Software Guy FYI - this is a free offering of the pro edition which has quite a number of different features. But for home users I might point out that AOMEI also offers an always free home partition program which is great for that occasional resizing. Norm Sash Hi... A question about your policy for this promotion... The policy states it is licensed per computer, cannot be transfered, can only be installed on one computer, and only one installation per hardware footprint.

So, if I use this software to migrate my current system to another system (one of the usage scenarios for this software) that would imply that the software will no longer work on the new system because the hardware footprint is different and I can't activate the software. Is this correct? Thanks.

John Hagel Downloaded just fine and appears to have set up ok. Cannot find a link to get a license code, which seems to be required before the program will actually run. I may have missed something, but have gone back thru every step and cannot see any link that leads to a license code. Maybe a bright red button that says "Get your license code" is asking too much, but something simple would be good!

Had the same problem with a couple of other programs several months ago and since it was late in the evening thought maybe I got caught in the midnite changeovers. 12 hours left on the deal now, so that could not be the problem.

J S Well 'i' for one very much appreciate this deal and would like to thank both BitsDuJour and AOMEI Technology Co., Limited., as I still play at partitioning rather than just using an entire HDD for one partition.

PowerQuest's Partition Magic seems so long ago in the mists of time, but I presume that this program and most - if not all, other harddrive partitioning programs since then, is based on the work that PowerQuest Ltd. originally put in way back in the '90s.

tonglu1 Just like v4.0 offered 2 months ago, after installing this, I couldn't get it started. Every time I try to run it, I get the following message:

Watcher1924 Just like with version 4.0, when I try to run it, I only get a message (from the OS?) even if I have disabled the security program. If you translated it to English it would be something like this: "Application error. The application failed to get properly prepared (0xc0150004). Click on ok button to terminate the application." XP home editon sp2.

How do we have to make the on-line activation?

Thomas Edwards already have the 'paid for' edition - my query is that my 2nd computer has two OS's (vista and XP) which causes lots of trouble for me. I would like to delete one but retain all the associated files from that os.
a) is this possible with AOMEI?
b) which os should I keep?
c) will I need AOMEI on my 1st computer AND on the 2nd one?

BTW have NOT been able to contact 'Support' at AOMEI regardless of which method/website I have used!!!!

One copy of PA Pro is now available to be installed on two computers

Could you explain?

Probably not if you make a WinPE boot disk. The only problem is that that requires downloading the Microsoft AIK, which I believe is a 1.7GB file. :-(

BTW, many people have expressed the opinion that repartioning should only be done from an outside OS, never from the disk you're working on. I wish they'd make a version that created a small linux boot disk. Other companies do.

- try another browser like IE, Chrome, Firefox or Opera
- run Firefox in Safe Mode.
- temporarily disable your antivirus, anti-malware, ad-blocker, pop-up blocker software you have installed
- temporarily disable all browser add-ons/extensions

Mr Dave AOMEI's program looks good, might replace Paragon's Hard Disk Manager on my system. Thanks!

Main reason for this comment: the whole process from clicking "Get it for free" through checkout and download, worked on Firefox. First time in many weeks. I disabled the "Avast! Online Security" plugin yesterday, maybe that helped, but I'm sure I tried that before. Anyway, glad to see it works!

(Avast! plugin has started to act like malware, poping up "SafePrice" on my screen without warning or indication it's from Avast!, and no way to turn it off more than 24 hours at a time).

Kimmo Lahtinen @BitBucket Yes I have used WinPE-disk, but I do not like it very much as it is quite slow to boot (perhaps it is a bit faster with Win8). I too think it is a good idea to boot with stand-alone version if you partition your primary disk.

Just bought Pro with lifetime updates.

I've received the email with reg code which includes statement:-

You must install/register the software while the promotion is active, and cannot do so afterwards. Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key.

.Please clarify- a)
Software can be installed anytime- as 'install whilst promotion active' was not mentioned under the lifetime updates choice ( and I do not expect to install until Monday at the earliest)
b) the code supplied does in fact give lifetime updates.
c)Do I download the demo file from the website and then put in the code- there is no link to download in the email.

There is indeed an issue with our system in the sense that for the paid item, it currently sends in the receipt email, some of the conditions from The Fine Print. The conditions in The Fine Print tab are only available for the giveaway version.

We will address this issue with the highest priority.

The Lifetime version gives you access to Lifetime Upgrades for this product and you can install the application any time you wan to.

Tested Bits on TWO browsers - Firefox and Opera - same irksome result.

