What are people saying about 20 Handwriting Fonts

Steve Newport Hello,

these look great. Will you also offer a discount for the 38 fonts?

Can I "upgrade" to the 38 if I buy the 20 fonts?

Thanks

Martin Kotulla Steve, thank you for your interest.

Right now, we are just offering the 20 Handwriting Fonts via Iconico. But there is always a possibility to offer more packages.

Yes, we do offer upgrades from the 20 to the 38 fonts for the price difference between the "regular" price of the 20 fonts and the regular price of the 38 fonts.

Steve Newport Hello Martin,

thank you for your answer.

Do I have to decide to upgrade to 38 fonts at the day of the offer here, within a specific time range (6 month for example) or can I upgrade whenever I want = unlimited?

Bob S Hello - I think you'll get many more takers (and more $$) if you offer the 38- and 52-font families at similar discounts. The larger packages contain a number of very useful fonts that are not in the 20-font package.

Jim McGowan Wow! Martin, do these actually render as shown? With the letters connected like cursive writing?

If so I will purchase them immediately.

Thank you.

There is no deadline for upgrading to the larger packages, but the offer may be discontinued at a later ( 6 months ) time.

Martin Kotulla @Mitch:

We have not tested them on the Mac (because we also offer some packages specifically for the Mac), but they should work on Mac OS X. They will NOT work on Mac OS 9.

Martin Kotulla Curt:

Even 20 handwriting fonts is a significant collection because most "free" font collections do not contain any handwriting fonts of decent quality.

But, yes, we offer upgrades from the 20 fonts to the 52 fonts package for the difference in SRP (79.95 - 24.95 = 55 Euros).

Martin Kotulla @Bob:

Let's see how this offer works, and maybe we will offer the larger collections at a later time.

But remember that even 20 handwriting fonts is quite a collection because these are not some free or shareware fonts, but high-quality typefaces.

Martin Kotulla Curt, what a coincidence! An existing SoftMaker Office user who also happens to check out Iconico's offers ... :-)

We have given handwriting fonts to a select group of Office customers as a Christmas gift, and you were among them. That means you don't have use for another paid handwriting collection.

Have you already paid for the handwriting fonts offered through Iconico? If yes, we will reimburse the EUR 9.99. If not, then do not transfer payment for the Handwriting Fonts. We will cancel that part of your order.

If there are any additional questions regarding this, I suggest you contact us at infosoftmaker.de --- I assure you it is not our business model to trick anyone into anything.

Jim McGowan I purchased this exact set here back in December 2009. I think they were $9.99 then.

Very nice set of handwritten fonts IMO! I can't say I use all of them but I have used a number of them over the last few years. At $0.00 they are a steal.

I am certain that any problems will be addressed satisfactorily by Martin; he has never let me down.

Thank you.

JMJ Squared Providing an email address is no big deal and only fair since it costs MONEY for BDJ and the Developer to give us this for free. Use a special email address just for freebies, if you are concerned about... anything! :)

adamsdaddy Downloaded and installed. Thank you! Just be patient with their registration process and server download speed. It must be a bit overwhelmed today. Unzip the fonts and then (under Windows 8) login under Admin, Settings, Fonts, copy and paste the "unzip" fonts into the font folder. That's it.

It doesn't work if you forget to unzip them first. Don't use the Windows default of unzipping to the same folder - rename it to something else.

JMJ Squared SoftMaker appears to be a first-rate Company and BDJ is the cat's pajamas. However, though appreciative, I find today's freebie to be underwhelming. More-or-less identical fonts are very, very easily found for free all over the Internet. There are several highly regarded sites that sell their entire collections of 10,000 fonts for as little as USD 19.99.

After all of today's drama, the best thing I take away is the idea of temporarily installing fonts, which can be done with the free-for-personal use AMP Font Viewer.

Martin Kotulla JMJ Squared, large collections of fonts that have been mainly cobbled together from shareware sources can of course be found on the Internet.

However, this collection contains beautiful handwriting fonts that can even be used in advertising because "they work". And such handwriting fonts that look harmonious are not so easy to find on the web.

If you want to see our fonts as they are used by graphics designers, have a look at these:

Ron Cavin Where are the fonts? I clicked the 'get it now" button, was taken to the Softmaker order pages, completed the order information, got an email acknowledgment, but no mention of where the fonts are or how to get them, just a receipt for my order.
This has taken all morning and I'm becoming more than a little discouraged at the process, and getting no results.

JMJ Squared @Ron Cavin - You should receive a total of three emails, the last of which has a link to the ZIP file containing the fonts. In Windows, after un-zipping you can:
1. Double-click each font to install it individually to C:\Windows\FONTS ; -OR-
2. Copy & Paste each/all Fonts to that same folder.

Bjondc Well, I for one am happy to have this assortment at such a very attractive price! My design needs are modest but it is nice to have something a little different & informal at times, e.g. cards, newsletters, fliers. I've also gotten several of the free monthly fonts from their site.

Harry Stadman I for one am happy they solved the problem and thanks goes to Softmaker and BDJ for making this possible. Even i have a huge collection of fonts, new ones are allways welcome and believe me, the right font for your design is very important!

I especially like the stone handwriting font.
I am allready eyeballing your complete collection...

Hey, you can never have enough fonts,LOL.

@JMJ Squared

Since i have such a huge collection i can tell you that most fonts have derivatives and look alikes but are still slightly different and this can still mean it's the right font for your design or not.

Harry Stadman Well, let me tell you that for professional use famous complete collections can set you back easally 6000-8000 euro's/dollars per font foundry, like Adobe, linotype platinum collection etc. To name a few.
Have a look at these prices:
http://www.linotype.com/1...ction.html

I for one am very pleased to get a collection of free handwriting fonts wich contains at least 4 very usable fonts.

If you buy some software like Office suite you also get a collection of fonts for free.
For most this is enough.
Of course not for me but i am not the regular Joe.

The problem with free fonts is that they often don't contain full caracter sets!

These have all full caracter sets and are free, nothing much to complain about, i think.

Here you can get a free font every month from softmakers:

Matt Wills One question:

Why do you specify it as for PC only? TrueType fonts work just as well on a Mac as they do on Winduhs.

There are probably a considerable number of Mac users who could make use of this, but not knowing, they don't bother. And, by the way, I had absolutely no problem downloading.

Harry Stadman It gets even better since in the zipfile there are 2 folders!
one is truetype and the other one opentype.

Opentype is per definition cross platform and should run without any problems on a MAC!
