even in Free Edition.
5. Any Free Edition can't upgrade to Profession Edition by free upgrading.

Greg Campbell I downloaded this special on Saturday. I received the email with the registration code but was not able to enter it. The same problem that a lot of these posts refer to. Sunday I ran into the same problem. I had just about given up on using this product until today I received an announcement of an update to the software. I let the update proceed. When the software came up the fields to renew were active (previously they were not). The Online/Offline icon showed Online (previously it reported Offline.) I entered my registration information which came back as invalid. I do not know if the server was so loaded down that it could not handle the load or what but I attempted to register within the 24 hours but was unable. What can be done at this point?

Eustace Phenackertiban Do you have a version grid anywhere so that we can see the differences between the pro and the free version? This is sounding an awful lot like the "one-year trials" that have been being offered all too frequently lately, and it's really downgrading BDJ's credibility and its value to regular users.
Mar 20 2014 at 1:26pm Copy Link
1
VLM Eustace Phenackertiban - An alternate point of view: I'd much prefer a 1-year trial to a 14- or 21- or 30-day trial. I mean, in a full year, I can actually accomplish something.

I realize that "one-year trial" is a different take on "free for one year", but in the end, perhaps it doesn't matter. What matters is that we get to use ... and gain first-hand experience with the support for ... a vast array of products. Honestly, if it weren't for BDJ, I wouldn't even know that 95% of these products exist. And I mean both from the products BDJ offers and from the alternative and companion products that other users suggest from time to time.

As I said, just another point of view. Feels more positive and upbeat to me.
Mar 20 2014 at 2:36pm Copy Link
1
Eustace Phenackertiban @VLM - That's fine, and that's *your* take on it, but mine is that I don't want to become accustomed to essential functionality that I am going to eventually lose. That is why I requested a version grid, so that I could determine if I might be willing to forgo the "pro" features that will go the way of the winds after one year.

If not, I will simply stick with Firefox and my setup using Tabkit, which allows me to have dozens of tabs open simultaneously, and Session Manager, which allows me to save named sessions of tabs, giving me basically the same organizational capability as this product, although without the interface view provided.

I don't mind when a product ceases to offer updates after a year (or even immediately, for that matter, like GAOTD), but to have it actually *lose* functionality gets my drawers in a bunch. Sorry, but that's just my take on it.

_*_ The bottom line is this is subscription based software. After you stop paying, it reverts to the free version with limited functionality. So, you never "own" the version you pay for*, unless you keep paying year after year, forever.

*yes I know this is free offer, but if you buy any of Vole's products it is only yours for 12 months, and only yours if you keep paying in perpetuity.
Mar 22 2014 at 3:59am Copy Link

Norman Wong Sanwhole provides 4-year subscription also. Basically, for most software, the time that you have to pay for the software upgrade less than 4 years.

Professional edition allows you to install on 2 PCs (Concurrent use one). So, you can activate your work laptop and your home desktop with one renew code and synchronize work and home scene data with ease.

Professional edition supports hardware migration. So, you can migrate your renew code to another computer just in case computer damage or hardware upgrade.

Eustace Phenackertiban @Jane Dean - "if you searched their website, you find this page: http://www.sanwhole.com/c...table.html"

Right, and what were you able to make out of that convoluted mess? There was no standard version grid comparison. The only thing that I could glean from it is that it appears that the free version only allows two Explorer Projects, while the Pro allows ten. Is that it? Was there any more information about the differences anywhere in any of those tables? Does that mean that you can create up ten EPs while you're in Pro mode? If so, what happens to them when you revert to free mode? Do you get to keep them? If not, what happens to the excess eight? Do they go away? Which eight? Do you get to choose, or is the choice arbitrary, at the whim of the software?

Do you see why I want answers to these questions? This kind of thing is exactly why I am opposed to the idea of reducing functionality when a subscription period ends. If you want to stop providing free updates after a year, fine. but don't take away from me functionality to which I have become accustomed.

JMJ Squared Norman Wong, Sanwhole - Greetings.

The Internet security environment is under constant threat and attack with new malware and bad actors being discovered every day. Where can I read detailed, thorough, technical information about Vole Internet Expedition and how it protects us?

