LU As I am one who is looking for a product with a lifetime upgrade, I see you are advertising this as such. The Wondershare upgrade policy has always been a mystery to me. I have seen your site state that you offer lifetime updates for minor version upgrades and at other times, I have seen some of your sites state lifetime upgrades.

Can you please tell me if this software is offered with a lifetime upgrade for major and minor versions or is it a lifetime update for minor versions?

The following is your policy statement from this web page: http://support.wondershar...ow&id=4764

Q: What is your Upgrade Policy?

A: Being a registered user of one or more Wondershare products, you are entitled to a free copy of any minor updates to the products. Minor updates are those updates of which the first version number remains the same. For example, if you have purchased version 1.0.0 of the product, you will get all the further 1.x. x versions free.

A major upgrade is released with a significant amount of improvements and new features, and the first digit of the version number changes. For the major upgrades, you only need to pay a small upgrade fee to enjoy all the benefits of the new version.

Thank you very much for the clarification.

Preston Mitchell GREAT SOFTWARE...But TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...And DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. I bought several Wondershare software until I dealt with their terrible customer service & support. Granted, Wondershare software is very good quality...but they burnt me bad on a software purchase. I bought Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder Deluxe. Then Wondershare sent me an email offering additional theme packs for $30. I bought the theme packs and got nothing in return. When I complained to Wondershare, I was informed that the theme packs were already included in DVD Builder Deluxe....and there was nothing to send me...so, the additional packs were a scam...and no refund was offered....unreal! WITH WONDERSHARE, THE BUYER BE AWARE!

LU Thank you everyone for the comments and Bitsdujour for not deleting these posts.

I would think if single person or company would have a tremendous sale such as this, they would be available to offer customer support. Too bad for Wondershare.

Might have been a golden opportunity wasted to improve their image.

Nico Westerdale Preston, we regularly feature WonderShare products on BitsDuJour and I have not had any problems with them in the past. As your problem was about a different product I don't think it's totally relevant here, I don't know the details myself but our experience with working with Wondershare has always been good.

Nico Westerdale Hi "Lifetime Upgrades" - I know you're always asking the same questions (nice website by the way) but the answer to whether there are lifetime upgrades is listed under the "Policy" tab on the right. Sorry that Wondershare wasn't available to answer questions here, it does happen and I wouldn't read too much into it... discussion continues here:

Preston Mitchell REPLY TO NICO WESTERDALE:

As I am avid follower of Bits du Jour, I am aware that Wondershare software is periodically offered.

I would agree with your reply stating "(you) have not had any problems with them in the past" if you meant no problems with their software functioning as advertised....and I even said as much in my comment by proclaiming "Great Software". But when ordinary folks buy software, customer service is part of the deal. Therefore, commenting on a software company's customer service & technical support is relevant to ordinary software buyers.

When I buy software, I appreciate user reviewers reporting their experiences with customer service or tech support. (I ask you, Nico, if I had reported that Wondershare produced great software AND offered excellent customer service, would you have taken any issue with my remark about their customer service?)

I confess that extreme frustration with Wondershare customer service partly motivated my review...because Wondershare's customer service is so unresponsive that I hoped a company official might see my Bits comment and reply to it!

All I have gotten from Wondershare in response to my several `tickets' are polite `form' emails offering discounts for their other software but no replies actually addressing my issue presented. So, isn't it sad that I had to post a comment on Bits as a last resort to get Wondershare's attention! That sort of extreme indifference toward their ordinary customers is something worth mentioning to prospective buyers of ANY Wondershare software.

(If you have a good relationship with Wondershare, I invite you to ask a `responsive' company official to contact me--their customer who bought FIVE of their software--and actually address my issue.)

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,
Preston Mitchell

LU Well said Preston in a nice polite manner.

I too have written Wondershare on numerous occassions and have also wanted to purchase some of their software but did not receive a reply nor did I purchase it for that reason.

This is my last post on this issue at this page and I will refer from here on out to Nico's requested forum page:

Pele Thmosa It's a great software and I really like it. But I have a question about do I need to put the videos I make with wondershare Video Studio Express to iTunes and then sync to my iPad? Or I can put it into iPad directly?
