Felix User Why to make the registration so complicate ???

Douglas User Registration is a nightmare. I was able to get software installed but unable to get through registration process. Every time I tried to register with the VoleLicenses.txt file I downloaded after I created my Sanwhole account the install blew up. Registration instructions wrong, see about tab menu when installed (weird place for this menu). Too complex a set of events to describe here. Sigh!

Douglas User OK, after a couple more tries (I had to change to new install directory because previous location denied me access on reinstalls), I finally got it installed and registered. Thanks Norman for the link to the video linked above, that was helpful and I recommend anyone installing the software watch it.

jack hath Dear Vole Software people -- If you need a tutorial on how to register your product --- then you need to go back to school and learn how to build software.

Norman Wong @jack hath - Dear jack hath - We provide multiple methods to do with same things, in this case it is redeem and activate. For example, BDJ's provided pure text instructions, we've provided text plus images post on our website and tutorial video on YouTube. Maybe we will provide text plus images and video method on somewhere in the future. We can confirm that each method can complete the task. Which method is chosen is up to the user. Of course, you can select the pure text instructions method even you already know there is a tutorial video can do the same thing. That is up to you.

We do provide a tutorial on how to register our product. But sorry, I cannot go back to school to learn how to build software. Perhaps, schools should learn something new from a wide range of current software market, for example the software on BDJ.

jack hath About the software itself: Does it convert other formats (like MS Office, .docx, .xls, .ppt) to PDF?

As I read it, the software only handles documents created within the software itself.
May 30 2018 at 8:19am Copy Link

Norman Wong @jack hath - Hi jack, Vole PDF Creator supported docx, odt and tmdx from the very beginning if you have already installed the corresponding word processing software. You can import the document to create project, and when you click Edit, the software will automatically open the corresponding word processing software as add-in editor to edit the file. Once you save changes and confirm the modification, the later processes are same with the built-in editor.

Adam Page "We do provide a tutorial on how to register our product. But sorry, I cannot go back to school to learn how to build software. Perhaps, schools should learn something new from a wide range of current software market, for example the software on BDJ"

Snarky rude comment from a developer who seemingly struggles with software design, usability and the ability to take criticism. In my opinion, if the majority of your installs (63% US, somewhat dated) you may want to engage a native speaker if not to translate your thoughts and opinions, at very least to proofread your grammatically error ridden text. (present not just in your comments here, but within your software and website).

Like it's namesake, the vole, this rodent should be avoided at all costs, including "free".

Norman Wong @Adam Page - I am the leader of Sanwhole. I think even a English native staff cannot answer customers technical questions precisely. So I come here to answer customers questions one by one.

And like it's namesake, the mouse, if you want to avoid it, you should think about avoid all your computers first.

jack hath I believe most people want a PDF converter / handler that EASILY enables one to create documents in other formats (e.g., ".doc") and then maybe tweak them a bit.

Norman Wong @jack hath - Vole PDF Creator is a creator not only a converter. There are many free PDF "converter" online. But converter cannot support multiple bookmarks (or multiple tags, or multiple directories) and doesn't have editor.

Adam Page You've proven my point exactly. You're rude and combative nature is unprofessional in any society. I hope your attention to detail was at a higher level when during your years as a train/subway signal engineer. (Although it's easy to understand why you're no longer in that industry.)

Without regard to any success you may have had in your previous career, you ARE NOT not the "technical visionary" that you believe yourself to be. And yes, as the Sanwhole OWNER (leaders are born not made), if you don't understand a question, you have an implied duty to continue inquiring until you DO understand. (Differing from your "screw you" attitude that is quite obviously second nature.)

All of this matters not, as I'll not now or ever risk my systems (or my clients systems) to any of your poorly conceived and written "solutions". Have a wonderful day and please reconsider having someone else handle your client relations or, at the very least, review your responses.

Norman Wong @Adam Page - In fact, I don't need to reply to non-technical posts like yours. As a person who claims to be a English native speaker, it is not appropriate to openly publish purely personal offensive posts just based on personal imagination. However, I still want to thank you. You really spent some time on me. But in any forum, your post will undoubtedly be deleted or even your account. Thanks for the tolerance of BDJ.