If I do not choose to continue as a Pro user and revert to a Free user, how often is the Free version updated, especially against newly discovered bugs and malware threats & vulnerabilities?

Is your product coded from scratch or is it based on another browser and, if so, which one?

How does your product treat each opened web page: is each fully/partially loaded in memory OR does it get cached to the HDD OR what?

Respectfully and once again, I strongly suggest that you bring to the attention of whatever responsible parties at Sanwhole just how confusing and user-unfriendly Sanwhole's pricing and FAQ's are to its target audience. I visit BitsDuJour regularly and, everytime one of your Products is featured, most comments have a very negative tone because of those two areas.

Thanks & regards.

Hubert CANEVET Renew code does not exist.
Is it for that reason that displaying a web page is impossible ?
A message box would be more welcome than the disappearance of the software from the screen.

The installation is not standard-compliant at all : I had to give the user the admin rights for the time of the installation, and to redo the installation for each user.

In fact, I forgot to seize the "renew" code.
Once it is done, I have a message telling it is not good, but the software can now display some pages.
After that laborious installation, the test can now begin ...

Obiwan Canobie Hi, I am running the software as admin and installed as admin but can't get this registered and have tried everything. I keep getting the message "Renew code does not exist (8)" Any ideas? I'm assuming the renew code is the registration code I got via email

I'm clicking on "advanced" - "renew" and entering my info. The renew codes button itself does nothing.

Any ideas??

Thanks.

Steve Ball This is unbelievable. I'm trying to get Vole Internet Expedition but find I have to have a Facebook account to download it. I don't have Facebook and don't want it. Security is lousy there. The fed's are combing through it all the time. They catch nearly 70% of the people they are looking for with leads from face book and other like sites.

Why can't you make it as easily available as the other programs you offer?
This is bad PR.

Hubert CANEVET Well, the number was refused in the Account dialog box, but accepted in Renew. The title bar now shows Professional Edition. It would be interesting to know the supplementary functions this gives.

Steve, I got that without any Facebook account. The button to connect to Facebook is very visible, but underneath you can find a link to answer to a questionnaire instead. Pay attention to authorize scripts and external cookies.

Eustace Phenackertiban @ Norman Wong - "Please go to http://www.sanwhole.com/faq-sales.html and see the online document item 1.1,1.7 and 1.8. That can answer all your questions."

Well, no, it answered some of my questions. I gather from reading that that once the software reverts to free mode, eight of the ten "Explorer Projects" (Is that the same thing as VMCs? If so, why not just say so? This is the kind of thing that makes your so-called documentation so bloody opaque.) will become read-only, so that one can continue to view them, but can no longer edit (add/subtract sites) them. Is my reading of that correct? If so, I ask again--which eight? The last eight? The first eight? Some combination chosen arbitrarily by the software? A set chosen by the user at the time of reversion? Or some combination based upon whether the moon is in Taurus that month?

God I hate these bizarre restrictions! I can honestly say that in the 31 years I've been using a computer I have NEVER encountered a business model such as yours. Ever! Does anyone ever actually pay you full price for your product, knowing in advance that the product will revert to decreased functionality after a year? I certainly wouldn't, and if I was still in the position of purchasing software for my company, I would not risk my job by purchasing software under such conditions.

Hubert CANEVET You know what ?
This afternoon the title bar of Vole Internet Expedition shows me "Free Edition" again.

--
Edit : The Renew Codes Manager, on the toolbox, is a download list that contains the upgrades to other versions that have been obtained, for instance Professional Edition. Selecting that value puts it back in the title bar.
While I am there : the VMC helper seems to be a good source to discover VIE. Same topic as in the video, but more detailed.

Amit Hello,
I like vole products for their nice interface, but have a strong suggestion about a limitation which really makes their use to be very bad.
I had already bought other vole products as file manager (as explorer alternative), but I just didn't make any use of it as it had so much big memory usage just with one folder opened at startup even. so please take my greatly lighten the memory usage, while not hampering the interface much. that will make users like me who dont want memory intensive applications, buy vole products. thanks if you can really look into this suggestion.
May 8 2015 at 9:12pm Copy Link

Norman Wong @ Amit - Vole Windows Expedition occupies 150M memory when no loading scene and occupies 250M memory when loading built-in scene example which open 15 files concurrently.

