What I was trying to say is that the differences between versions are important information, which users want to see easily, that's what is basic. How is Free different from Pro? Having to download and run a program is not the way to explain that.

1. The official page has not mentioned WinExt Pro.
2. This is only WinExt Free's official page.
3. For many users, the Free version is enough.
4. For some advanced users, it may be interested in the Pro version, and the features of Pro are marked with a key icon, if they need them, they will click the key icon, and WinExt Free will tell you all the professional features.

This is our design - let you enjoy the WinExt Free, for some reasons (even support us), you may want to get the Pro edition, so, do it on the UI.

Honestly, I've never seen any other vendor take such a relaxed approach, which may seem friendly to you but it doesn't to me. Please just list the differences here.

Jerry S With all due respect, not listing the differences between editions in your promotions or on your website is ridiculous. Demanding that I install the software to learn what else could be in it is not the way to persuade me that the product is even worth trying. And then demanding I give you my email address to get the list of feature differences is bizarre.

Just post the differences between versions here.

with respect, no one demanded giving email addresses and no one demanded you have to download the software to learn the differences, I find this approach refreshing, actually............. I WOULD find this approach refreshing however, after downloading the free version, I learned, the differences are so minor, they aren't even worth being listed. I then realized rather quickly that this is not a program for me, this program started AUTOMATICALLY doing things without me being in control, it starts searching all your hard drives AUTOMATICALLY which slows your computer to a crawl and it lasts a VERY LONG TIME, (how long? I couldn't tell you, I had to force close this program.) Meanwhile the program itself freezes while it searches and does god only knows what because you didn't tell it to do what it's doing. I see only bad things happening from using this program, there are several security warnings not to let it search your system drives because it could delete something important, therefore I wouldn't trust it's "duplicate finding technology" with any of my files.

Sorry, this is a pass for me.

But it will not automatically search your hard drives. Unless you click button (for Duplicates module, just for example).

And you can uncheck "Run it when PC boots" option to prevent it automatically runs.

Q1: WinExt fully includes the following our other products:
Duplicate File Finder Plus, File and Folder Lister, 1Tree Pro, Advanced Recent Access, Windows Explorer Tracker.

And added other two modules, and will be updated continuously.
Among them, File and Folder Lister is only a button in the "Batch Mode".

Q2: It's a good idea, we will add a switch for this.

Q3: Yes, supported to move to another PC if your current one is broken.

Constantin Florea @Michael Zimet, I am sorry about the confusion. Indeed, the giveaway license is a subscription based license and is valid for 1 year. The Fine Print tab has now been updated to reflect this. The rest of the licenses (the up-sells) are lifetime licenses with lifetime upgrades.

"Cannot connect to our server to check the new version. Please check the internet connection and try again."

There is no problem with my internet connection.

The prompt also has a sentence:

"Please note that if you get the Internet connection through a proxy server, you must set the proxy in Microsoft Web Browser."

So, please check if your Edge/IE can visit:

P.S. WE is developed by MS's language, so, use MS's Browser by default.

John User I don't know. I have licenses for other of your programs. For example, I have a 10 pc license for 1TreePro. I just checked that program and I was able to access TSS without a problem

I am using Avira security software and have never had a problem with blocking program installations, etc. from BDJ or other sites. This is the first time and as I said I have often downloaded and purchased other TSS programs without an issue.

So, please check Avira log, I think the reason is Avira suddenly blocks the registration URL. Or simply disable Avira first.

I just checked the giveaway license key, it works certainly, and no other user tell us there is a problem during registration.

One possible solution, if you are using a VPN, turn it off and see if that helps. I use a VPN and there are some pages that appear blank just as you describe but are fine once I reload with the VPN turned-off. Just a thought.

John User Yeah, while I appreciate customer support and jboy weighing in I am still unable to register. I actually uninstalled Avira to see if it was the problem - it wasn't. Also, I am not using a VPN.

While I have enjoyed purchasing licenses and using Tri Sun programs in the past (1TreePro, Duplicate File Finder Plus, Duplicate Photo Finder Plus and more) for multiple PCs, this one just isn't working for me somehow and I have uninstalled it.

