What are people saying about Vole Magic Note Ultimate Edition

Roderick Nicolson "You must install/register the software within 15 days, and cannot do so afterwards."

Though this might be acceptable for a free program, and even though 'Vole Magic Note Ultimate' is priced here very cheaply it is only for one year.

Putting restrictions on when a bought program can be installed, in my book is unacceptable. I'm out!

govertz I will get it when the deal is up, but I will consider it as a rent, not a purchase.

If it was a purchase, then I would loose the right to updates after 12 months, but the software would still work.

With the pricetag at $ 1.50, I can accept the terms, but I would not buy it for $ 36.-

_*_ My guess is this is 96% off due to all the bad comments on various sites when the company tried to sell it as lifetime upgrades; meaning if you paid every year you would get lifetime upgrades, otherwise it would revert to the free version.
At a $1.50 little has changed.

Norman Wong Hello _*_, sorry for calling you like this, because I don’t know your name. But I can’t help laughing that _*_ is just exactly matching your portrait picture, isn't it? Don’t be angry, it is just a joke.

Every company has its pressure today, so do us. But we don’t have the “bad comments” pressure. Because we didn't treat any comment as “bad comment”. Every comment represents the user's opinion. Sometime we have to pay for these survey. They can improve our products, we thanks for them. Even some of our competitors false evaluate tells us that we are indeed beyond their products and provide customers with lower prices.

About the low price, we are preparing long time promotion named Sanwhole One Dollar Software. We will provide the lowest price to genuine users and return costs back to the user from advertising.

Thank you again _*_ for letting us clarified these. And we do hope you make some more different comments on our next products.

Norman Wong Reprinted Questions from Sanwhole Need More Help about this sale, public allowed by Don LaFavor - US.

Q: Does this program include a "Self-timed" extensive tutorial and the creation of an example "notebase".

A: There is a built-in example in the software installer. You can click the first button in the top left toolbar to load the example. Most of our screenshot pictures are captured from this built-in example.

There is a build-in tutorial video in the software installer. You can click the Getting started tutorial video button to play the video, the button is on the top right toolbar with a light bulb icon.

We have a DIY (do it yourself) tutorial video. You can see how we create the example step by step. The tutorial video is at the bottom of the software feature web page, you can click http://www.sanwhole.com/v...tures.html for detail.

You say here that I will know that you don't put any restriction on my activation (I guess you mean for 'Vole Magic Note Ultimate'). But what you say is a complete contradiction to one of your own written rules under 'THE FINE PRINT' here on BitsDuJour. You should read them. I didn't make it up when I quoted from it earlier: 'You must install/register the software within 15 days, and cannot do so afterwards'. (that's quite clear, isn't it?).
That's what it says. If this is wrong then you need to make it very clear to us that it's wrong, and you also need to make it very clear what it is that you're offering. These are the written rules of the sale, and it's what we have to go by.
As for 'a lifetime sales coupon', there is nothing on this webpage, that I can see, to do with this sale that says there is also a 'lifetime sales coupon'. I'm not sure you are saying to us what you think you are saying. I think there may be a language communication problem of some kind here.

Norman Wong @Roderick - Yes, you're right. We should put the coupon on this webpage directly. I'm not familiar with this system very much, anyway the coupon has been successfully displayed in this page now.
As you can see, this is one year sales, the service duration is from 2014-11-30 to 2015-12-01. The service will be started when you buy no matter you activate it or not. So the later you activate the software, the shorter service duration you get. This is why we set a activate limitation for 15 days. You can certainly active the software after the limitation.

Thanks again for you valuable suggestion.

Chris I clicked to purchase it and it took me to your site with the following information:

When you buy today, you will get this coupon automatically. And YOU can buy Vole Magic Note any edition
(include 1 Year, 4 Years or Lifetime; Commercial or Personal; Single or Server) one time with price 90% OFF
from 2015-11 -15 to 2015-12-15.

When I clicked the Paypal under the one for $1.50 it took me to PayPal but there was no where to choose lifetime so I presume there is no lifetime offer even though you state there is.

Norman Wong @Chris – Are you really finding a cheapest lifetime offer of this sales? If you are, I would like recommend one to you. That is Vole Magic Note Professional LTUD lifetime version – within this sales, it is only $4.8.

If you can’t support this $4.8 lifetime offer, Could you tell me what price you can support?

Do not hesitate, let me know now. I can apply a special price for you to our company and tell you the results ASAP. And If you think, not only you but also others can’t support this price, you can make a “Suggestion” to Bits Du Jour, and they will discuss it with us if they consider it necessary. Thank you.

Chris There must really be a language barrier here. So, in fact there is no lifetime deal, just $4.80 per year?

I also read that there will be advertising within the program from one of your earlier posts.
Nov 30 2014 at 3:46am Copy Link
1
_*_ To potential buyers, I would caution you to make sure "Lifetime" means a one-time payment to Sanwhole and you will receive ALL future upgrades for Free.

In the past Lifetime meant something like; "If you pay each year "for life" then you would receive "Lifetime" upgrades. The time you stop paying for your Lifetime upgrades the software would revert to the free version.

To Sanwhole, you really need to state things plainly regarding what you mean.

To devise some convoluted pricing structure where people are never quite sure what it means is a major hindrance to selling your software.

Maybe the people at Bits can help you with the necessary wording for what you are trying to sell.

Mark Johnson There are a number of things about the product videos and sanwhole website that do not make much sense.

The videos make it appear this is actually a diary program, as each database has in it 12 folders (one for each month) and each month has one 'note' for each day. If the organization is really like that, why is it called a note program and not a diary?

A particular note can have in it several reminders. So in the note for November 30 you can have a reminder for May 12, one for July 4, and one for March 28. Having all those different reminders organized under a November 30 note in a November folder doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Can you expand on this?

Questions from purchase page: http://www.sanwhole.com/v...chase.html :

The prices are all listed as "Test Operation Stage". What?

It states that notes are limited to 1kb each in free version, 5kb in pro, and 10kb in ult. Basically that means notes cannot be very large, and all pictures and other media are linked in.

It states that the max linked media size is 32Mb for free, 128Mb for pro, and 256Mb for ult. That contradicts what is stated here on 'Features', which says notes can have movies. Even with really, really good compression movies are a lot bigger than the advertised 'max linked media size'.

It states that the free edition has max media links = 10, pro = 100, ult = 200. Does that mean 10/100/200 links per daily note or 10/100/200 links per annual diary?