Vole Internet Expedition occupies 150M memory when no loading scene and occupies 450M memory when loading built-in scene example which open 8 web pages concurrently. Compared to Chrome that occupies more than 500M memory when open 6 web pages, it is acceptable.

Vole series products have been optimized on system usage from the version 3.24, and normal CPU use rate is 0%. Thank you for purchasing our product, I recommend you upgrade to the latest version.

I am very curious as to why the 3-month install restriction. Is it because of the price and BDJ offer. I really do not want to purchase something then after 3-month's would need to re-install it and couldn't. Thanks for the clarification!!

I do see this purchase of "Vole Internet Expedition Professional Edition" in the "Off-Site Purchases" section of your Purchases page.

Please notice that the "Off-Site Purchases" section shows promotions for which you have clicked the Get This Deal button while the promotion was active. Our system does not have an automatic way of knowing if you did go through with the purchase. But in this case, since you do say that the purchase shows up in your PayPal account, it means you have purchased this product and the vendor should be able to identify your purchase and resend you the registration information.

Tip Ho I remember years ago, a browser came up claiming to be, and advocated by "critics" as being the most advanced and speedy browser available. The only thing is that it demanded purchase before use (or after a limited trial, I do not recall exactly). It has now been offered "FREE" for quite a time. However, it seems to be too late, the comet is bow burning the very last bit of its trail.
Mar 26 2016 at 5:27pm Copy Link

Norman Wong Yes, we successfully drive off the browser that demanded purchase. What did we welcome, really free browser? No, but omnipresent advertising and built-in advertising based search engine in "free" browser. This is inevitable, because there is no free lunch in the world. This is the economic law.

Because Vole Internet Expedition demands purchase, we can really provide free web browser feature. We don't embedded any advertising. We even provide free AD-Blocker feature. Vole Internet Expedition is not only a web brower, if you only want the web browser feature, it is totally free, security and no advertise.

eb235 Am I right in observing that Vole website shows absolutely no purchase price for any of its numerous software products and any of its various licensing schemes ?
Am I right in guessing that you have to install at least one of these products to access the online store where this information is meant to be found ?

It would be all fine if we lived in a world of features where finance is no matter...

I can understand some (many ?) people resent changing their habits. Others are willing to do so. But if you want to establish a new, unusual way to do something, you have to be extra instructive. Unfortunately there's this recurring feeling of all-out guesswork with Vole offers.

In other words, Vole, please realize that 'incomparable' in the software market does **not** mean 'hard to compare'.

Rob User I totally agree with eb235, have you really got to jump through all those hoops to find the purchase price? I would be very cautious with a company that refuses to be up-front about their purchase pricing strategy and actively hides it from their website.

Even if I was vaguely interested, the only way I was able to get a hint of the cost of this software was to dig around until I found the Purchase Video and watched it until the How To Pay educational scene appeared.

Really?.

Sorry guys, I am not installing software simply to give it a try, but to have to find out what it's actual price is? That's just plain weird and sends out entirely the wrong signals about the companies motives.

PS I do not expect all software to be free, I am happy to pay IF I find it useful to me. I even contribute to Wikepedia annually because I use it so regularly.

Norman Wong @ eb235 - Thanks for your comments. I know that our product is a bit difficult when start, but then it is easy to use and has unique features.

We do our best to use the market well-known way to achieve our special features. But we are often unable to do so. Most main features of our software are unique in the world. It is really ‘hard to compare’, because you even cannot find the compare target. We are not interested in innovation but have to only.

We create a lot of screenshot, tutorial video and online Chat to help users learn how to use our products. We create built-in Testimonials, Discuss, Blog, Forum, Chat and Vmail in each our products. I know this is not enough, but we have been working hard.

Jeanie Kiser I went through the entire process of downloading and activating the software. It is quite cumbersome, but it did work.

I tried using it... It's not really user friendly.
Decided to watch the tutorial videos... Unfortunately, the videos aren't as helpful as I'd hoped. They are silent with background music. Nothing was explained. [If there are actual explainer videos available, I would like to watch them and would possibly consider re-installing, if I found merit in doing so.]

