Good program of it's type. The updates appear to be inconsistent and it's a pity the most expensive version was the only one offered this time around. The other versions would have been quite suitable for me. I don't require the Deluxe version though should you offer one of the other versions at a later date on BDJ I'll be happy to purchase.

Stefan Hauber Is it possible (with the Deluxe-Edition and it's automatic face-recognition) let FantaMorph automatically get a webcam's picture, do a predefined morph or effect on it and save it back, e.g. into a predefined file?

Instead of a webcam the source could also be a file (which is updated permanently).

Louis H I want to highly recommend this program to anyone who has any interest in morphing images. It is fun... a LOT of fun! But even more so, it will meet your morphing needs whether you are a novice or advanced in your morphing skills. This is a very nice discount for the Deluxe version. The program allows for a lot of control over your morphs and I encourage all to give it a test run. I have four such programs and this is the only one I now use.

Robert R I have several questions: 1.  Can one "control" the degree to which various elements of one image appear in the morphed image?  For example, could I choose to have a feature (like the ears) from image B dominate in the morphed image C?  What setting or feature in FantaMorph is used to accomplish this? 2.  Can one combine multiple images?  e.g., from a photo of A, combine the ears from B; the nose from C; into the morphed image D? 3.  Can the final morphed image be saved as a sketch? 4.  Finally, do the images that are being combined need to be the same size?
Aug 10 2010 at 9:39am Copy Link

Jerry Xie To Robert R:
1. Learn more about "How to Morph Only Portions of An Image" at http://www.fantamorph.com...ortion.htm.
2. No, FantaMorph is not designed for this. One of our future products is dedicated for this.
3. I'm not sure what you mean "be saved as a sketch", you can save any morphed image to bmp, jpg, gif, png, etc.
4. No, the source images don't need to be the same size.

Robert R Tried to morph a couple of photos - spent about 10 mins.  Never did get the hang of it.  This may require more time and effort than you would think.  Re: my questions above, haven't heard from developer (always disconcerting when developer doesn't answer questions) but my impressions are: 1.  It doesn't appear possible to isolate and morph particular aspects of one image onto another 2.  Unsure 3.  Unsure 4.  No - the program will adjust the images (nice feature). Tutorials are rather cryptic, so it's hard to determine from experimentation how well this process works.  Unfortunately, I'll have to pass.

Louis H What is always disconcerting to me is when folks assume because someone does not answer their questions right away that therefore they are suspect of not being attentive to their customers.

It is my experience that Jerry is VERY attentive to his customers and while he may not be able to get back to someone as quickly as they would like him to, he WILL get back to them.

Great piece of software. Great price. And customer support to go with it.

Peter Dunston Like any software that's new it takes time to learn how it works properly and how to get the best from it. I bought Fanta Deluxe yesterday and I know I will struggle for a while but practice makes perfect so I plan to stick at it until I do get the results I want. Had a good go last night and managed two examples that I was quite pleased with, I want it better but only time and a little effort will get me there, great piece of software and the price thanks to yesterday's offer was fantastic. I also managed to do my own back-up copy to disc ok so saved another $20 there not having to buy Abrosoft's back-CD.

10/10 for me.

Emil Kucera Hello, this is advertised as Deluxe, but the website shows three different versions, with dLuxe the most expensive. Will the 14.95 actually buy me the deluxe (which of course would be a fantastic discount indeed) or just the SE? Or can one choose either of the three at 50% discount?

Louis H If you click on the Buy Now button, you are given your choice as to which version you wish to purchase - each at 50% off it's normal price. So the Deluxe would be $49.95 with this offer. If you really want the full power of this program you really do need the Deluxe version. I've been using this program for almost three years now and love it.

Henrik Safegaard @visitor Bare P

When i see an advertising 5 days before today and there is a picture Which point out it is the Deluxe version there will be for sale at 14,95 and of course at this time there is'nt any active buylink to say anything els, it is misinforming the costumer.

I,m sure it's the best software of it's kind on the market and they have great service and all, it hasn't nothing to do with that.

When you have kid's and say hey kid, next week you can get this for your week money and use hours seeing the great tutorials and explaining s, and then, they can't its not so funny anymore.
Maybe im the only one who see it that way.
Lets keep peace in this thread, i just wanted to point out that some people could get disappointed at that way of marketing.
Sorry for the interrupting in a great softwares appearance here.

