Elizabeth Bright Hello, I'd like to take advantage of this offer but I am in the middle of moving currently and may not be able to get my computer set up and running today to be able to install the software within 24 hours (required by the fine print). (I'm just checking up on email from my tablet before resuming the chores).
Is there a way to register the software separate from installation to still qualify? Or could I purchase it today, but not have the key built and sent until tomorrow? I'm _hoping_ to have the PC unpacked & setup up late tonight, but at worst it would be tomorrow sometime. (I can't guarantee an exact time so, again, I worry about missing the window). Please let me know what might be possible. (Either here or by direct email) Thank you!

shows, Basic, Regular and Advanced Individual (the $209 is Regular), and AND an Advisor Version. I was interested in the Advanced Individual which isnot an option from the buy page.

When you click through the buy option you only have choices of :

Which version do you want to use?
Individual Version
Advisor Version

So. . I'm kind of confused. . thanks anyway.

Doug Carey Choose the Individual version from the Signup page. You will then be taken to a screen where you can choose Individual- Advanced Version. You can also use your discount and pay on this screen.

Daniel Gaudet Are there any issues with using this in Canada or is this for US based planning? In Other words, is this made to work for individuals building their retirement plan using US based products, or can it be used with other products that might not be the same as in the US (for example: 401k vs RRSP, Tax Free Savings Account.)?

Also, if I don't get software support, how long is

Doug Carey Daniel- You would have to enter your own tax rates, but the software is used by people in Canada and many other countries. We offer full support over the phone and by email for the life of the license. If you find that the software does not meet your needs due to you being in Canada we will give you a refund within 30 days of purchase.

bob roos I tried to sign up for the trial of the individual version. The sign up screen told me that my phone number was not valid. It is a perfectly valid phone number.

If the website cannot tell a valid phone number, should I trust the other numbers that the program is supposed to be telling me?

If the phone number is supposed to be in a particular format then it should say right on the website what that format is. Better still is for the computer to be smart about the formatting of a phone number and remove all spaces, dashes and parens and then check the number for the expected length and content.

Doug Carey Quicken's retirement calculator is very basic, and therefore can be very inaccurate. They do not calculate tax rates for you based on current tax laws and they do not properly calculate social security, Required Minimum Distributions, and many other complex rules and regulations. They also do not have Monte Carlo analysis which calculates the probability of plan success.

Besides those issues, Quicken is not very flexible in terms of timing of various cash inflows and outflows. You get what you pay for with basic retirement calculators.