Subscription lapses, your company goes out of business, or something else happens that causes the software to revert to 'free' version:
Does that mean you've just lost a huge chunk of each note that is now over the max 'free' version note size, and lost all media over the linked media size or count of linked media?

Manuals webpage: http://www.sanwhole.com/v...nuals.html

I am assuming only the column labeled 'VMN' is relevant, and there is not a single link to any documentation in that entire column. Is the purpose of this entire webpage just to give the user a list of videos that are provided with the product?

Subscription:

Normally if you have to subscribe to a piece of software, that means some or all of the software is online. You access the software through a webpage, or your data is on a hosted server. Neither one of those seem to be the case here; it appears you download the software, install it on your pc, and all data is either stored locally or linked to from websites like YouTube. Are you seriously saying that somebody that purchases the Ultimate version today and never upgrades it at all can only use that software for one year before it reverts to the free version? That is way outside the norms in the industry.

govertz @Norman Wong So the deal is, I buy the software today, with the license to use it for 1 year, to $ 1.50 for the Ultimate edition.
When the year has passed, I will get the chance to renew, to whatever license I choose, and you keep track of my purchase, so the discount still applies after one year?
Do you send me a reminder when the year has passed, or do I have to keep track of it my self?
I find your business model a bit confusing, but it's your choice, and if I'm right, then in the end, it doesn't matter to me.
In a strange way I find it fair, a whole year to test the software, and then buy it at the same disounted price.

Norman Wong @Mark Johnson – (Part-I) Thank you for your professional analysis and evaluation, I will do my best to reply to your questions, if wrong, you are welcome to criticism my mistake.

We use time-line note structure is because we want to let user create note with the least maintains - they don’t have to maintain complex note structure just let search feature helps them find anything they want.

We organize all the reminders in one note is because we want to show how to create reminder from simple to complex in one place. You can place any reminder in any note. Reminder feature is just design for the scenario that you suddenly remind something when you are writing your note. You can create this reminder just under the position you are writing.

Mark Johnson @Norman Wong -- quoting,
"We use time-line note structure is because we want to let user create note with the least maintains - they don’t have to maintain complex note structure just let search feature helps them find anything they want. "

Please let me know if the below info is correct:

A database consists of 12 folders containing 365 notes total, representing one year. It can never contain more or less notes that the number of days in a year.

If today is November 30, 2014 and I want to enter 10 notes on 10 different topics, I have to either combine them all in one single 2014-11-30 note or pick 9 other days of the year to put the other 9 notes on, picking 9 days of the year I have not already put notes on.

Example:

If I am really into archery and over the course of 6 months I put maybe 45 different archery videos into notes, put 15 Amazon sales ads about different bows I might want to purchase, and on 20 occasions I put in text information about archery that I copy/paste from websites. There is no way to organize this information other than the date, so this archery information is spread across several months worth of daily notes.

Ok, now 6 months later I want to find all that archery information. I know there is no way in the world I put the word 'archery' on every single video, sales ad, and info from websites. How am I going to find all that archery information? If the notes were not saved by date I could have saved them all under a 'hobbies' folder, under an 'archery' subfolder.

Lets say that 6 months later I do happen to find some magical word to search on that returns all the notes related to archery. It returns 93 notes in the search results. The search results only show dates, so I have to click on all 93 dates and pull them up individually to have any idea what archery information is in each of those notes.

Norman Wong @Mark Johnson – (Part-II) We plan our products several stage. In “Test Operation Stage”, we often add new features, fix bug promptly, often upgrade and you can get the highest price discount in this stage.

Integrating images in to Rich Edit Text is very inefficient. We have this experience, when added large picture into Office Word documents, the response decreased significantly. So we separate images from text and provide a power media player dedicated to preview all kinds of resources include pictures, music, movies, documents, file folder, website, YouTube video and other online resources. This is a unique feature of our software. So a 10K pure text is enough for most situation.

We limit the max media size and max link media number is because the whole linked resources are integrate into a single file database – VMC library (the file extension is .vmc). It can’t be more than 4G windows file limitation. You can create more note (VMC Library) for different scenario. There is no limitation to how many note you create. A single file library has many advantages such as importing and exporting and no need the original resources.

If the software reverts to free version. There is nothing to change the note (the VMC Library). The software has the whole feature except for editing the note library. It has read, search, export features etc.

About the manuals, Yes, you are right. It is not good. We'll improve it.

Sanwhole - Nov 30 2014 at 7:13am Copy Link

Norman Wong @Mark Johnson – (Part-III) Yes, the notes that you can create is equal the days of the year.

If you suddenly have 10 notes on 10 different topics, you can combine them into one note or save them in 10 different documents and link all of them into one day note. You can click the right button to open the note menu to select which one you want to preview. And you can adjust the default preview document too.

You can link your 45 archery videos, 15 bows webpages and 20 occasions files to one day note too. But the software can’t search the content in the linked documents. You can add some hint into the day note. When you search the note you can match the video name, webpage name or occasions file name. Then you can preview the video, webpage and occasions file in the built-in media player via selecting the note item right button menu.

Robert Reese @Norman Wong @Roderick - Norman wrote: "As you can see, this is one year sales, the service duration is from 2014-11-30 to 2015-12-01. The service will be started when you buy no matter you activate it or not. So the later you activate the software, the shorter service duration you get. This is why we set a activate limitation for 15 days."

That's even worse! In order to get the full year of service, it must be purchased and activated today, Nov. 13, 2014.

Mr. Wong, there are several problems here which prevent me from accepting this deal, not the least of which is that the year's service starts when you dictate and not when the software is activated.

Additionally, when I purchase software, that software is good for as long as I wish to use it. A year's restriction on upgrades/updates is understandable, but preventing the use of the software I paid for after one year is unacceptable, even if it is very low priced.

There are many other issues, which I will not address, but under the current circumstances I would not consider purchasing your software.

Robert Reese @Norman - I guess you haven't done many of these. The way it usually works is that someone purchases the software and are sent a key for the current version. Often they have access only to that version with minor version updates that usually result from bug fixes, program tweaks, things of that nature.

What that means is no coupon is necessary. If they activate it five years from now, they have access to that five-year-old version and the subsequent updates up to, but not including, the next major version release. [EDIT: the next version release following their activated version.]

This is traditionally the way it is done. Your way is, frankly, curiously unique almost to the point of bizarre.

I also took a look at your 'version comparison' chart. It's amazingly convoluted. I'd expect that convolution for a Fortune 500 company that dabbles in small business or even consumer-level stuff, but for a small enterprise such as yourself it is excessively confounding.