Tried using the software again...

The software tends to freeze up. I had to shut it down and restart a couple of times.

When using the browser for the first time, I typed in google.com, but it forwarded me automatically to aol.com instead. I had to type it in again to get to Google. After that, It redirected my direct website url input in a couple more instances...

Went to mapquest.com and received a blank screen. Went to another page on mapquest and received a message that I needed to update my browser, the browser that I was using was outdated.

The premise of the software is good (with the ability to have several designated screens open to view several pages at once and save your preferences), but it's not easy to use and seems to take up a lot of computer resources.

I decided to uninstall...Biggest reasons are that it needs updating and more user-friendly features (or at least better tutorial videos.)

I really appreciate your making this software available here and would appreciate hearing back with any comments that may help users of the software. Thank you.

Daryn Bogart @ Norman Wong .......

This is a VERY simple question........What is the purchase price for the browser after the introductory period? If you can't answer that, then you come off very badly considering your only justification for the browser not being free is that it supposedly is ad free.

There are many ad blockers that can be add ons as well as the Microsoft Edge browser that does exactly the same thing. I haven't tested your product yet and normally denounce anyone that complains about getting something for free, but I need something other than "Try it first and if you still wish to stand by your original ideas, contact me."

BDJ users are very faithful and stand by one another when it seems like there are issues with any offering. So, that being said, I'll await your response. If you can't say what the price is for each version currently, then I believe you're going to have a lot more upset than satisfied people. If i want web pages in a gallery format without ads, I'll simply use Flipboard or the Edge browser.

_*_ @Norman Wong, if your company needs to create videos on how to sign in, and purchase your software, it is needlessly complex.
Think from a users point-of-view. To have to watch videos to do the most basic of things (e.g. buy the product), it is not worth the effort involved and users will look for an alternative.
Just my thoughts as you can and are doing what you think is right, it is just not something many will ever subject themselves to to get your product.

For me, I would never signup to have to sign in to activate a product or purchase one. Count me out, forever.

Hubert CANEVET This product could be an interesting approach if you learned what a Windows user is.
It is clearly unacceptable that each user on the machine must be given the administrative rights during the time to reinstall the software for himself.
So, just guess what I think of restarting the whole process for each update.

Or, I will eventually consider the idea that perhaps you find it normal to surf the web with administrative rights.

Nunya Biznizz Although the product looks interesting and feature rich, it also looks unintuitive with a cluttered design in a way that seems clumsy.

Many of the "features" of the software are available in free alternatives. Things like Gif animator, watermarking, etc. which seems to be just software bloat and makes me wonder "are these really necessary in my web browser?"

Personally, I have been using Maxthon (originally MyIE) for nearly 20 years. NO it is not the most secure bowser on the market, for that get Tor. Maxthon however has always been feature rich with things like Ad Block, Resource sniffer, Magic Fill, Split Screen, USB Portable, tons of user generated add-ons, Skin-able, and was the first tabbed browser on the market way back in the 90's. OH, and its FREE. There are a few features which were removed from Maxthon back in the early 2k that I miss, mainly being able to save tabs as a group to open at a future date (perfect for research), a feature offered in this software and what peaked my interest.

After reading through the comments I've come to this conclusion. Pay web browser = STRIKE ONE, One year subscription use = STRIKE TWO, Developer avoids answering questions openly and honestly and instead mocks those with concerns about program security = STRIKE THREE.

@Norman Wong. You might want to consider being less hostile towards your potential customers and instead try and take their comments and suggestions to heart to improve your future revisions of Vole IE Pro.

Doris Ballard Sorry, but it sounds like a lot of trouble (reading all of the above comments) for something which will stop working for you in a year if you don't pay for it. There are far too many really decent *free* browsers out there to go through that sort of trouble. No takers here!

>"Yes, we successfully drive off the browser that demanded purchase. What did we welcome, really free browser? No, but omnipresent advertising and built-in advertising based search engine in "free" browser. This is inevitable, because there is no free lunch in the world. This is the economic law."

