Purchased YeetDL. Fine, but a HUGE annoying problem arises. Something you don't immediately come to expect from a downloader that wants to count itself among the top.

YeetDL will not download videos with an age check and within the program there is no possibility to log in (and -optional- save login information)? I hope to be wrong (with 30+ years of high-end IT behind me, this would be a surprise), but where are these settings to be found?

Other points after a few minutes of testing:

- No way to minimalize the program UI-wise to taskbar/systemtray?

- The Dutch language may also be revised ;)

Hope the dev can do something with this, but above all the former should nestle immediately in the roadmap and soon truth within the changelog. So long there are DL's who have understood.

Allow me to reply by topics:

- Minimizing the UI: A minimize button will be added to the application in the next update, which should occur in the next few days.

- Dutch language: Definitely, all translations will be improved in the near-future.

- Age Restricted videos: This is something we're already working on. It will be possible for users to login their YouTube account not only to download age restricted and/or private videos, but also to manage and auto-download videos from channels you're subscribed to.

One last not-done point: the system keeps giving notifications (even after an hour) here about a copied URL ...in 2 different dialog boxes? This is not exactly a privacy option now do we think?

In short, back to the drawing board. There is still a lot of work to be done, I'm afraid....

Techfixes Aren't most of these programs a shell for youtube-dl.exe ?

Start Menu --> type CMD --> cd \downloads --> youtube-dl.exe

What could be simpler than that?

Robert Crombie My main desktop is XP. I have a w 8.1 desktop that I would install this into. Just fired it up and it won't boot (get lighs/fan for 2 seconds, and stops. Keeps doing that). If I purchases license today, can I install it later when I manage to get another PC working ?

peter anon 1) do I have to give the app my youtube login details?

2) can it copy with streaming files off youtube? normally they are solid mp4s, but sometimes I have seen multiple small files, like they are RTMP. Hope you know what I mean?

Thank you for your message.

YeetDL does not require ANY login details to be entered into the app.

As for streaming files, I assume you're referring to YouTube Live Streams (please correct me if I'm wrong). YouTube Live Streams are downloaded just like any other videos. You can select whether you want them in MP4, AVI, WebM and a few more formats. You will NOT get any RTMP files.

L. D. User In the image above it shows one of the videos at 0% but with the word "rec" to the left of it.

So does that mean that it can also record (download) "live" streaming Youtube etc. videos as well as uploaded, pre-recorded videos?

As it doesn't state having this feature, although many other video downloading programs can record/download "live" strreaming videos from YouTube and numerous other sites easily without any problem.

I know this as I use that feature on a regular basis with three other well known video downloading programs and all three of those programs record/download live streaming videos from YouTube at least, absolutely perfectly!

If this program doesn't have this feature though then shouldn't it say downloading next to each video that hasn't finished downloading yet instaed of "rec"?

Just curious, that's all.

John User At the moment I use a software called YTD which says unlimited download. I'm with Virgin Media (FO) supposed to be 150mps but the download speed of the YTD is in the KPS... ridicules. Yes it's the Pro version.

Gary Mugford I use a competitor of yours but thought to myself, I'm about to change accommodations and it might be a good idea to get a fresh set of software in case things go slightly haywire in the changeover.. I even bought the multi-device version since retirement money is meant to be spent to the last dime with my last dying breath. But here we are with the same old, same old. There is no email with the registration key. Why oh why do I have to go through support??? Are you selling me a product OR are you selling me a subscription????

BlackOpz VERY Fast Downloading of YTube. Transcoding is SLOW but compresses files by about 40% - Nice!! If you have a newer multi-thread PC is def a decent background option even though my CPU % goes into 60%+ (doesnt slow my AMD 3900x). So far, so good.

Gary Mugford Jason, THANK YOU AND MY APOLOGIES. You did send the key and I was able to install my PREMIUM service. And no BlackOpz User, it was not in the spam folder, but I appreciate you taking the time to ensure I DID look there.

I admit that I am a LITTLE confused as to how a product that is straightforward, has a 'support' program. I guess I'm a little stuck in older times when a product that does a job, should do the job no questions asked. If, indeed, YeetDL is doing all the downloading and/or coding work, I can see why they'd need continued financial support for the bandwidth if nothing else. But if my computer and my bandwidth is being used to download the video and code it, then I'm unsure as to how YeetDL has a yearly billing plan. It doesn't matter to me much, since I bought a 'lifetime' plan. But I was a bit befuddled initially. My fault. So, one last apology and I'm done with this matter.

Upon checking with other Antivirus or Anti-Malware scanners, no Malware was detected. So I have used the Installer and Installed this product. Who is the guarantor for free upgrades / updates? I was reading The Fine Print here ("Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product"), but I don't know, if info is by BitsDuJour.com, YeetDL developer, or both. John User This is a great program and I want it on all my computers. But they need to get the license straight. First off, get someone with command of proper English Composition to proof read "The Fine Print" The license terms make no logical sense. Take the time to proof read what you write.

I Purchased this the first time with a license for 2 computers. I was never able to get it to install on the second computer. A year later I just bought a single license from BDJ for the second computer. Now I come by BDJ to purchase a license for a 3rd computer and the license terms are now for single user, one computer. It should be one or the other. If single user I should be able to install it on all my computers or at least desktop and laptop.

I just assume it is a single use license for one computer because I doubt the developer has the ability to manage long term licensing because of their inability to even properly define their license.

At this point I will put off the 3rd purchase, Maybe I will come back to it this evening and purchase if BDJ and the dev can figure out what the license is.

I agree with you - licencing info is a dog's breakfast!

YeetDL Lifetime License is licensed per user, so if more people are going to use YeetDL Lifetime License you will need to purchase additional copies.
Each license allows installation on 1 computer.
Transfer of a license to another owned computer is allowed.

I believe, however, this is specifically written for single device users, not multi-device users.

As i recall - a multi-device licence can be used on 3 devices as per their customer support. I have a multi-device licence & have the program installed on 2 laptops, no problem.

John User This is a very good program and will download the original resolution and frame rate; 4K 120FPS and such. Can also edit short clips before downloading.

Consider this a single computer license but is cheap enough to purchase for each computer.

I just downloaded the setup.exe again from here, and same problem.
I use W8.1 32bit
I suspect this can only install into 64bit Windows
But I cannot find any mention of that in the 'requirements' listed here, and on their site.

NRL I got the premium version for 3 computers. We, my son and I, cannot activate the free software to the premium version. We put the code in then we get a popup saying "YeetDL needs to run in elevated mode in order to activate your license. After it restarts, please try to activate yourkey again". We press Ok and it restarts and we try again and the same thing happens over and over.

It keeps looping and looping and not activating the software.

How do we activate to the premium version?