Take a look at Corel's business model for their Paintshop Pro X series. While they have tried to make a subscription model out of their software, it hasn't worked that way. Yet they still offer two versions of their software, with full pricing, upgrade pricing, and cross-upgrade pricing: the versions are standard or pro, and the options are to upgrade from standard-to-standard, pro-to-pro, or from standard-to-pro (they may have removed even that last one).

Or, take a look at a PSP competitor and BDJ veteran, Zoner's Photo Studio. Zoner has been very successful with their BDJ campaigns of offering a free outdated version, an inexpensive current standard version, and offering customers discounted upgrades to the current pro version. Compare and contrast Corel and Zoner, and you'll find some strong similarities, and some stark differences. It's those similarities that should pay attention to in order for you to understand how the successful business model works for your type of software.

I do understand what you are trying to accomplish with your coupon strategy and your other pricing models, but it is unnecessarily complicated for you AND your customers. Software developers have been making freeware, shareware, and trialware for 30+ years now, and the traditional ways have been borne from these efforts and have proven themselves to be the best compromise between customers and businesses.

Lastly, remember, too, that your competition is now cloud-based and operates on both desktop and mobile devices. Unless you are able to utilize a cloud component like your competition, you will find it increasingly difficult to acquire and retain customers. This means that if your pricing models and business models introduce resistance then your task becomes even more difficult.

Norman, this might come as something of a surprise, but my criticism is here to help you. You seem to have gotten some truly oddball business advice, or you have tried your best as a non-business person to emulate some successful models you've seen in corporate-level structures. Those structures, though, don't translate to consumer-level business models, and the methods you are employing with BDJ isn't one that will translate to a long-term paying customer base.

Best of luck in any case.

HJ B I have downloaded and installed the program . I have three problems:

1. When I pull down the "about" menu, it says I have the free version - not the ultimate version. Does that mean we cannot test ultimate without first buying it?

2. In the right hand panel there is some kind of promotion slide show that I cannot terminate.

3. When I go to the help menu (it also seems to be an options menu), there is no help - it says - "Sanwhole Vole Help is under preparation".

I did not find your video helpful. You really need a manual that specifies the various functions, explains why and when they are used, and gives some sense of the program's flow. Do you have anything like that. Do you, at least, have a pdf that gives some information.

4. It is not clear to me what audio visuals and data apps the program will display.

5. What can be done within this application that cannot be done with Word or some other word processor?.

1, Yes, you can't test ultimate edition without first buying it.
2, There is a fixed advertising window in FREE version.
3, There is built-in example in the installer. You can click the first button in the top left toolbar and load it. Most screenshots in our websites are captured from this example. And there is a DIY step by step tutorial video at the bottom of this webpage http://www.sanwhole.com/v...tures.html. This video shows you how to build the example step by step.
4, You can go to http://www.sanwhole.com/v...nuals.html to learn how to update Adobe Flash Play, Adobe PDF Reader and Window Media Player codec. The software can play almost all type audio and video if you upgrade your Windows Media Player codec.
5, You can preview latest Microsoft Office Word .docx document without installing Microsoft Office. If you want to preview .doc document you have to install Microsoft Office.
You can go to http://www.sanwhole.com/v...tures.html and see "Multimedia Integrating and Playing" to learn more about document previewing.

Mark Johnson @Norman --
You and I have shared lengthy back-and-forth discussions about features of this software.

As I understand it, you have confirmed that a database consists of folders January through December, and each folder consists of one single note for each day of that month. In other words, it is not possible for the database to contain notes that are named anything other than a day of the year, and it is not possible for a database to contain more notes than the number of days in a year.

Also, you have confirmed that even in the ultimate version of the software it is not possible for a database to contain any media larger than 256Mb in size, and it is not possible for a database to contain more than 200 pieces of media.

Since every word document, picture, video, or anything else like that is counted as one piece of media, and a database cannot contain more than 200 pieces of media, that means a database has a very severe limitation in how much can actually be put in. A database has 365 notes (one for each day of the year), and even if none of those notes contained more than one single picture, document, video, etc. then in reality only 200 of those 365 notes can contain any media.

You also confirmed that a search of the database would be the only way to find a group of notes that have similar content. In my example, there were 93 notes drawn out over a 180-day period that contained information about archery. To be able to find those notes I would have to be very careful when creating them to always include the word 'archery' if I want to search for them and find them all, and the best case scenario would be a search hit listing that showed no info about note content but instead just listed 93 separate dates.

I really have to come back to my first statement.... this is actually diary software and there would be no useful way to use this as note-taking software unless you create a brand new database for every topic that you might possibly want to take notes on during a year. I really fail to see the usefulness of this software for anything but a diary, since its features cannot compete with any of the existing free or commercial note organizing software.

Thank you for your time.

HJ B There is no real documentation and the support is limited due to the language difficulties and, perhaps, there are some conceptual problems. My impression is that this program has potential, but the potential is held back due to the foregoing. For the English speaking market, the developer ought associate with someone who speaks both the developer's language and English, fluently and who has a good insight into data management. They ought produce a manual that explains the functions and objectives of the program and clearly sets forth the program's data handling specifications and development plans.

There should be some shortcut keys introduced, and, aside from bullets (check the spelling of that word) there should also be the standard numerical list capability. The limiting of the database to dates is not a good idea. It is convenient, for people who only want to use it that way; however, there should also be some pre-formated templates (with changeable titles) that permit the program to be organized according to project or client, etc. The search capability ought include bringing together notes that have key words. At present, it is the most primitive of searches, hopping from one find to another.

I assume that the program has a print function. I cannot find it.

Even though the demo version of the program is pretty useless, in its present form, I am going to pay the $1.50 to see if the "ultimate" is any better and to encourage the developer to take this pre-beta version and make it into a useful tool.

Mark Johnson @Norman, I did try the free version of your software before posting. Below is a summary of what I saw when using the free version of VMN. If you would like I will be glad to do a video review of VMN and post it online.

There is a button at the top of the application that when clicked gives options "UK 1", "USA 1", and "USA 2". This appears to be a choice of some kind of online server, but of course since there is no help provided there is no way to know what it is doing. The option "USA 2" cannot be selected.

I monitored the network activity of the application while I had a newly created empty database open. I can understand the software doing a check for updates when it first opens, but with VMN I saw much more than that. VMN is constantly sending and receiving data across the internet the entire time the application is running. I monitored it for a half hour, and through that entire period VMN was communicating through the internet every few seconds. There is no excuse whatsoever for this software to be sending and receiving information through the internet constantly while it is open.
That is totally unacceptable!