Your statement is not true; otherwise, how do you explain "Open-source software," such as Linux, Apache Web Server, Open Office, and many other software packages including web browsers. Of all of the web browsers in use today, most are open source, such as Firefox. Many other "free" browsers have been derivities of Firefox, and some even based on the Microsoft Trident rendering engine that was used in Internet Explorer. Microsoft's browsers (Internet Explorer/Edge) have not been open source, but they have been free, and without advertising. Microsoft got into the Internet browser business a little late (into the mid 90s), when the most common browsers were products for purchase in those days (e.g., Netscape Navigator). Microsoft, wanting to eliminate the competition decided to offer their browser free, which forced the others to switch to providing free browsers, supporting the cost through website advertising (not in the browser itself) and other forms of funding, such as donations. The Mozilla project was aided by AOL's donation of their browser code, and not long after, the Firefox project started. Since those early days, there has not been a single successful browser that remains a product for sale. iRider was one of the last to try to sell a browser, but it too seems to be no longer available.

Your browser is truly unique, but for every odd little feature it has, there are many other alternatives that provide the same for free. Why all the overhead, and at a cost? Loading a browser up with many other features can make the main purpose of browsing sluggish, which your browser seems to experience. I have not found any reason to use your browser over the alternatives that operate much faster, and I know what they are doing. I cannot recall ever having to register or activate any browser. I never have to worry about any of the approximately 27 (testing) browsers I use refusing to work after a year due to an expired license. Of products that I do purchase, I have never had one that is so difficult to register/activate as your line of products. You have dug yourself into a hole that will be difficult to get out of. After using some of your products for a couple years now, I still do not understand why you think they are so superior. Rather than trudging on in defiance, you should turn your product into Open-source, so that others may have an interest in fixing it (crashes often, then suggests continue to run may be unstable!).

If the economic law is fully in force, how much does it cost you to use the Apache Web Server that serves up all of your website? Your website runs on "free" software (Apache) as does a large portion of websites. You pay the hosting company for the services they provide, but they are not charging you for Apache because they cannot. Thanks to the many developers in the Free Software Foundation that offer up a great "free lunch."

Norman Wong @Gary Smith - @Gary Smith – Thank you for sharing your opinion with me.

I totally agree what your statement regarding “Open-source software” in you first paragraph. It is also my opinion.

In the second paragraph, you said “I have not found any reason to use your browser over the alternatives that operate much faster, and I know what they are doing.” And “After using some of your products for a couple years now, I still do not understand why you think they are so superior.” Could you let me know if Vole Internet Expedition can do “One-click to get all your websites ready in a nicely gallery format” - the statement in the software page? If it can, could you let me know which other browser can do it? As you know, this is only one feature of our product.

In the last paragraph, do you mean you believe that there is free lunch in the world?

Norman Wong @ Nunya Biznizz - Why not try the software yourself first before post your comments. I believe you will use as little as these words, "the product looks...", "it also looks...", "After reading through the comments..." after that. Do you always post your comments just after reading other's comments? Do you really cannot find any pros of our product? If you cann't, let me know. I can help you.

Gary Smith @Norman Wong:
>Could you let me know if Vole Internet Expedition can do “One-click to get all your websites ready in a nicely gallery format” - the statement in the software page?
That is a question I would like to know the answer to as well. I had hoped to try Vole Internet Expedition on the current computer I am using today, but after the Install, for any website I attempt to see in Vole Internet Expedition, I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webp..." and "This program cannot display the webpage" so getting a group of pages as a gallery has not been a success for me. The error I get suggests:
•You are not connected to the Internet.
•The website is encountering problems.
•There might be a typing error in the address.
However none of these (standard Internet Explorer) statements are true. I can access any website just fine through any of the other "free" browsers I have, at the same time that Vole Internet Expedition cannot. Even Internet Explorer can access the pages that Vole Internet Expedition cannot. Are you using the Internet Explorer Trident rendering engine to display the pages in Vole Internet Expedition?

Your brower might be the only one that works as yours, but the Gallery feature has not been an important thing for me and (apparently) many of the other browser users. Retaining the previously opened tabs is quite common in browsers today, and serves quite well. I keep my File Manager open all the time, so image browsing and webpage browsing has not been something I desire to have in a single application. I am sure that there are others that might highly desire exactly what your product offers. Great, but it probably is not a large market.