However the fact that you purchased a Lifetime license code, means you are entitled to have all future upgrades for this product, free of charge. When a new version will be available you will receive a notification by email so you may upgrade if you want to.

A digitally signed driver is required.
ampa.sys

Windows blocked the installation of a digitally unsigned driver. Uninstall the program or device that uses the driver and check the publisher's website for a digitally signed version of the driver.

I uninstalled, downloaded another copy and reinstalled as administrator. Same error. I'll now try uninstall, reboot, reinstall.
ampa.sys is one of the installed files.

I have a new install of Windows 10 64-bit.

'You can install/register the software at any time' yet the checkout and receipt says 'must be installed during promotion day', so which is it?

Quill Pen I could not find a way to register Partition Assistant either, and I went so far as to reboot to see if that made any difference. It didn't. Sergei mentioned that the DDM requires registration after rebooting, but didn't say if he found a way to register Partition Assistant. If registering is NOT required for PA, the vendor darn well ought to have said that!

Why is it so difficult for vendors (and all giveaway sites) to conform to a standardized install and register procedure? Make it PERFECTLY CLEAR --- in the README.TXT or in the "Fine Print" or at least buried in the HELP/FAQ files not just how their install files are bundled but how to REGISTER the program AND CONFIRM it IS registered. As Sergei pointed out, the 3 files are in the zip but a lot of newbies aren't familiar with how to EXTRACT from a zip file. Note that it requires admin rights, too.

FWIW, it installed fine, but as I have two other disk partition managers, I'll just uninstall it if a lack of registration converts it to standard. I don't need DDM at all.

AOMEI Technology All our customers purchased AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro will also get DDM Pro. So we bind it to the giveaway installer. The license key also be valid on DDM Pro. Some users may find no place to register Partition Assistant, skip this step and directly shows that have registered successfully. This issue maybe because you installed our software before, and the registration message remained in your computer. But it's OK, you could still use our software anyway.

Quill Pen Hi Sergei, hope you see this reply. We may have installed it on our older PC but not this one. Thanks to giveaways, we acquire and test run a lot of programs and only uninstall really awful ones. As we already use other partition programs it's becoming difficult to even remember all the names and brands of little and unused software! LOL We DID install AOMEI's Backerupper software to this new PC this spring as I recall, so perhaps that program's registration's hidden registry registration setting works here as well?

What's frustrating is that even though AOMEI responded with a slightly more detailed explanation, they STILL didn't say WHERE we should look to confirm it as being registered, only that we should "skip this step and directly shows that have registered successfully." It shows? REALLY?? Just because they may know where to look doesn't mean WE do! Just because they see something on their display doesn't mean we see the same thing (as they admit by referring to past installs.) This is what happens when programmers write documentation or answer questions. They assume too much because they're too familiar with the product.

As I suspect you already know, the typical places "registered" is found would be Help>About pop-up (nothing there) or a Help>Register (not visible.) Seriously, is it so difficult to display "Successfully Registered" somewhere obvious? There's an inch deep strip running across the entire top of their GUI (that is thankfully resizable, something we rate as a big positive along with the much appreciated User's Manual PDF) and about half of it is blank space. The pop-up About has a large free space area as well.

MBe I have bought lifetime licence.
But I get mail with registration information:
You must install/register the software while the promotion is active, and cannot do so afterwards. Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key.

Constantin Florea @M Be, The paid license with lifetime upgrades, can be installed any time and can be upgraded for free to any new version which is released for this product. The paid product comes with the same license conditions the vendor is using on the product site to sell the product.

I have also just contacted the vendor to help give more details on what the lifetime license offers.

Constantin Florea @Russell User, The lifetime license does not have any limitation in terms of upgrades or installation time-frame.

So the lifetime license can be registered any time and can be re-installed at a later date. I am not sure if a re-installation requires that the vendor to be contacted to reset the license.

I have just contacted the vendor to help clear your question in more detail.

first.

IF you change the system the whole license will expire forerver !

With the 2 PCs license you will get two lifetime installation as long as both PCs exist.

lifetime license means you can upgrade for free on THIS pc (not to move from one pc to another).

If you change the PC you have to buy again a new license.

@M Be @Mappi75 I know how you feel to ask simple legit questions and the vendor either avoids the answer for obvious reasons OR simply don't think it's worth bothering to check the conversation here. Both in this case equally bad.
And why equally, because BDJ in my book is an example of a bussiness run with passion. As we all can see now and in the past (if you are a true patron of this site)
Constantin and Niko are quick and honest to address the users concerns.