Every 30 seconds the application downloads a flash video into a TEMP folder under AppData/Local/Sanwhole/Vole Magic Note.
The downloaded video is actually named by the date/time it was created.
Example:
At 7:06 and 44 seconds, it downloads a video named 20141203070644.swf
At 7:07 and 14 seconds, it downloads a video named 20141203070744.swf
The video is nothing more than the vole media ads that show up in the 'Featured' pane, but they are actually downloaded through the internet every 30 seconds.
That is way way way beyond totally unacceptable.

Every time you click on any note that has media, a copy of that media is placed in the same TEMP folder mentioned above.

Every time you open a database, a help file (.chm) is created in the same TEMP folder mentioned above. The help file consists of nothing but an empty database structure, whether a database has notes and media or not.

Each and every single time you add text to a note, modify existing text, or make any change at all to text in a note you have to click the 'Save' button. If you forget to click the save button and click on any other note, your changes are lost and you are given no warning.
That is totally unacceptable!

It appears that the only way to add a timer or a task to a note is to right-click on the note, and choose 'magic touch', which creates a vertical area on left. THEN you have to push enter a few times to create horizontal areas in that vertical area. THEN you have to right-click on one of those sections in the vertical area on left and choose to add something to it.
That is absurdly complex! Not acceptable!
NOTE: There is also a 'Magic Touch' icon on the toolbar, but clicking it does not create this 'Magic Touch' area in a note. Only what is described above creates it. The 'Magic Touch' icon in the toolbar is labelled 'Getting started tutorial video', but no video opens when you click it.

If you are in a note that has a webpage link, and then again click the link to add a webpage link, the new webpage is not created in a new media player tab but instead replaces the existing webpage link. There is no notification to the user that the existing data is going to be replaced.
It appears that this happens with all media types. Instead of adding a new media player to the note, the existing media player data is overwritten with no notice.
That is totally unacceptable!

There appears to be no way to prevent a video from automatically starting when you click on a note.

When any kind of media is on a note, the text part of the note is not displayed. The only way I found to display the text part of the note is to right-click on the 'Media Player' tab, and choose 'Rebalance' instead of 'Prominent'.

Simple activities like adding a youtube video, clicking on the key manager, all sorts of simple things like that cause this error:
'VoleMagicNote' encountered a problem and needed to close, continue to run may be unstable. A generic error occurred in GDI+. That error window has a checkbox in it that says next to it "Ignor".

There are no options for database location or for anything else except a color scheme. You cannot even choose which icons should be displayed in toolbars, or which toolbars to show.

The search appears to be a very basic text search with no advanced options except match case and whole word. Since you cannot add tags to notes and the notes are simply named by the date, this is totally insufficient for any kind of note keeping software. Again, this is only acceptable for an extremely basic diary software and not at all for keeping notes.

The only options for creating a new database are to create a 2014 calendar database (a note for each day in 2014) or a 2015 calendar database. In other words, this is a very basic diary software and not acceptable at all for note keeping software.

Each note in the database has a number in the range 1 - 7 after the date. That appears to be the day of the week, starting on Monday. A 1 appears after a date that is a Monday, a 3 after a Wednesday, etc. There appears to be no way to turn that off or make it something more useful, like an actual day of the week.

The free version provides a link to the exact same completely unhelpful video that anybody can view just by visiting your website, but no other video file.

The free version provides a help file that doesn't say anything in it but "Sanwhole Vole Help is under preparation".

The free version has a window that cannot be closed called "VMC Discovery" that is nothing but a button that says 'click here' and does nothing when you click.

The free version has a window that cannot be closed called "VMC Helper" that is nothing but a button that says 'click here' and does nothing when you click.

The free version has a window called 'Featured' that cannot be closed and cannot be minimized and has extremely annoying constantly flashing ads for your other software. Ads I can understand but these change and flash (YES, THEY FLASH) every few seconds.

The free version comes with a sample database that is the exact same database used in all your ads.

The sample database includes 13 notes with information in them (January 1 through January 13). All 352 of the rest of the notes for the year are empty.

The free version includes in the 2014-01-05 note a word document (.doc) that renders terribly and looks absolutely awful in your media player. However, if the .doc is exported and actually opened up in the Word application, it renders perfectly.

The free version includes in the 2014-01-06 note a PDF file, but the note will not even open and just gives an error if Adobe PDF reader is not installed. A LOT OF PEOPLE do not use Adobe PDF reader and certainly won't install it just so your software works. For example I use this: http://www.tracker-software.com/ NOTE: When exported I was able to open/view the PDF file fine.

The free version includes a "keys manager", which is advertised on your website. Even in a brand new database it is not possible to add keys. The button to add or edit is grayed out, and if you right-click the 'edit-mode' option in the menu is grayed out. In the sample database there is one key, and the only thing that can be modified in it is when you click the button to 'Update access date'.

According to your website, the keys manager should work in the free version. Since it does not, that leads me to think it does not work in the paid version either.

In the "keys manager" if you right-click an invisible window opens that prevents you from clicking on either the keys manager or the main window of the application. The invisible window appears in the taskbar. Closing the invisible window causes 'VoleMagicNote' encountered a problem and needed to close, continue to run may be unstable. A generic error occurred in GDI+. That error window has a checkbox in it that says next to it "Ignor".

Each time the application is opened, after a few minutes there is always a window that pops up which talks about a self test.

I can go on and on. You are selling this as software for making text and multimedia notes. You really need to look at the software you are competing with and then rethink what you need to do with this product.
Try rightnote --> http://bauerapps.com/
Try ultra recall --> http://www.kinook.com/UltraRecall/
There are a whole lot of them, the above are only two examples. There are a lot of free ones too.
In each of those applications write some notes. Add some media. Add several pieces of media to a single note. Do a search.
THEN take a look at this software again.

Norman Wong @Mark Johnson - After carefully read your testing results, I understand that you really did a lot of testing.

But if I were you, when I want to test a piece of software, I will do same as the product getting started tutorial video step by step first, because everything has it's rules.
I will check if the software can really do the video said. I'll check if the built-in example really work fine. If it does, you have tested most function of the software, because you learn about the software just via these video, screenshots and introduction on their website.

I don't know what happened the software on your computer. But I can definitely say that Vole Magic Note can do every step that shown in the tutorial video and slideshow because we recorded the video and captured the screenshot ourselves.

So if you done as I said, you will remove most of them from your test results yourself. A picture or a video is better than a thousand words. Make a test video and put them online is a good idea. I really want to know what the software happened on your computer. But please note, do not violate our software use terms.