Bill Sech This was ridiculous. After a complicated process of guessing what they mean by this and that I finally ended up with a license text file only to discover that the installation is on a network resource that is no longer available "Fatal Installation Error". Uninstalling and reinstalling leads to the same error. At least I could uninstall the residuals and now I'm just going to forget about this program after spending 45 minutes on it.

Norman Wong @Peter Blaise - Hi Peter, don't worry. In fact, this version of the software already has the ability to edit existing PDF. We just switch off it temporarily. The reason is that we have just embedded a new editor in this version, and the software has made huge adjustments. We hope that in the next one to two weeks, we will observe and amend some bugs and then open the function.

Peter Blaise .
Thanks, @Norman Wong, good luck with PRF editing, since PDFs are horribly non-standard -- flow is unlike epubs, page elements ( numbers, headers, footers ) could be anything, inside the content, or outside the content, and some text pages simply scanned in as images, and some have ( inaccurate ) OCR underneath for supposed cut-and-paste support, but no direct editing or reflowing because, hey, it a PICTURE, not text!.

In Adobe Acrobat Pro, I can enter typewriter mode and add text without caring about anything else, and also I can export a full page to an image file, and then I can add text on top of the image in free IrfanView or other image editing program.

Full editing, full reflowing, full re-sequencing page elements, full ADA compliance for screen readers for the blind is a NIGHTMARE ... and all because no one else came up with a controlled presentation method, so we're using a PRINTED page presentation program as if it were a creative-document-editing system.

Cart, where's our horse?

Norman Wong @John - Hi John. Thank you for sharing the screenshot. This small form is used for the software update information. It shows the current version, the latest version and the change logs from the current version to latest version. Since the software already is the latest version, the update information is blank. You can click "Ignore This Version" to block the software to pop up again until the new version release. The reason that we keep this form even when the current version is latest is I hope users know this new feature. But it seems that it's made some confusion. I will consider improve it in the next release.

Norman Wong Hi everyone. We are sorry for the delay for the help file of the software. We will release the first version next Monday?

Here is some tips for using the software.
1) Project Manager button - at the top left, the 2nd small button
You can click New to create a new project based on buil-in template.
You can click Import to create a new project based on existing files. (support txt and rtf now, it will suport pdf in the next release. It also supports docx, odt and tmdx if you install MS Office Word, OpenOffice or SoftMaker)
You can click Export PDF to export PDF.
You can click Edit Word to edit the project.
2) Projects Pool button - at the top left, the 1st small button
All you projects are stored here, you can switch one of them to the current project.
And then edit it, export it etc.
3) VMC view, Design view and Split view - at the top left, the 6th ~ 8th small button
You can select diffenent view for preview, edit.
Please note: the view is not auto selected for different operation. For example, when you click Edit Word, you must manually swith to desin view or you cannot see the built-in the editor. Of course if you screen is big enough, you can select split view - always see the two views at same time.

Bruno Verschraegen Two "funny" things.

1) At the end of the install process, the programme tries to convince you about something that needs to be updated - which turns out to be a web browser by Vole. I think the wording is misleading and trying to convince people to install unknowingly a web browser. That programme works fine without that so-called necessary update.

2) Coincidence or not? Since I installed this yesterday, I had two occasions of a window popping up with some message about some copying have gone wrong and saying something about "sword could not complete...". Is this behaviour related to Vole PDF Creator and, if so, what is it?

Steven User Hi Norman: I am used to using the scan feature as a(my) normal part of importing a document that is not on my computer. I have at least two programs that allow me to do this from within each program it's a convenient feature and time saving. One is Adobe Acrobat and the other PDF24. if you wish to check.
I check out many of the programs on BitsDuJor not so much for a discount or free but to check out new ways, programs and formats that make work easier and sometimes fun. hth Steven

Norman Wong @Bruno Verschraegen - Hi Bruno,

1) Sanwhole any product installer doesn't ask users install unnecessary things even if ours. Please confirm your installer is download from Sanwhole or BDJ directly. If you mean not "at the end of the install process" but "at the start of running the software", that pop up form is the software update informer. Please see here: http://www.bitsdujour.com...tId=137769

2) SWord is the super wordpad editor, a program part of Vole PDF Creator. You can find it at the installing folder. Please confirm .Net 4.0 and Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 are installed. Vole PDF Creator need .Net 4.0, SWord need Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013.