>If it can, could you let me know which other browser can do it?
In fact, there was another browser that did a similar thing (I test many more browsers than most users do). All of the pages of multiple websites were lined up in a way that the user could browse through them by moving the mouse over the images(they highlighted by slightly enlarging). They could also be displayed in a fashion like your Gallery feature. It was more of a gimmick than a valuable feature, and now I don't even remember the name; it might have been a Firefox AddOn even. There are Tab enhancement AddOns for Firefox that can arrange all of the open tabs in a thumbnail view. Others allow a set of tabs to be saved, and many others have related features to your Gallery feature. Many File Managers can do a similar feature to what Vole Internet Expedition can do, and a lot of people do not realize that many File Managers will also open a webpage or start your default browser when a URL is entered instead of a folder location (if Internet Explorer was the default browser, Windows Explorer would open the URL in Windows Explorer).

Due to the flexibility of the Firefox AddOns, nearly anything is possible, especially with an Open platform that Firefox offers. Creating an AddOn for Firefox to do what your Gallery offers would not be an impossible task, however there must not be a big enough demand for it; time will tell. If one does get developed, you can always promote the countdown timer feature for your product.

While I have several browsers installed on a test machine, I mainly work on a computer that has the most common browsers installed (Internet Explorer/Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi, Tor, some Gecko and Trident rendering alternatives, KHTML, and even Safari). I try to keep up with any new browsers I learn about. Wikipedia has a list of the "notable" browsers, but no mention of the Vole Internet Expedition, as well as many others (so don't feel left out just for that reason).

>As you know, this is only one feature of our product.
Yes, but I also cannot think of any other browser that has a countdown timer as well, and the same for several of the other tools you have added. I do not mean that individually each of the tools you have merged into your browser are not handy at some point; merely that they are not in high demand by Internet browser users. Making the web browser a multi-tool application does not in any way make it as valuable as you think it should be. Firefox allows users to have any number of "Add-ons" for added functionality. Most of those are an assistance for the purpose of browsing, but there are certainly a number that are not related to browsing at all. The Add-ons feature is one of my favorite things about Firefox, and I know that it is very easy to add so many that things gets sluggish with Firefox too. I use several AddOns, and have tried out several in the past that did not prove to be valuable enough to keep. I can add the extras I need, and not be forced to have what the developer thinks I should have, but pay for. Your product is final by your choice, not the user's choice.

>In the last paragraph, do you mean you believe that there is free lunch in the world?
Yes, I most certainly do ... both literally and figuratively. If someone buys you lunch, it is a free meal, whether it is in hopes of a return favor or if it was simply in kindness. Software works the same way. Free software may encourage the user to "give back" to the provider, or to "give to others" in a similar manner (e.g., open-source or a simple Thanks or smile to another person). You are offering your software today in a similar fashion, hoping to get some renewal licenses in a year, or to encourage potential customers today. You are not unique of course; this is part of the foundation on which this website is based. Many of us here are looking for a great deal or even a "free meal" in software. Some of these "free meals" will go unpaid for forever, and some will generate sales. I am not unique in having tried some of the offerings for free, only to purchase later on, due to its value. Our society very often provides a "free meal" for the needy, without any expectation of a return. I do believe in a "free meal" and I have paid for many meals for others, but I do believe that I have received far more than I have paid for. Once you understand your concept of economic law is not correct, you will realize "free meals" abound in all sorts of ways.

By the way, when I click on Service, I get a crash indicating Vole Internet Expedition needs to close, and that the Continue choice will likely be unstable. Also, the error dialog button for "Latest version" and "VMC Reader" goes to a 404 page on your website. The tutorial videos show icons that I do not see in the installed version. This makes it difficult for users to adopt your product, even if you offer it up for free for a year.

Nunya Biznizz @Norman Wong. Thanks for the Reply. The reason for not just trying the software myself, in all honesty, is the registration process. I was interested until reading through the comments, realizing all the hoops i'd have to jump through just to get it up and running in addition to the time investment to test and learn the nuances of the software.