Nico Westerdale Guys, sorry if you felt mislead here but we've tried to be pretty clear with our pricing and have used this model in the past. The promotion title does not say "Deluxe Edition" it's only mentioned in the text, and we did it that way to indicate that the Deluxe Edition was also available, assuming people would draw the conclusion that it would cost more. Also the retail price we list and advertised before is $29.95, the Deluxe Edition is $99.95 so if we were selling that at $14.95 it would have been 85% off.

All editions have the 50% discount, so it's still a great deal!

Glen Hilton Purchased V4 BDJ offer last year though no updates were forthcoming. Soon enough V5 arrived and also the upgrade cost.. The software is OK though updates and improvements appear to be very thin for any selected version..Separate upgrade prices for same version eg V4-V5 appear to be unlisted on the website. The BDJ offers here are fine though don't expect the following major version or much in the way updates..I shall not be paying another $49.95 for the V5 Deluxe upgrade.
May 3 2011 at 2:04pm Copy Link

Rick Truell Sorry, Nico. While you're correct that the promotion *title* does not say "Deluxe", the promotion *picture* does. Thus, people coming to the site are going to be under the impression that they can get Abrosoft FantaMorph Deluxe for $14.95, as evident from the fact that you now have 3 people telling you that that *is* the impression they got.

The retail and discount values you mention are nothing more than a red herring. There is nothing on the dashboard page to indicate that there are multiple versions of the program, and nothing to indicate that the retail/discount prices displayed do not apply to the product pictured in the promotion, the Deluxe version.

William Tattors is this the standard, pro or deluxe?
Apr 18 2012 at 8:35am Copy Link

Bruno Verschraegen @William Tattors

Attention William... The price is not for the Deluxe version. When you read through older comments, you will see that on previous occasions the offer applied to all 3 versions (the percentage discount, applied to the relevant amounts). When you look at the provider's website, you'll see that the stated retail price is for the standard version...

A previous reader already advised that the picture is misleading - and I agree.

I am very happy with Bits du Jour and have purchased many pieces of software through this site (mostly software which otherwise I would not have known about), but it should be made much clearer that either the picture is not for the featured price or that several versions are available. Either a caption with the picture or a clear reference in the text or in the features box… Yes, in the text the Deluxe version is mentioned specifically for a few of the features, but that only becomes truly clear once you know. If not fully spelled out, at least the current Deluxe references should say "Deluxe only", so that it is immediately obvious that there are other versions. But it would still lead to people needing to ask questions…

It is not unusual for vendors to highlight (in supermarket style) higher version pictures in combination with prices for lower version items, probably because it is believed this will attract more people. But undoubtedly many people feel somewhat "tricked" into a potential buy and are put off once they need to discover through their own effort - often only at the moment of placing the order - that they did not have the right feature/price mix in mind when they decided to buy. I think that sales information that removes the guesswork out of the equation in the end produces more and happier buyers. But that's just my opinion and, as said, I am very happy for BdJ to exist and having brought many great offers to my attention.

Louis Gedo I purchased the Deluxe version at full price and at full price it is worth the cost. At 50% off, I cannot see any reason to not take advantage of this deal. Having used the Deluxe and standard version both, I'm convinced that it would be a regret for anyone but the least creative people to not go for the Deluxe version at this price cut. I have no connection whatsoever to Abrosoft and I gain nothing monetarily from sharing my view here...I simply have years of experience with the company and the constantly developing product.

I would be grateful, did I not own this product, for testimony from long time users. Hopefully, with some other product from another developer some time in the future, someone like me will give testimony that would help me in making a decision in whether or not a product is worth buying based on real cutomer feedback.

Greg M I tried one other morphing program before this one (from Avanquest, I think). FantaMorph worked out much better for me.

I have had the deluxe version of FantaMorph for a few years (stared with V4, upgraded to V5) and it used to be very good; now it's great. The face finder wizard (in Deluxe only, I think) makes setting up morphs up really, really easy. Usually, with very little, or no manual tweaking, FantaMorp is able to figure out where the key elements of each face are in each picture. I am fairly computer savvy and found there is is a small learning curve for this software (less than 1 hour for me and I tend not to RTFM :) ).

