Rob Nolan The only things that bother me about this entire Cloud business are:
- What happens if the site gets hacked?
- What happens if the host goes out of business?
- Data gets corrupted or file servers crash?
Sorry, but just do not trust my data out 'there' in someone else's hands.
HDDs are pretty cheap anyway.

For those who are disappointed. I know this is not place for publicity but seeing that people from different countries can`t afford the same possibilities I must mention if you buy an Asus laptop, you can get 1TB for free not for life but for 100 years. So if you live from now 101 years you must choose Zoolz.

Anyway for web storage I would like to use not confidential files only those I would like to share with the world. But for this purpose this is a good tool.

Justine Jordan It is definitely available in the USA.

The free offer is for cold storage only and in order to use cold storage, you must download their app.

Pros-free storage space

Cons-an app that must have a back-up schedule. I prefer to upload files whenever I like, use drag and drop in a browser, and general flexibility.

Good cloud storage sites will give you notice if they are going to close, along with time and opportunity to retrieve your files.

I only use cloud storage for the types of files I am not concerned with anyone seeing. It's just an added storage measure in case of hard drive failure.

It's probably very convenient for people on the go who may run out of space on their portable storage devices, by giving them a way to free up space. Also, for people who need to share files for collaboration.

This particular cold storage would not be useful for the purposes above since it is computer specific, unless you are using a laptop and have a fast connection.

I was considering Zoolz cloud 2 TB as offered somewhere else, but now I know they are not a decent option, so I'll look elsewhere.

Rob User OK a little cofused here.

I am sure Zoolz usually offers an Instant Vault and a Cold Storage deal on their storage options.
So reading the upsell for the 1TB deal you get 500Gb Instant Vault (Instant Access to your files) and 500Gb Cold Storage (not instant access to your files)

There is no indication for the higher storage options.

So how does it work for the 2TB and 3TB options?

I am guessing the 2TB gives you 1TB Instant and 1TB Cold storage?

The 3TB gives you 1.5TB Instant and 1.5TB Cold storage?

Just want to be sure of what's on offer here as it doesn't specify here or in the billing section.

Unless I am missing something really obvious?

Serious Noize Thank you for this offer! I got the 100GB free offer. I wanted to ask a couple of questions.

It appears that you have to use the Zoolz software to use the service. Since this free 100GB offer does not support free updates. With future updates to the software, will this giveaway version eventually become obsolete and leave you without access to your stored files? Or will it continue to work regardless of how many times future updates happen?

My concern is if you upload a lot of data to Zoolz and end up being required to purchase an upgrade or update the software to access your stored data.

Also, will the software automatically update, or eventually have a required automatic update?

The pricing seems like a fair price and I may consider purchasing more storage space in the future.

By subscribing to this 100 GB free offer, you will be using the Zoolz desktop software to upload your data, and you will get all the updates to this software whenever there is any. So, it will never become obsolete, unless your OS is not of the supported ones anymore.

What you will be paying for is the upgrade from 100 GB to any higher plan.

As for the software update; yes, it happens automatically.

"Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key".

Does this mean when the software automatically updates, it will invalidate the free license and require you to pay to access and retrieve your data?

We assure you that updating the Zoolz desktop software does not cost any additional fees. Only upgrading the storage does.

Also, updating the Zoolz desktop software will not invalidate the free license and require you to pay to access and retrieve your data.

Serious Noize Thank you Zoolz for the quick reply and response to my questions. I currently have installed the software and am sending some files for backup. I really like all the options on backing things up. I have been using One Drive on Windows 10 and the issue I have with One Drive is it always wants to upload everything as soon as you add something, meaning if it's a big file your PC is going to slow down until it's done.

I see that Zoolz has many options in the uploading category, scheduling or you can manually select to upload the files or auto upload like One Drive, I really like that!

That just makes so much sense. I wanted to say Thank you for your quick responses and information. I'm going to give this a try and if all goes well after using it for a while I honestly may purchase a better package in the future. These promo's make a big difference to people like me.