Thanks for the opportunity to try.

PS. I went back to another TSS program, Duplicate Photo Finder Plus, and had no problem checking for an update. I went right to the webpage and downloaded it. But, no go for WinExt Pro.

Mario Trzes Dear Sirs,
Installed without problems, BUT the program starts, takes about 50 seconds to present the UI ( message Loading resources... please wait>>>), the UI appears and immediatelly hangs. Then, by itself, starts loading again, with same results.And this goes on a loop....
Uninstalled using Revo.
Any thoughts about the problem?

John Campbell Like others, I encountered issues. Could not download from the receipt page or from the link in the receipt. Went to their web site and through trial and error, found the right button to hit - use the Download button to the right of the monitor on their page Once downloaded and installed (it takes a while to load and says - Loading Resources...please wait>>>) select the Upgrade to Pro near the top of the UI and enter the registration info from your email receipt. Look forward to trying this out. Good Luck!

Mario Trzes Your suggestion of downloading from your company site did work, but the version is 13.
Although it takes about 75 seconds to load, and then another 50 seconds "not responding". it finally works.
So I'll have to wait these 2 minutes to be happy. Tested and it is VERY fast.
Just one question - what happens after the one year license is terminated? It goes back to the free version, or it continues as PRO but without any updates to newer versions?

Nunya User I've seen freeware, shareware, trial-ware and subscription software. And, there are probably others I'm not aware of. I like freeware, for obvious reasons. Trial-ware I steer clear of because it's useless after it stops working, but at least it's free for the length of the trial. With subscription software, you buy a license that's good for a specified time period and when that license expires, the software still works, you just can't update it until you buy another license.

You, on the other hand, are the lowest of the low. You not only call your trial-ware, subscription software, you expect us to PAY for it!!! And, as if that wasn't bad enough, then you try to force us to buy more trial-ware by disabling the software after the trial expires!!!!!! You are an untrustworthy, greedy, despicable company. You are the perfect example of how NOT to make and keep customers.

1. As the features list page shows:
The Free edition can also do hundreds of things, never expires, lifetime upgrades, for FREE.
And there are many users enjoy it.

"force us to buy": I think our company do this very friendly in the known "Free/Trial + Pro" mode software products as we know.
Many software ask you buy the Pro edition when Start, Exit, even Uninstall... or place a BIG purchase banner/button in a prominent position on the main interface (no any effect on actual functions), such as WinRAR, CCleaner, Wise Case, etc. In fact, as we know, all free + pro software products did these except ours. We never do this in our dozens of products. Only ask you if you try to use the feature that only in the Pro edition, if you do not use this, even don't know it needs to be paid, don't know there is a Pro edition. And as you see, on WinExt Free's main interface, there is only a "Upgrade to Pro" normal link, even not bold, and except "Buy", this is the only entry for inputting your license key.

I think it's the opposite.
We cannot tell you how many customers we have (this is a trade secret), but we can tell you we are doing the right way to prove that "We are the good example of how to make and keep customers", sure, not "perfect", because some companies did this better (we don't like to use this word - "perfect", so quote it from your sentence, because it is too subjective and arbitrary for software products).

I won't point out other product names here, but you maybe have encountered something like below on some famous software products (even developed by listed companies):
a. says one-time fee, but charges you yearly, says yearly subscription, but charges you monthly.
b. always starts automatically, and has not setting to disable it.
c. the size of the installer does not match the actual functions, many small desktop software installation programs exceed 10 MB or even 100 MB.
You may not be sensitive to this, but as a software company, we know what it means, so we generally don’t install such software, because 200 KB can write about 5,000 code lines, and it’s less than 200 KB after compiled and packaged. As you can see on our download page, many of our products are less than 1 MB, basically around 1~2 MB.
d. asks you buy when starting, exiting even uninstalling.
e. asks you why uninstall it by a desktop UI or a popup web page.
f. install other software.
g. Upgrades quietly without the user's consent.
h. cannot uninstall.

3. If you do have specific questions about our product, please email us or say it here. It is best to have a screenshot to specify the problem. We will help you as soon as possible (consider the different time zone).