J. Moreno I have the same question as sharon austin: is the standard version adequate for a beginner? Will I be able to make good morphs with the Standard version? Most people here seem to have bought the Deluxe, but that seems rather expensive, even at 50% off, especially when compared with the Standard Version. I looked at the comparison chart, but I don't know enough about morphing to know what is important that is not included in the Standard version. There are just a few hours left for the discount, and no one has answered sharon's question. I wish they would, since it's mine, too.

You can find the answer to the question "Which edition of FantaMorph is right for me" from our site at http://www.fantamorph.com/faq.html.
If you just want to make some simple morphs, SE is enough, while Pro and Deluxe provide more advanced features and more professional effects.

Michelle Bereza If I just want to morph photos into one single photo rather than an animation, is that possible?

Jerry Xie Hi Michelle,
Yes, you can use the Face Mixer tool within the FantaMorph Deluxe version to morph multiple photos into one single image.

rw greene Downloaded their 30-day trail from their web site. It only saved about 1/2 second of a 2 second morph. Since it doesn't work, , I saved my 15.00 by not buying this before testing.

Dennis Swords I am trying the free trial and the program locks up every time I try to scan through my picture file to import image 1. I've uninstalled and then reinstalled, but the same thing happens every time.

Jerry Xie Which version did you use? Windows or Mac? Did the problem occur only on your own pictures? You can try to load the built-in sample projects and see what happens.

Jim Ganw Does the standard version import/export transparent png files or is that a feature of the more expensive versions?

George Avery The deluxe version shown is $49.95 and not $14.95.

Jerry Xie Jim, the standard version doesn't support transparent morphs, just choose Pro or Deluxe instead.

George Butel Is this FantaMorph 5, or is this an earlier version? Your website shows FantaMorph being new, and it shows a different box for the physical software. It also shows compatibility with Win8, and what you show here goes up only to Win7.

George Avery Jerry - re "and the price of Deluxe is $49.95." - Yes that;s the point I was making. I see a logo for the deluxe version with a price of $14.95 here. I tried the demo on Win8 64bit and it worked fine. I was going to buy until I saw the $50 price tag. Wish I was still working and had a use for it. It looks good.

Jerry Xie George Butel, this is the latest version, the same as the one on our website.

Louis H This is an absolutely wonderful piece of software. If you are considering getting it, I highly recommend you consider going with the Deluxe version. Far more powerful than the standard version. Well worth the extra cash.

To the vendor.... if by chance you are around for today's discount - any hint as to when V6 may be coming out? I remember back in Sept on the forum you responded to someone that it was in progress but that since you all were rewriting it from the ground up, it may be awhile before it appears. As nice as V5 is, I'm very interested to see what you all bring forth when V6 is released!

Constantin Florea @Roberto, Our prices are in USD. They do not necessarily include taxes, which will vary by country. We do have a note about this in "The Fine Print" tab.

Roberto I know Constantin. Avantgate let switch to $ currency, because it seems to calculate the discount from there.

After this the taxes were added on the final price as normal.

The problem is in the conversion 99$ to 99€, and discounting 45 eur end not 49.

For the buyers, check the currency selector and all will go fine.

Doug Lietz I loaded the "older comments" to get a sense of how responsive the software creators are, in addressing questions. But... the dates of the conversation thread range from 2010 to 2015... nothing current. Is this software still being supported and developed? When was the last version update? Is there a change log showing when actual dates of when new features and bug fixes have have been rolled out? Looking forward to hearing from the developer of this product. The app looks pretty cool, and it is something I can see myself being able to put to good use.

Doug Lietz Thanks Chris

So, that last release date was a long time ago. Are you using the product yourself? Interested in hearing from others as well. Is it still stable and doing everything it claims to do, in the most recent Win10 environment?

TROY User That was my concern also. I reviewed their forums and the last forum response was in 2014! I like the software but I am afraid there will be no support. Are there any other morphing software you would recommend?

Doug Lietz Yikes ... 2014! Maybe BDJ can ping the company to get them to come in here and address our questions/concerns...

PS: I would be interested in hearing about alternative products in this space as well.

V M It sounds like this is dead software. I too would be interested in similar software that is current and does not date back to the prehistoric past..