Norman Wong @Steven User - Hi Steven, thank you for your reply.
According to your description, I understand that the scan function you hope for is that you hope that during the PDF creation process, Vole PDF Creator can add pictures that are scanned by the scanner. Is that right?
Sanwhole - Jun 1 2018 at 3:11pm Copy Link
0
Bruno Verschraegen Thank you for your reply with regards to SWord. It may be a conflict with another utility because it definitely came up while trying to copy something which I was not going to paste in Vole PDF Creator but while Vole PDF Creator was open.

As for the prompt to install something else, it was indeed the software update informer and it suggested that "Vole Internet Expedition" was missing. I still think this is somewhat misleading, since that extra software is not at all required to a) run the programme b) use your computer. It is a commercial product being strongly "suggested"... Just my opinion.

Desired features: scan or photograph anything, as well as OCR recognition of any input, and editing and correcting OCR and text, including image-to-text conversion, and OCR text recognition UNDERNEATH an image of text so the original text image appears original, yet search and copy work for text underneath a text image, as well as straightening and de-skewing and de-distorting a photo image of text so as to appear square and straight.

Jim Buchanan A few questions about Sanwhole Office Ultimate Edition LTUD.
First: What does LTUD stand for? (I'll probably feel like a fool for asking but clarity is good).
Second: I went to the Sanwhole Office website and it said that their various programs are compatable with MS Office. That's okay but is it also coompatable with SoftMaker Office NX Universal, which I'm thinking about changing to shortly?
Third: It says here "Sanwhole is offering unlimited iSchool tele-education servers and client side software completely free of charge to schools around the world". I noticed the "i" and wondered if it must be a Apple product that uses it? I do not use Apple but my grandchildren do. What level of school does this apply to - Elementary, Intermediate, or just High School? I'm thinking HS.
If I get this then I'm going all out.

Jim Buchanan Thank you, Norman Wong. I tried to ask very simple questions that would require simple answers. I looked at the pages you suggested and thought about how hard the questions I gave are to answer:
"What does LTUD stand for?" - It stands for ... Likely To Utterly Destroy the competition - right? No?
"is it also coompatable with SoftMaker Office NX Universal" - Yes it is or no it isn't or I don't know.
"wondered if it must be a(n) Apple product that uses it?" - Now this is another hard answer - Yes - No.
Instead, I have to spend a lot of time (for me, that is) to figure out what exactly is on those pages and where to look. I gave up and have given up on this software which I thought would be great.
However, I trust you will be great for others who ask more 'hard' questions.
Am I a little upset? Nah, I expected as much and I'm too damn old to think about pleasantries. You all have a nice day.

Norman Wong @Jim Buchanan, Hello.

1) LTUD = Life time use + free 2 years upgrades, Please learn more here: https://sanwhole.com/Home/Agreement

2) The use of Vole Word and Vole Excel is similar to Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Most word processing software uses Microsoft Word standard and can process Docx files, including OpenOffice, LiberOffice, Softmaker, etc., as well as our Vole Word. But Sanwhole software doesn't support Softmaker proprietary file formats.

3) "i" stands for "Internet". iSchool server and client can only run in Windows system. iSchool does not impose any restrictions on the types of schools. This is up to the school to decide. To help students learn safely, welcome to join us. If you need, we can provide more detailed free support.

Masood Khan I received an email for Vol PDF Creator Pro with the Key and supposedly a Download link. But when you click on the download link, it takes you to their website with a very convoluted list of all the software. It is very difficult to decide what to do. For PDF Creator, I downloaded the file that was blinking- It turned out to be The Studio with so many software, now I don't know where to add the key for the PDF creator that I received in their email.
I don't want so many software in the list and in the installed software. It is very confusing, time-consuming, and frustrating, For that reason, perhaps, I will never purchase any software from them, even if it is free.
I am very very frustrated.

Colin McAllister Norman, I tried, but the activation/registration defeated me too. I took the registration Information from the email and pasted it in *twice*. I kept getting "Check your email" messages. I tried a third time and got into the main program. No difference from the previious 2 attempts.

I tried "redeem voucher code", and was asked for email, password and voucher code. I have no idea what the password might be, so I chose one. That didn't work.

Go to website, go to email, enter "Voucher code", "registration information", "activate this pc", "redeem voucher code", plus email details, plus password. Sorry, but I'm moving on...life's too short.