4. You can comment at here prove that you trust BDJ, and we are BDJ's veteran partner for nearly 20 years.

Nunya User I think maybe you should read your own promotion. I go by what THIS BDJ promotion page says and the very first bullet in The Fine Print section, says:

"After you purchase WinExt Pro it may be used for 60 months and **will not function after that unless you renew your subscription**."

Your words, not mine. That makes it trial-ware. And, nowhere on this page does it say anything about a free version.

"Your words", no, In BDJ vendor-account, about the license, we CANNOT INPUT TEXT (except a license-related URL ), just can choose the item from the lists.

If you are interested in this, you can email us and we will send you the interface of BDJ vendor account.

So, for today's discounted selling (5 Years License), we can only select 60 months, and, OTHER WORDS ARE GENERATED BY BDJ SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY.

This has nothing to do with me. It's YOUR responsibility to make sure YOUR products are advertised correctly. It's not up to your CUSTOMERS to fix YOUR business problems for you.

I read on this page that your product ceases to function after 60 months. You claim it reverts to the free version, which is a travesty in itself, but if what you say it true, YOU need to contact BDJ and tell them THEY are advertising your product incorrectly and giving your company a bad reputation. That is not MY responsibility. Shame on you for even suggesting that I fix YOUR problems for you.

As for your "subscription" software, it's not. Once a product is PAID for, it doesn't change to something different later on. If I bought a hat because I liked the way it looked on me, I wouldn't expect it to change to a different shape six months later just because the designer wanted it to.

When I pay for actual subscription software, it works the same from day one until the day I stop using it. When the license expires, I can no longer update it, but the software continues to function the same way as the day I bought it. That's TRUE subscription software. What you offer is PAID TRIAL-WARE.

Even if this product reverts to a lighter version of the same software after a period of time and doesn't actually cease to function, it's STILL TRIAL-WARE and NOT subscription software because it no longer functions the same as what was paid for. I can't believe you can legally get away with this.

Eric B Nunya, I am not affiliated with Trisun, but felt I needed to point out that in the software industry:

a "subscription" generally is paid for a monthly or yearly basis (of with a "automatically recurring charge via credit card kept on file) and only allows you to use a product and all new releases during the time that the subscription is active.

a "perpetual" license generally is a one time payment that allows you to use the version of the software you purchased (and generally minor version upgrades) for as long as you want even after it is out of its "support lifetime"

a few companies offer a "lifetime license" in that once you purchase the software you can get all new release for as long as they are providing them. However, often times a "lifetime license" is an additional charge that you can purchase in conjunction with the software product.

in addition, most vendor now provide some sort of "upgrade assurance" or similar at an additional cost for a specific time period that allows you to update the software for all versions released while your "upgrade assurance" is in effect

For WinRAR, Since we have the registered version, so cannot show you the screenshot, but when EXIT WinRAR trial version, it will prompt to buy (may be current version does not do this, if so, ignore it).

For CC, if you have never seen these things, I think it’s either the fake CC you used, or the fake CC I used.

1. BIG prompt window just tell you the Pro expired, with BIG YELLOW BUY NOW button, Extremely conspicuous.

2. As you see, the left part of CC free shows the module links, and CC makes the Upgrade (in fact, guide you to pay money) as a module, and uses whole working area under this "MODULE" guide you to pay money, so, you say it's not BIG...

3. Made the Pay money BIG button AS AN OPTION

You said "I've never seen a BIG purchase banner/button in a prominent position on the main interface. I've never experienced any of the problems that you CLAIM, ALL free + pro software has, with these two programs."

So, where did you download CC?

Usually, do not need to reinstall it.

1. Check if it is running in the system tray and hidden.
2. Try to end the "WinExt.exe" process and then restart it.

If it's a one-year license, how will I be able to use it for 60 months?

Constantin Florea @Nunya User, I am sorry about the confusion. That was the license policy we used during the previous discounted deal we had for this product. I've fixed the license policy to reflect today's giveaway promotion.

So, this is actually a giveaway promotion for the 1 year license. During this giveaway we're up-selling the 5 years licenses of the product. Each of the purchase items titles contains the period (specified as years or months) that license is available for.
