What are people saying about 1-Click Duplicate Delete for Outlook

David Vaughan I am also interest in purchasing your "Easy2Sync for Outlook" product. If I purchase "1-Click Duplicate Delete for Outlook" will there be a discount for the other Outlook product? Or, perhaps you plan a future BitsDuJour special for Easy2Sync for Outlook? Your website offers discounts when bundling "Outlook" products with "File" products however, I don't have much need for the File products.

Thanks, ~Dave

Rich OBrien I paid $19.95 to buy 1-Click Duplicate Delete today through the special Bits du Jour offer. 100% of the time it finds hundreds of duplicates and just before it finishes, it blows up Outlook. I restart Outlook and Outlook announces Inbox.pst was not closed correctly so it has to be checked for problems. That takes 20 minutes. When it finishes, I run 1-Click Duplicate Delete again. Outlook blows up. I restart Outlook and Outlook announces Inbox.pst was not closed correctly so it has to be checked for problems. That takes 20 more minutes. This is not fun. I'm going to ask for a refund. 1-Click Duplicate Delete finds duplicates that are ignored by Duplicate Email Remover by MAPILab. Unfortunately, 1-Click Duplicate Delete is of no value if it blow up Outlook just before it accomplishes anything. Duplicate Email Remover by MAPILab is too conversative. I can see loads of duplicates after it runs. However the MAPILab product did remove 2,304 duplicates today before I ran 1-Click Duplicate Delete.

David Vaughan Hey Rich, that doesn't sound good! I think the company is based in Germany so we may not hear from them for a few more hours. I wish I could find a user forum for them. That would make it easy to determine if yours is a common problem!

Rich OBrien After it found and deleted more than 1,700 duplicate emails, I decided to see what would happen if I ran 1-Click Duplicate Delete on the same folder full of more than 8,000 emails. It found 389 near duplicates and displayed them in sets some of which contained five or more near duplicates. I have dreamed of software that would offer this feature. Unfortunately, Outlook blew up on the first try, but after taking about 20 minutes to fix the pst file, I was able to have 1-Click Duplicate Delete try again and on the second try it found and deleted 559 near duplicates. 1-Click Duplicate Delete is definitely worth $19.95. They need to work on it to make it more robust. But I like it.

David Vaughan Thanks Rich, they will probably want to know some details about your computer: Version of Windows, 32 or 64 bit, version of Outlook, size of pst, etc.
Jun 19 2011 at 8:30pm Copy Link
Rich OBrien Microsoft Outlook 2003
Windows 7 Ultimate
32 -bit
Folder size 8,000 emails
Outlook pst file size 5.4 Gigabytes
This is the problem. This pst file is more than twice the size it was when I last looked at it.
I'm trying to delete all the duplicates to reduce this size.
I'm running MAPILabs Duplicate Email Remover right now to find and delete thousands of duplicates. D.E.R. is just getting started and it has already deleted more than 8,000 duplicates. I haven't run this pst file for way too long.
Next I will sort the emails in each folder by sender and delete many of the oldest emails.
Finally I will divide this Outlook pst file into three pst files of 1.8 Gigabytes or less.
Once I've done all of the above, I expect 1-Click Duplicate Delete for Outlook will not blow up Outlook.

Thomas Holz Hi David, Hi Brian,

thanks for your comments. David is of course right, we're located in Germany. I checked for comments last night (quite late) and there was nothing. And now on Monday morning, there are *plenty* to reply to... ;-)

Let's see.

@David: There's no "official" bundle for this. But if you contact me (, I'll send you a 25% discount code for Easy2Sync.

@Rich: I'll have a look at the crash and try to reproduce it here. But so far the problem has worked and that makes it of course difficult to fix anything.

@Rich: The pst file is a strange thing. Deleting anything won't make the file smaller until you "compress" it. To do that, right-click the topmost item in the Outlook folder tree (Often "Personal folder file"), select "properties", select "advanced" and click on the "compress" button.

If you have any other questions, simply post them here or contact me via the website I wrote a few lines before.