I am focus on something else now, I'll explain your test results later.

HJ B I purchased your ultimate edition for $150. My experience with the program has now been identical to that of Mark Johnson, and I now have the view that the program is both a substantial security risk and is so poorly constructed that it would be folly to use it for any important data or to think that it is likely to enhance accurate record keeping. It is more like an early pre-beta than a program that is worth testing or integrating into one's work habits.

I should also note that with four test database entries, three of which were empty and one of which had about 500 characters, the program used over 102 megabytes of space on my hard drive !!!

Can I get a refund?

Norman Wong @HJ B - "My experience with the program has now been identical to that of Mark Johnson". Do you mean you got the same test results with Mark? Do you mean you got the same test results using ultimate edition while Mark using free edition?

The software installer is about 51 megabytes, you must know it before you install it. When installed, about 100 megabytes. Because installer is highly compression archive, when decompress it will be obvious bigger, this is normal. I don't know why you are so nervous about 102 megabytes, Haven't you install any software before?

Any reasonable request, we will seriously consider, including your refund request. But before we discuss this. You should give us a reasonable explanation. if the reason is about your 102 megabytes problem, that is unacceptable. No any proof just bad words is unacceptable too. We do need you to make some screenshot or test video like Mark said he would do. We do need you let us and anyone here know which function we said but don't offer.

By the way, how much money you want to be refund? $150? Do you really pay $150 as you said in your post "I purchased your ultimate edition for $150. " We do need you clarify this.

Mark Johnson Norman,
Quoting what I stated above, "If you would like I will be glad to do a video review of VMN and post it online."

Since I have no reason to monitor this product thread I only found out that you wanted a video review when you posted in the forum and that message was emailed to me a couple of hours ago. From what you posted in the forum I get the impression that you believe I will drop everything and immediately do a video review of your software. Since I have now been requested to create a review video I will do that and post the video on YouTube.

Please understand that my regular occupation as a software architect takes up 40+ hours per week of my time, and I also maintain a part-time job of developing games for xbox, android, and iOS platforms, and add to that a number of hobbies and my spare time is limited.

When I did the initial review of your software which is posted on this website it was out of an interest in possibly purchasing the software, and due to the time limitations of sales on BDJ I had no choice but to do that review while the software was on sale. I have learned through doing that review that I have no interest in purchasing products created by Sanwhole.

Since there is no benefit to me in doing a video review except the satisfaction of helping others see what the true abilities and problems are with the software, it is not exactly the most high priority item on my schedule.

I will try to do a video review of VMN within the next week. Of course it will be a review of the free version since there is no time-limited Professional or Ultimate version available. I might possibly also review some other Sanwhole products at the same time, as it appears that each of these products are built on the same base and are very similar in operation. If I am unable to create this review(s) within the next week I will post back here an updated timeframe. When complete and posted to YouTube, I will link the review(s) here and also on a number of public review websites.

To be as fair as possible, I will download from the Sanwhole website and install to a fast, modern, up to date computer running Windows 8.1 Ultimate Edition each of the reviewed products. The installations will be to a fast SSD.

Please keep in mind that reviewing software is not my occupation and I am in no way remunerated for doing reviews, however I have many years of experience writing software, dealing with the expectations and problems found by users of that software, and also ensuring that issues found in Quality Assurance testing are addressed. That experience in many ways drives how I perform a review of software.

The review, depending on time constraints, will consist of as much as possible of the following.

The features of the product will be exercised and a large database representing several months of active product use will be created prior to starting the review.
The same thing will be done with at least one competing product that is either free, less costly, or in the same price range as the product under review.
The bulk of the review will be the use of that large database in a fashion that a typical customer might use the product after several months of operation. That use will be compared to similar use in a competing product.

Note: competing products are determined by the advertisements of the Sanwhole product being reviewed. Since I only have the free version of Sanwhole products to work with, any differences between features of the free version and the Professional or Ultimate versions that impact the review will be mentioned. Those differences will be mentioned exactly as documented in the product comparison table ( http://www.sanwhole.com/v...chase.html )
Example:
Vole Magic Note is advertised as the best solution available for creating and organizing rich text and multimedia notes. Its use in a daily environment will be compared to a competing product such as Ultra Recall ( http://www.kinook.com/UltraRecall/ ).
Example:
Vole Remember is advertised as software which helps you remember specific information. If I choose to review this software it will be compared to software such as Anki ( http://ankisrs.net/ ).
Vole Windows Expedition is advertised as file and folder management software. If I review this software it will be compared to software such as Directory Opus ( http://www.gpsoft.com.au/ ) or Xplorer2 ( http://zabkat.com/ ).
Vole Internet Expedition is advertised as a web browser that competes with and outdoes the top 5 web browsers. If I review this software it will be compared to one of the free web browsers and freely available extensions or plugins. Example: Firefox browser plus 'Tile Tabs' ( https://addons.mozilla.or...tile-tabs/ ), 'Tab mix plus' ( https://addons.mozilla.or...src=search ), YouTube High Definition ( https://addons.mozilla.or...src=search ).

I typically also review system impact and security. This involves things like use of the registry, frequency of registry access, disk use including location on disk, frequency of disk access, size of databases or other files that change, and safety of data including backup strategy. If encryption, passwords, or any other data which should be secured is involved, how safe that information is will likely be tested. Network (including internet) use is monitored, including protocols, ports used, and packets sent and received and the content of those packets.

Pricing structure of the product is reviewed and compared to competing software. I typically do not contact support for a simple review like this, but usually what type of support is available for a product is part of a review. If a forum is available it will likely be checked for response to customer problems. If the only contact available is a web form that will likely be tested to at least see that no errors are received when a contact attempt is made.

I notice that at least two products sold by Sanwhole advertise ISO 9000 compliance and management. In at least one place ( http://www.sanwhole.com/v...tures.html ) is the claim of ISO 9000 certification.

The current certification for ISO 9000 is ISO 9001:2008. The certification for ISO 9001:2015 will be the next certification available. Please let me know which certification body has accredited your software. I will contact them and ask for the current status of your certification before reviewing any of this software.

Sincerely,
Mark.

Norman Wong @Mark Johnson - That is a false positive. Because we know our products are total clean and there are 53 out of 55 antivirus software on VirusTotal.com that report our products clean. We also get many 100% clean awards such as at softpedia, majorgeeks, etc.

Norman Wong @ Mark Johnson – Yes, we still believe that “A picture or a video is better than a thousand words” and agree with your suggestion -“I will be glad to do a video review of VMN and post it online.” that you stated above. It was on Wednesday that I replied you, just one and a half hours after your post, click http://www.bitsdujour.com...ntId=95571 for detail.