The above coupled with lack of answers to simple questions like:
Does the software "phone home"?
How much is the renewal price? (yes I understand I can jump through hoops to get the answer to this question, once the software is installed and registered, but why should I have to?)

But I didn't just stop there, at other peoples opinions. I went to your website and read through your literature.

Ultimately I decided against any further time investment for a product that didn't have significant benefits over what I currently use and would require a yearly financial commitment to keep using. Additionally there are too many features I rely on in Maxthon such as Gesture Recognition, Download manager, etc. which are not present in your browser or were not listed on your site. While I could get 3rd party software to handle some of it, I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to processes I like running in the background. My reason for mentioning Maxthon, was for your benefit so that you could check out what your competition is doing.

There are Pros to your software: Scene reproduce and docking-tabbed.

However these two features do not overshadow what I am currently using, especially at an annual cost to my wallet.

Norman Wong @ Gary Smith - Could you let me know one site address that you get the errors. I try to test on our side. A screenshot here is better. Could you confirm your anti-virus software doesn't block the software?

I get to know from your comments, you are really a web browser specialist. Again, only one web browser name that can do “One-click to get all your websites ready in a nicely gallery format”. So we can compare them here.

There are so many customers successfully Sign up, Purchase and Activate now, the operation must use Service. So please check your anti-virus setting again, if need more help, let me know.

Norman, just to humor you I went to the FAQ page and nowhere was the standard renewal price listed, just some fluff about coupons.

So, Norman, here is your ONE chance to provide an open and honest answer to a very simple question: In 12 months time how much does it cost to renew the licence for a further 1 Year In US Dollars (ignoring coupons).

Norman Wong @ Leslie Milburn - We provide price 100% off and 90% off promtion today. Price 100% Off promotion cannot be renewed, the software will convert to free edition after 12 months. The Price 90% Off promotion can be renewed and the renewal price is same with the price you purchase today. For example you spend $2.38 to buy Vole Internet Expedition Professional AUTD 1-Year via 90% Off coupon, the renewal price is always $2.38/Year.

For your convenience, I copy the renewal price term content from FAQ page to here:
[Renewal Price
How to calculate my renewal price?

Renewal price is same with your purchase price except for special declaration.

And No use No payment.
You don't have to renew if you don't want to use within the next service duration and you can renew with the same price at any time when you want to use. For example, you purchase AUTD 1 Year product and forget to renew in the next year, you can renew at any time in the future and the renew price is same as your first purchase price.]

That is what I said : Vole Internet Expedition needs to be installed separately by each user as an administrator, and this has to be redone at each update.

This is the explicit negation of all what has been done by Microsoft on Windows concerning security.

Worse than that : some data is saved in the program directory.

You have to make abstraction of this, and give the user the administrator's rights during the installation, to be able to test the program, which has some nice features, as being able to save a set of pages and redisplay them up-to-date later.

Chuck Brotman I tried his "browser" product some time ago. It was interesting, but confusing and had a poor UI. I was pleased to see it again, thought I'd give it another try. Maybe they got smarter (or maybe I did) and I'd be able to use it?? No such luck. after thrashing around with their rediculous "registration" process, which I could never get to work. I never got it registered!! so, I've given up. any product whose developers think that I'm going to jump through hoops to try, which is so convoluted to register, (never got to use it, this time -- and now I DON'T CARE). That's 20 minutes of my life, I'll never get back. then to see them defend their labrybrinth line proccess and product here on these forum. Tells me these are not people whose software I would want running on MY PcI

Pam Paulson Who is "they"? The company is headquartered in China, even the website's About says so. (And the terrible English confirms it.) But I wouldn't give a copy of my photo id to a company in the US, either. As software developers, I'm quite certain you're aware of what can be done with someone's name, address, date of birth, etc. Not to mention the dangers of facial-recognition software.

My state will not permit anyone but a police officer to write-down my driver's license number. Retail stores are permitted to look at the picture when I write a check but they may NOT record the information. There's a reason for that.

By the way, I've been a computer programmer and software developer for many, many, (too many!) years and have never had the need for your method of preventing re-sale of my products.
