XMIND is a productivity tool that facilitates high-level brainstorming and mind-mapping endeavors. It enables users to work through and capture their thoughts in a visual, detailed, hierarchical manner.
The software is indispensable for organizing and implementing meetings or presentations, and can be a valuable tool in any project requiring complex information management.
Every piece of information in XMIND can be incorporated and positioned via any of 6 basic structures: mind maps, logic charts, org charts, tree charts, 2D charts and fishbone charts. Moreover, each branch in a map can be represented by any one of these organizational structures. XMIND offers outstanding flexibility!
With a clear interface and the ability to quickly scale, partition, and focus each information map, XMIND is especially well-suited for group brainstorming. Team members working together can navigate to and focus on any topic, and append related ideas that may arise.
XMIND can also be utilized as a 'project container'. You can save any and all of your projects in a central workbook, append external data or documents to your maps as attachments, or refer to websites using hyperlinks.
Today more than ever, people's lives revolve around information: locating it, retrieving it, collating it, analyzing it, and generating it. With XMIND at your fingertips, you'll get more out of your information than ever before!

Testimonials
- Gallery: In the Gallery View, images can be added to a map by simple double click or drag-drop into topics. XMIND comes bundled with hundreds of high-quality, context appropriate images.
- Floating Topics: Floating topics are not attached to any other topic and are free to relocate anywhere within a map. These are ideal for retaining wild ideas or starting new threads of thought.
- Themes: XMIND themes are collections of colors, shapes, line patterns and other coordinated attributes. Users can choose from a variety of pre-designed themes and apply them to their maps in one easy step. In addition, XMIND can extract a theme from a current map and retain it for later use.
- Labels: Labels are small tags that stick on topics, and are typically used for simple annotation, categorizing, searching, and filtering. A topic may have multiple labels separated by commas.
- Export: XMIND is seamlessly integrated with a wide range of third-party applications. Users have a free choice to export maps into a variety of formats, e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, PDF, RTF, and numerous image types.
- Drilldown & Drillup: Drilldown enables users to focus in on a specific branch. The focused branch will be displayed as the central branch in the map. Users can then modify the details of this branch and go back to the former level by a simple click.
- Rich Text Notes: Users can add additional information, insert images for illustration, or change the appearance of the text.
- Attachments: External files can be attached to a topic as its subtopics or on the map as floating topics. These attachments can be renamed, moved, deleted just the same as other topics. Users can change these attachments' color, shape, line patterns, etc., and even add subtopics or more attachments to them.
- Audio Notes: Users can now record voice information in XMIND. Simply select a topic and click the record button. The resulting recording will be automatically saved as an attachment. Users can then play that audio notes directly and/or save it as an external '.mp3' file for independent distribution.
- Hyperlinks: Hyperlinks can be used to connect to websites, folders, or files such as Excel or PDF documents. Users can open a hyperlink by simply ALT-clicking.
- Presentation Mode: In presentation mode, the whole map is projected to cover the full screen. Keyboard shortcuts help to navigate between topics and collapse/expand branches, and the entire map floats smoothly to keep the focused topic in the center of screen. A user can add/delete/modify topics, zoom in/out, filter, or even record audio notes while in presentation mode.
- Map Shot: Take a snapshot of a specific region of a map and paste it to the clipboard by a drag-drop and a double click. It's easy with Map Shot to share either the whole or a part of the map remotely in seconds.

- Review what others have to say...
- “I'm almost ready to trade up from MindManager... XMind provides a very comprehensive set of features, including nested tables...and a very usable drill-down feature.”
- “I may have to crack open the wallet on this...You can brainstorm with mind maps, concept maps, fishbone diagrams and more. The website is very complete with information, support and the help file seems quite thorough. What's more, there are tutorials to get started (even though I don't think you need them, honestly). This will break my budget, but it will be worth it.”
- “I've been noodling around with XMIND for a couple of hours and I am very impressed. Someone earlier asked about the advantage over Freemind: I would cite an overall abundance of features, additional views, and (to me) a better handling of notes. I think Freemind is a terrific app, don't get me wrong, but I can well see the added value of XMIND.”