Please keep in mind that it is your suggestions not mine, because you wanted to “helping others see what the true abilities and problems are with the software”. We accept your challenge and hope you do not eat your words now. So quoting what I stated above “I've been waiting for your test video for several days.” And if you would like I will be glad to review your video and post it online too.

Nobody cares what your occupation is; like nobody cares I started programming using Apple II computer. If you have to let people know that, you should pay more attention to what you say. No time, not an excuse. In any case, you should be responsible for what you say especially after you claiming your occupation.

If you decide to make the review video - you should do, because I believe you will not eat your words. I have some suggestion for you:

1, Understand
We hope you learn both comparison software and our software. No time, not an excuse. We can’t accept that you posted such a long comment at the two places at same time.

http://www.bitsdujour.com...ntId=95567
http://www.bitsdujour.com...re-listing

2, Fair
You’d better compare with the same edition, free edition to free edition, paid edition to paid edition or there is not much sense. Normally we will provide a free ultimate edition for reviewers, but we will not do this time. Because we want to let everyone here know what is the worst review to our products look like? If you don’t have our paid edition software, the easiest way is buy one.

And we also hope your features comparison is Pros to Pros and Cons to Cons. If you always compare our Cons to other’s Pros, that is unfair, I have to review your video about this.

3, User Terms
Please keep in mind that Vole Magic Note is Sanwhole’s product. It is not yours. When you use it include reviewing it, you have to obey the user terms. You don’t have all the rights like you said above. You can’t do anything you want as your products and put them into a video online. Do you always make that video for your products and put it online. If I don’t forget, you have claimed your occupation above. Do you always do that for you company? If you do, post a link here, let us know.

You can see our user terms when you install the software.

By the way, we can’t give you the software certification as you request “Please let me know which certification body has accredited your software.” Because ISO 9000 certification is authenticated to a company, not to any products including software. And even if a software company has the certification, that does not mean their software can meet ISO 9000 requirements. We state some of our products control process meets ISO 9000 requirements that is a unique feature.

Thank you for your time.

HJ B @Mark Johnson

Reading your description of what you are prepared to do to review this software, and then reading Norman Wong's response, my impression is that you will be wasting your time. In the main, his comments appear combative, rather than cooperative. The least he can do is provide you with review copies of the various versions of the software.

(I purchased the "ultimate" version of Vole Magic Note, and, following my disappointment, I have not received a refund. I hereby authorize and request Vole to transfer that license to you, if you still want it.)

It seems to me that the numerous obvious limitations, missing elements and bothersome peculiarities of the program (free and ultimate) raise the issue of whether its core diary database is reliable. A user who enters a great deal of data, over the course of months, wants to know that the application is reliable. Stress testing a database, to emulate its durability over time and over typical user errors and system environmental fluctuations, can be difficult or close to impossible. Comments made by Vole, on its website and via Norman, give no indication of the installed user-base, how users are using the program, and what the typical user complaints are. A well designed interface and clear, no-nonsense functionality, and articulate, focused support, do not establish durability, but are important factors in deciding whether to bet on reliability. The series of responses, from Norman, particularly his most recent response, are lacking in each of those fundamental respects.

I think your time would be better spent writing a more general set of standards as to what one should expect from software providers, such as Vole, before one uses their software, whether or not it is free, discounted or inexpensive.

Mark Johnson @Norman Wong -- if your software is being reported by the latest version of Kaspersky Internet Security and also one of the other antivirus makers as containing a trojan, but you insist that it is a false positive, that is a problem for you to deal with and not just dismiss. You need to contact Kaspersky and the other maker and get them to remove the false positive if that is the case. It is in your best interest to take care of this problem rather than simply dismissing it. As I stated previously until VirusTotal gives your software a clean bill of health I will not install it and recommend that nobody else installs it as well.

I do still have the installer which was present on your website during the BDJ promotion, which gets a clean billing from VirusTotal. When I have the time to do a review I will check once again for the current version on your website. Since that will be a few days from now that will give you plenty of time to contact Kaspersky and other antivirus companies about the false positive, if that is what it is. If at that time the currently available version still has the same antivirus problem as it does today I will use the older installer for the review, however the trojan report and your refusal to do anything about it will also be part of the review.

Also as I stated previously, your website makes the claim that you possess ISO 9000 certification. The only ISO 9000 certification which currently exists is ISO 9001:2008. Quoting on the purpose of the certification: "To achieve ISO 9001 certification your organisation needs to demonstrate that it can meet the regulatory requirements and apply the system effectively to be of real benefit to your customers."

Please review the information on this website: http://www.qualitydigest....valid.html#
As noted on that website, you should be perfectly willing and happy to provide me with the information needed to verify your certification status. Please provide that information as soon as possible.

Please also provide links to any existing reviews of Vole Magic Note. Of course I mean actual reviews and not one-line quotes or product writeups that you might have performed for software download sites. I will gladly link in my review to any existing real reviews of the product, whether they are positive or negative in nature. I have not been able to find any existing reviews, so your providing that information is appreciated.

I currently believe I will have time to do this review next Saturday or Sunday, December 13th or 14th. Please provide me information that I have already requested before that time as I will include it in the review. That gives you a full 5-6 days to provide the requested information and take care of the antivirus problem.

The reason I downloaded the software from your website this morning is because multiple times now you have given warnings about me violating the terms of your software agreement. That made me very curious because I cannot imagine anything about doing a review of a piece of software that could possibly be a violation of any normal type of usage terms. I looked on your website for those terms and found none, so downloaded the installer to see if it contained those terms. Since this morning's download reports to contain a trojan, I did not open it to view those terms. Instead I will view the terms at the time of review.

According to your product sales page the only limitations of the free version are the constant display of a banner ad and restrictions on the size of linked media and a couple of other similar restrictions. I have made an offline copy of that product comparison chart and will be referring to it during the review. I stated this previously but it seems to have been ignored: Since the comparison chart shows all features of the professional and ultimate products are also present and working in the free version, I can review the free version and make note during the review what the limitations are. According to your website I do not need anything but the free version to review 100% of the functionality. If your website is incorrect and the free version has other limitations that are not present in the comparison chart, I need to be supplied with information on exactly what those unreported limitations are.

Norman, I will not be posting again before December 13th or 14th when I actually perform the review. I posted a rather extensive written review of the product on December 3rd and so far your only response to that has been to tell me how you would review the product by following the exact steps of the sales video, and to make the comment, "I am focus on something else now, I'll explain your test results later."

