What are people saying about WOW Slider Unlimited Website License

Tazzie If this is an Unlimited Website License, then there seems to be a conflict with the policy section on this page, which states that it is "Licensed per website domain." Would appreciate some clarification here. Thanks!

Jason Howard According to the WOW website - the $69 package is for unlimited website domains.

Andrew Griffiths BitsduJour "policy" for this product is poorly written and I surmise from "Licensed per website domain, not allowing transfer of a license to another owned computer" that it is incorrect. If the license is for a website, then transferring it to "another computer" is nonsensical.

The free updates for 12 months seems good given that this product was only released in Decemebr and there are several updates in 4 months.

However, I would like to see more businesss based demos - particularly as you're not going to be buying this product for non-commercial use.I'd also like to see ability to add URLS within image.

Constantin Florea @Tazzie
The general license type for WOWSlider is per Domain, so for the "WOW Slider Single Website License" you need to specify your domain name however the "Unlimited Domains" license allows you to use the slider on any domains you own or design.

Ernest McDermon I just purchased the deal for the WOW Slider, the purchase went as expected but it takes Plimus about 2 minutes to process the credit card online (be patient). I was able to get the license key and download link by clicking on a link that appeared to get the order details.

Download worked fine, unzipped the .exe file and installation into Windows 7 64-bit Pro went smoothly. Registration worked fine, after registration the WOW Slider app shows at the top "Unlimited website domains license". The app appears to be fairly intuitive to use, I use a lot of jQuery so anything that will give me more effects is probably worthwhile at the special price.

@Andrew, a webserver is also a "computer" so it's not nonsensical for the license to specify whether it's allowed to be transfered as the license is per domain. As Constantin notes:

The general license type for WOWSlider is per Domain, so for the "WOW Slider Single Website License" you need to specify your domain name however the "Unlimited Domains" license allows you to use the slider on any domains you own or design.

Henrik Safegaard I am still confused.

The version on their homesite for single websites is prised at 49 Usd and the unlimited websites at 69 Usd -
The retail price above is 69 Usd so it must be the unlimited Websites version or am i missing something?

Stephane M Hi,
In the "Publish" options, are you planning to generate module for Joomla 1.6 soon?
And are you planning to give the possibility to choose between Joomla 1.5 and 1.6?
Thanks.

Scars Finn I am ready to buy, but the order page has the following "Additional complementary items." But the WOW website does not provide information on these extras. Nico, do you know what these extra products are about or where the developer provides information? I couldn't find anything on the Wow site.

Visual Slideshow - VisualSlideShow.com: Awesome Web SlideShow! 75% OFF! $17.24

Video LightBox - VideoLightBox.com: Add Video to Your Website! 70% OFF Unlim.Lic! $20.69

VisualLightBox - VisualLightBox.com : Beautiful Web Gallery Maker : 60% OFF Unlim.Sites License!

I believe they are just partner products Scars. You can follow the url for each item if you want it, if not just don't choose the extras.

Nabil B Where do you activate the product? I did not receive a key, but I was able to retrieve it from Plimus (the order processor). I cannot find anywhere on the program to activate it. Also the Kenburns controls are lacking and the results are very choppy.

Nabil B Hi, I posted above and contacted support at two different e-mail addresses with no response. Usually I have had good luck with BitsDuJour, however I am not sure this time. Please respond, and please in the future only work with people that offer support.
What do I do now. I have bought this program and I cannot activate it?

Nabil B I just received an e-mail from support. Please disregard above post. Thank you.
However activation instructions should be very clear and should not require contacting support.

snarky7d Already bought this a while ago. Great program for creating jQuery Sliders...

Can get done in this program in minutes what takes hours by hand coding.

License is worth it to remove their watermark versus the FREE version. Otherwise FREE and Paid are same program. Just my 2cents.

Preston Mitchell REQUEST for DEVELOPER

I was so impressed by Video Lightbox that I also bought Visual Lightbox, WOW Slider, Visual Slideshow, and CU3OX.

Yes, I bought all 5 of your software. BUT I am disppointed that Visual Lightbox lacks a certain feature.

Milkbox calls itself an "Expanded lightbox for Mootools 1.3"--and the FREE Milkbox offers SWF support! http://reghellin.com/milkbox

Yes, a SWF file can be added to a Milkbox lightbox gallery...which brings in Flash Animation...or PDF files converted to SWF with Adobe FlashPaper.

If Visual Lightbox could play Acrobat PDFs as converted SWF files, that would open up an amazing amount of commercial possibilities for Visual Lightbox.

It would be awesome if Visual Lightbox could support SWF like Milkbox does. That is my request.

Preston Mitchell To Ian -- IF...

If WebPlus allows you to import & embed html code generated by WOW Slider, then you should have no problem with integration.

David Thomson This may be a dumb question, but is the Slider compatible with WordPress?
Sep 19 2011 at 7:27am Copy Link
0
Preston Mitchell To David -- Yes...though...

A WOW slideshow is 'compatible' with WordPress (although it would be more accurate to says that a WOW slideshow can be easily embedded in a WordPress web site). Though if you had any difficulties, the problem would probably not be with WordPress itself but with a particular theme that may have chosen. Some 3rd party themes or frameworks could 'resist' incorporating 'foreign' elements but such cases are uncommon.

Overall, after much research and experimentation with several other so-called EZ slideshow software, I found that WOW Slider and its brethen (Video Lightbox, Visual Lightbox, etc) were indeed the easiest and most effective way for a non-coder to add an attractive image slideshow or video player to a web site. PLUS, the code generated by WOW Slider is clean and compliant with web standards.

Under policy it says "Licensed per website domain."
On the order side it says (WOW Slider for Win) Unlimited Websites

How I am supposed to understand this?

Preston Mitchell Where is the Developer of WOW?

How lame that a Developer does not appear at his own offering on Bits!

Bare Prat This is kind of disappointing - from the developer of the program:
No response to crucial questions.

But also, I must confess - confusion about the roll of the BdJ
I thought BdJ implied some kind of safeguarding and claims versus the developer.
Obviously I have missed something here - or?

Roger Thomasson @ Eli

We've been very, very clear about this over the years -- developers are in no way required to participate in the BDJ conversation if they don't want to.

Every vendor has dedicated support and communication channels established that you are more than welcome to utilize. We're not going to force them to monitor ours on top of slashing the price of their product.

The roll of BDJ?

We get you the discount and guarantee that the software and support is the same as what you'd get were you paying full price.
