Zoner Software Hello Mr. Brogan,

Zoner, Inc. makes photo software, and makes its living by selling that software. Because of this we would have nothing to gain and everything to lose by shipping malware with our product, and because of that, we don’t do so. There must be a misunderstanding somewhere - something else installed around the same time as Zoner Photo Studio, for example.

We regret to hear about the bad experience all the same!

Scott Youngman @ Harry Brogan. I have installed several versions of Zoner Photo Studio over the past years, and have never had any malware or other problems. It is an excellent photo management program.

Software Babe I have also never had a bad experience with this software and highly recommend it. Sometimes, web pages has Google Analytics and other 'advertising' and 'shopper' type scripts and code inside its web pages, which could be the web designer/coder and/or hosting service doing this. However, if you give a web site your email address, that could also be picked up by outside servers as well, who scan servers who are not secured.

So, this may not be the fault of the software vendor. However, SOME sw vendors do package adware in their software and then THAT adware may have OTHER adware and/or malware embedded.

I would highly suggest you get the freeware version of Peerblocker, which is NOT just for P2P servers, but for ANY IPs that want to infiltrate your PC through the HTML (8080) port or other ports that may be open. Adware/malware also comes in thru various other ports, such as your email port (incoming/outgoing).

I am a SW Engineer AND a Web Designer, so I can tell you that there IS more than one way adware/malware can slam your PC other than just through installation of software.

Andy_energy_ONE can i install the software some days/weeks later after the giveaway day?
I only downloaded the software and i had no time to install it on the same day.

Can i reinstall the software if windows becomes unbootable (on a new windows installation) ?

Katalin Csángó The program can activate with e-mail. And once it is activated, you can install and reinstall it on any computer.
- therefore it is very convenient, I hope it will not change that.
You get from time to time e-mails with practical advice from photography, which are quite interesting. Malware, I have not yet discovered.

Zoner Software Hello @Scott Youngman - I am and we at Zoner Software are specialists in our software, but no so much in the texts on Bits du Jour. My statement simply described, in a practical sense, the behavior of the ZPS16 installer file that was offered here - it simply doesn't work when not run on the Giveaway day. If there's boilerplate fine print on BdJ that contradicts that, then it will certainly be good to know and tell them to remove it on our next Giveaway, as it will be false. I don't see the mentioned text on a Ctrl+F of this particular page - where does it reside?

There is indeed a discrepancy between BdJ's description and the true conditions. The seventh bullet point on the _Fine Print_ tab on this page says "You can install/register the software at any time" whereas in actuality the software may be installed only on the day of the offer. That should be corrected for future giveaways on BdJ.