I will post here and in the forum a link to the video review when I have time to do it, and also links to any supporting information not in the video. Please feel free to do your own video or written response to my review, but do not expect me to comment on your responses or to even read them. My prediction based on the nature of your comments in this thread is that your response to the review will be nothing but dismissive and telling people to ignore the review, and I have little doubt that "he used the free version to do the review" will be given as an excuse why my review should be ignored. That is precisely why I choose to do the review for the potential benefit of existing and potential future customers of Sanwhole even though I have serious doubts that Sanwhole will respond professionally.

Regards,
Mark.

Norman Wong @HJ B - Quoting your state "I purchased the "ultimate" version of Vole Magic Note, and, following my disappointment, I have not received a refund. I hereby authorize and request Vole to transfer that license to you, if you still want it.", you should think about these things below:

1, Take a look BDJ "THE FINE PRINT" carefully. I copy one of them, it is "Transfer of a license to another owned computer is allowed." Do you own Mark's computer? If you do, that explain why your comments are always follow with Mark nearly at same time even the promotion is finished. I will think that you and Mark is one person. If you don't, you will violate the fine print. We can't transfer your personal information to another person even if you authorize us to do so.

2, About refund you should take a look this http://www.bitsdujour.com...ntId=95587
I've replied you last Wednesday and I'm waiting for your reply.

About false positive, I've replied to you here http://www.bitsdujour.com...ntId=95713
Thank you for you suggestion, we've contacted them from last Friday when we released the software, but you know, we can't confirm the time. These two antivirus company joined virustotal.com several days before, you can see they are sorted in front.

About certification, I've replied to you here (at the bottom) http://www.bitsdujour.com...ntId=95723
Anyway, thank you for your suggestion.

About user terms, I've replied you at the middle part in the above link.

About free edition, we suggest you choice professional edition or ultimate edition for review. Because:
1) We only promoted professional and ultimate edition here.
2) If you draw a conclusion that free version has 100% function only from our comparison table, you are wrong. Do you expect we provide 100% functions to free edition? That is unfair to our paid customer. I can understand your thinking now, because you do not buy our products.

Thank you!

1. You ought to be giving a review copy to Mark, particularly in light of all the time and effort he has taken to give you sound advice as to your program. I did not transfer anything to him. I authorized you to transfer it to him. If you do not choose to do so, that is your business.

2. The only contact I have ever had with Mark is my reading what he has sent to you, and my comment to him, earlier today. I known nothing about him, other than what he has included in his comments on your software.

3. You should turn down your accusatorial tone, It only makes worse your position.

4. As far as I can tell, your website does not include a user forum. Is there some publicly accessible place which users can post their experience with your software?

1, Whether giving a copy to Mark is the issue we discuss with Mark. And it is Mark that insisted to review the free edition, I've suggest him to review the professional or ultimate edition serveral times, but he didn't accept.

We didn't receive your any request that want to transfer your license to Mark. As fas as I can tell, you tell your request to Mark in the comment above. If you really want to, send us an email please.

2-3, About your refund request, we replied you last Wendesday the same day you posted your request and waiting for your reply. http://www.bitsdujour.com...ntId=95587

We are trying to solve your request, our sales support is waiting for your reply, but we've not received any your reply until today you posted a lot of bad words to our products again, and complain not received your refund. What do you mean?

I want to let you know, if you continue not reply the comments that we want you clarify. We have to think you did not buy our product.

We reply all of your comments, you should know reply others is the basic fundamental respects.

4, We have the place for users post their experience with our software. Although not perfect, but we do have.

We organize all products segments as separate modules. These modules operatations are same in all our products. We recorded tutorial video for each modules. These tutorial videos are in the product Manual webpage. Select and watch the video, and you can write your comments below.

For example:
http://www.sanwhole.com/p...work-cover
http://www.sanwhole.com/p...work-cover

And add up the software Feature webpage Classic Experience tutorial video and Do It Yourself tutorial video. It is enough to learn about how to use the software.

We will create more modules tutorial video. We need time.

1. I think Mark has made clear that he would accept and review the "ultimate" version, whether you give it to him, or permit a transfer to him of my license.

2. It appears that you have no place at which you users can share their experiences concerning your software. The links you provided, are to a place where users can tell YOU about their problems with your software. It does not appear that you post those reader comments for others to read.

3. You have my bits identity. All you have to do is find it amongst the emails that paid for and registered the software with your company. If you are not going to transfer my license to Mark, then please send me a refund.

Mark Johnson @Norman Wong:

I didn't plan to respond again before doing the review on the 13th or 14th, but I want to give you one last chance to improve on your statements and actions before I do the review.

I have now stated multiple times that I would be glad to review the Ultimate version of your software. Since even purchased and registered versions of your software are time-limited, it should be a simple matter for you to issue to me an Ultimate version license that expires before Christmas. That would give me plenty of time to do the review and also ensure that I do not continue to use it after the review.

It is my understanding that you refuse to do that and instead state that I have to purchase the Ultimate version. As I have made it extremely clear that reviewing software is not my profession and I receive no remuneration for reviews, it would of course make no sense for me to purchase an Ultimate version of your software to review.

I have asked multiple times now that if you do not intend to provide me with an Ultimate version for review, that you give details on exactly what the differences are between the free and Ultimate version which are not already detailed in the product comparison chart on your website. My understanding is that you are saying there are differences between the free and Ultimate version which are not explained in the product comparison chart, but you are refusing to detail what those differences are.

If you continue to refuse to detail what those differences are and continue to refuse to provide to me a time-limited Ultimate version that expires soon after I complete the review, then my only choice is to use the free version for the review and assume that the product comparison chart details 100% of the differences between the free version and the Ultimate version. If I end up reviewing the free version you cannot later say my review is not valid, because it is you refusing to provide a time-limited Ultimate version which has created the boundaries of the review.

I have now asked multiple times for information to verify your claim of ISO 9001:2008 certification. I have even provided a link ( http://www.qualitydigest....valid.html ) that describes what a company that claims ISO 9001:2008 certification is expected to provide to those who ask for evidence of that certification. I quote the first two sentences from the above link: "The first thing you need to do when you are evaluating a potential supplier based on their ISO 9001 certificate is request that they provide you with a copy of the certificate itself. If the company is indeed certified, they shouldn't have a problem providing you with a copy of their certificate."

Since I have now asked multiple times over multiple days for you to provide evidence of the certification that is claimed on your website and you have refused to do so, if you do not provide that information by the 13th or 14th I will have to assume for the sake of the video review that you do not in fact have any certification and the claim on your website is false.