I was expecting something like PDF Architect/Expert etc but I am not at all sure what I have installed. Presumably only the PDF functionality will work, so why install the rest? Installation including a totally unexpected 'building database' scan, presumably of all my files! I will try to use it at some stage, but am rather wary as a result of all the above.

Sorry I don't remember better, as I wasn't taking notes, not expecting to have to describe it. As I said, it seemed like it was building a database of all (pdf? MS Office?) files that it could load. I thought maybe the installed program wants to know all the files it can work with so it can list them to me - like a music manager. However, it just did this without asking, so I was rather taken aback.

Following your response, as author of the software, I am now even more concerned that something else was installed.

Norman Wong @Stephen Barker, Thanks for your explanation.

Your second post says "...something like it was building a database" instead of "...including a totally unexpected 'building database' scan, presumably of all my files! " in your first post.

Please note that I can't explain to you these self guessing questions about these"...something like, ...it seemed like, ...I thought maybe". What I want to solve is what do you complain about our software?

If so, make it clear. And since you are complaining publicly, you are obliged to attach the necessary evidence, for example some screenshots. And we have a responsibility to explain it to the public.

If not, I suggest that you do not publish it in public, which is purely your personal guess. Because it will mislead the inexperienced readers.

Stephen Barker @Norman Wong. Thanks. Your question was 'What was wrong'? Well I think it has installed correctly, but I have not tried using it yet. So I don't have a current problem as a user of the software for you to solve right now, thank you.

To explain myself ... first why I haven't used it yet, and second why I posted.

I have four reasons for not using it yet.
1) No immediate need.
2) slight wariness over what it did during installation
3) not being sure quite what it is that I have installed
(I am expecting something like Acrobat or pdf Expert, but the product looks like it does more than work with pdfs. The installation process seemed to involve installing a comprehensive product and licencing only part of it - but it wasn't clear)
4) apprehensiveness about how difficult it is to learn to use, because of 3).

I posted because I thought that other users of this site would want to be aware that
1) the installation process was complex compared to all other software I have installed from this website
2) the software installed looked like some kind of integrated suite (perhaps much non-pdf related functionality?) certainly more complex compared to my expectations from other pdf packages
3) That the installation process including building a database.

I'm sorry that my report of the database scan seems to be an issue to you Norman. I know I read something like that as it was installing. Perhaps 'Building Database'. I think it was shown at the bottom (a sort of status bar?) of the centre-of-screen installation screen, which was roughly 10cm x 5cm. I think the centre-of-screen box may have been yellow or yellowy green. More than that I can't say.

Thank you for offering to help.

Norman Wong @Mariusz Nuckowski, Hello.

"You must install/register the software while the promotion is active" is only for giveaway license. There is no activate time limitation on purchase license. You can redeem the license later.

I checked your account and found, you have not redeemed the Vole PDF Creator code. You need to follow the BDJ receipt instructions to redeem it first. And make sure you are using the latest software 5.36.21052.

Bob Bacle Why do you only give 6 months of use for this?
What happens after 6 months?
Is it still usable after 6 months or does it become unusable?

Constantin Florea @InsaneXade, It's actually the second day as this promo was scheduled to run for 48 hours. We do run 3 day giveaways for some of the titles but those cases are more rare than the 48 hour ones. On average this happens once or twice a month.

InsaneXade my mistake, @Constantin Florea. However, Like the others, I feel 6 months is far too short for a free app. So I say Pass

Pete User #1. It is not clear to me, is your software a PDF editor? Can existing PDF documents be edited (as with Acrobat Pro, for instance)? Or is it a word processor that outputs PDFs?
#2. What happens after the 12 months? Typically, I avoid software that stops working or has some kind of time-bomb. Do you have a standard license that does not expire?

Norman Wong @Pete User, Hello.

Vole PDF Creator can create PDF and edit PDF that created by it. If the existing PDF is created by other software, Vole PDF Creator cannot edit it directly. Vole PDF Creator has embedded Word editor. It doesn't need Office Word or Acrobat installed. Vole PDF Creator supports Block command lets you define block once and reference as many as you want. You can watch the top YouTube video for detail.

Today, we also offer LTUD edition that can use lifetime. LTUD is described here https://sanwhole.com/Home/Agreement