Also just a little information: Kaspersky is not a brand new antivirus that just joined VirusTotal a few days ago; I really do not know why you would make a claim like that.
If you contact VirusTotal you will find that Kaspersky has been one of the products used by them since 2006.
Kaspersky antivirus suite of products has won many product of the year awards in the past several years, and is currently one of the most highly respected and used antivirus suites available.
If you have a product which is reported to contain a trojan by Kaspersky, you need to contact Kaspersky immediately and not ignore it as if it does not matter. Kaspersky will respond immediately and if it is indeed a false positive, Kaspersky will remove it in an update pushed to all users later the same day. It does not take several days to get Kaspersky to act.

Mark Johnson Norman,
When this "product" first became available on BDJ, I downloaded it, installed it, and reviewed it. That review appears in the forum. As I stated in that review, I have never seen such a poor piece of software for sale commercially before.

That review was directed at BDJ, as I was asking BDJ why they did not actually review software before listing it on BDJ. If BDJ had actually reviewed the software (installed it and tried it out) they would never have offered it for sale.

Ever since then you have been badgering me about doing a video review to augment the extensive written review I have already done. I asked you for a limited-time license for the "product" to do that review. You refused to give me that limited-time license, yet still kept badgering me to do a review.

Norman, I owe you nothing. I have reviewed your software, taken a look at the really poor database you are using, and it is incredible to me that you are selling this commercially. I have no interest in any of your products, as your attitude here and the poor quality of the software itself definitely shows what your company is like.

Mary Wilson What are the difference between Ultimate and professional. Looking at the pricing and am a little confused on pricing due to past comments. Is there still a lifetime. What happens if you don't upgrade at end of year?

Please click http://sanwhole.com/vohel...Price.html to learn the software lifetime license introduction.

If you don't upgrade at end of year (AUTD editon), the software license will expird and automatically degrade to free edition. All you notes are still valid and can be read via the free edition but cannot be edit via the free edition. You may renew the software at any time.

Ela S. Some questions I have:

1. Which file formats can be previewed - can it preview .MHT files (besides HMTL) as well?

2. Does the program create its own database, ie have all media files to be saved in the Vole program as well?

Thanks

Yes, the software creates database, all integrate documents are saved into the database. Each note is a single-file database, file extension is .vmc. You may import and publish them at any time. You also may set password when publish. You may click http://sanwhole.com/vohel...blish.html for detail.

Product Edition: Ultimate Edition LTUG

When I updated to your newest version and signed in, it still shows free edition. There is no longer a place to put a renew code or anything like the programs used to be. It shows my info and I changed the HWID to this computer using your program. It still shows as free.

Norman Wong @Metta Zetty, Hello.

Vole Magic Note has EVPS feature. EVPS is Embedded Vole PageShare.

1) All websites created with EVPS responsive on mobile devices.

2) These websites can only hosted on Sanwhole Cloud. Sanwhole Cloud provides 150MB websites hosting space and third-level domain (http://pageshare.sanwhole.com/your account id/website folder/index.html) for free.

Sanwhole Cloud doesn't support custom domain. Sanwhole Cloud, mainly used for PageShare sharing, convenient for you to use Vole Briefcase, Vole PageShare, and Vole Magic Note, etc to create presentation, website courseware, notepad ideas and share them online, not used for website hosting.

3) EVPS supports embed HTML, any web services can be included if they can provide embed HTML code.

4) In fact, Vole Magic Note supports Windows 10. I will ask BDJ to change the spec. Sorry for this.

Dan P Very cryptic to me. I created a couple of simple pages in the Trial with an mp3 file attached, then tried to view them and I can't find and traces of what I entered. A Search returns nothing.

Norman Wong @Dan P - Hello,

According your description, you want to have mp3 download or play online feature for your website. This is not a simple work. There are many websites don't have download and play online feature. But Sanwhole Cloud support this feature. What is your website URL?

Dan P I am confused. I opened the Trial software and simply entered some data along with an mp3 file. After the entry I moved around between the various dates then returned to today and I could find no record of my entry.

Norman Wong @ Dan P - If you are just creating multimedia note, you can watch this tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/w...-0MhlXHwRI

This tutorial was created on Aug 1, 2014. Most operations are still valid except integrate YouTube video. Use "Link HTML Code" button to integrate YouTube and other embed HTML code now.

MojoMan Hi, Some pros and cons if i've got it figured out - so I thought Id better ask.

Does it maintain a cached copy of a webpage you save ? If so is it kept locally ?

As far as the directory tree it defualts to date structure but that is not suitable for me. So.. can you define your own heirarchy which is a necessity for my intended use.

Finally is there a tagging feature so that you can search a large amount of data quickly by filtering with tags ?

I've looked and tried literally too many "note/pim/database" type programs to count and never have found one program to do what I want. OneNote comes closest but can't handle webpages without making a mess of the format of most sites and also cannot natively handle pdf files (and the ways you can handle pdf files leaves a whole lot to be desired).

Devonthink for Mac is the closest I've ever seen to my "do it all" feature set but there is no Windows version and I'm pretty much stuck in Windows with the progs I use but I hate to have to run MacOS in a VM as a kludge of a workaround (not to mention you can't do it legally)

Thanks

Norman Wong @MojoMan, Hello.

1, Vole Magic Note save a notebook (with a 365 days preset time tree) to a single-file database and the file extension is .vmc.

Each daily note content and the integrated documents, online links and EVPS website are all saved to the vmc database.

You can export and import the vmc database to Vole Magic Note. You can edit and export the integrated documents and websites after import the vmc database.

2, Vole Magic Note can only support the preset timeline tree. Time tree is the core feature of Vole Magic Note. Vole Briefcase can provide complete custom define tree. But it is not convenient enough for a notebook.

3, There are four preset tag for each note: Not started, in process, completed and waiting.

4, Vole Magic Note can dowith many types documents and preview them in the built-in media player.

Another advantage of using our products is that all Sanwhole products support the vmc single file database. That means: If you write your notes, the partial data can be used without any modifications for Sanwhole other software, sucha as the data can be used for Vole PageShare to create a website, or Vole Briefcase to create your presentation.

Peter User Is the only way to organise the notes by date? I prefer a hierarchical subject based organisation. Looking for notes linked to a subject would be very difficult if you had to know the date it was created.

Vole Magic Note are organised by date. Please see the first line description "You don't have to bother managing notebook directories and names." in the software home page for detail.