So, about AOMEI. I have several times (I believe once here too) asked these very same questions (also directly on AOMEI site) and wherever else I have seen their promoted software (Partition manager and Backupper) and NEVER EVER have they answered my very same questions. And NOWHERE in their site do they list even remotely what happens with the so called LIFETIME license once you either reformat your PC or buy a new one, as both of these things will be so eventually. So, I have avoided every time to push the purchase button for a lifetime license purchase. And not so because I am afraid to part with $10 per PC for their software BUT because I feel they are a little 'sneaky' if you know what I mean. I have outright purchased software that I know it does not come with a lifetime license but, I have done it because I felt the developer/vendor was 100% honest at what they wanted me to buy.
But AOMEI......mmmm I don't think so. Just my 2 cents and my experience with them.

I can't find anywhere this restriction befor i buy a license.

Update on my case.
1- I received an email from Constantin confirming my order to AOMEI. Thank you.
2- Received an email from AOMEI with attachment. They wanted me to replace the cfg.ini file with the attachment in the installation file. No new working License code were given. I refused as I see no reason to do that since I had bought a valid AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro Edition + Free Lifetime Upgrade (2 PCs) v6.3
3- Received a second email from AOMEI giving me a temporarily license. I cannot understand how complicated it is to give your customer what he or she has paid for. Why a temporary?
(AOMEI had been polite through all their correspondence but no real help)

To people who are worried how to transfer their new AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro Edition + Free Lifetime Upgrade License when they change their computer. Do NOT be worried because it won’t even work on your existing computer!

For the record/Attention: To new people who have come to BitsDuJour and reading the above posts. For many years, I have bought my softwares from BitsDuJour (mostly more expensive than this offer). I had never ever had a problem before with BitsDuJour nor with any of their software vendors. Therefore, I never had a reason to post anything on their site. In fact, still after several years when I still contact the software vendors that I have bought my software from them on BitsDuJour regarding my Lifetime License they sent me a new one without any hassle. Thanks.

And to be sure I will continue buying through BitsDuJour. Hopefully AOMIEI will remain an oddity and not the norm.

To AOMEI: You are at best disorganized and worst very dishonest.

To BitsDuJour: Is it worth it to create problems for your customers by working with AOMEI? Just look above and see how many people have had problems with AMOIE License Code.

My problem is the registration for the copy I purchased states: "You must install/register the software while the promotion is active, and cannot do so afterwards. Our system does send that license policy in the receipt email for all purchase items present the promotion page but that is a bug.

mike User Just to follow up on my previous comment and to add to the comments about LIFETIME license. They sell you one but they don't really give you one.
You get ONE activation code to use either on 2 machines ONCE OR TWICE on ONE machine. LIFETIME ENDS WHEN YOUR HARDWARE CHANGES FOR WHATEVER REASON. They are not forthcoming with these details and you have to ask repeatedly to find out. That to me is DECEPTIVE. They should make these details easily available to buyers so that they can make informed decisions. We all know that the chances are high that either hardware will fail or that windows will need reinstall for one reason or another. I know of other software vendors that they have a way for the user to remove/uninstall a license from their machine and then reinstall on another. In either case I don't see AOMEI as using honest sales tactics. So, no sale for me.

Been following the comments this past couple of days ...
Very eye opening!
I was rather a fan of Aomei, emphasis in 'was'. Often recommended it to others.

I purchased Backupper, paid EXTRA for the 'Lifetime' option. Aha!
Now I find it means NOTHING!
And during these 3 days, the company hasn't bother once to comment or respond to the various queries from either new or previous customers.
Without the help of Constantin we would be totally lost. It's really appreciated !!! :)

It's hard to build a good reputation, but that can be lost quickly when we see the company can't be bothered to assist their customers w basic answers.
I think Aomei is teetering closely to losing all the good will they had, by using these shady practices.
Since when did 'Lifetime Licence' meant anything else but lifetime of the *product*.
First time EVER I see it to mean the life cycle of one's hardware ...
A rather creative *interpretation* of established rules, making we think we are buying something, while they are selling something different. Nice!!

By being so ridiculously restrictive in their policy, people will just move on to other more reliable companies.
I mean, it's not like partitioners & backup progs, free or paid, from good to excellent don't abound, right??!!!
This whole thing is just so very disappointing !!

I want to thank BdJ & *ALL* the Bitsers [is this a name? ;) ] that took the time to exchange information & help others. At least now we know what we are dealing with, and wont fall for it again.

Alan G I try to install the PAssist_Pro and it show that I have AOMEI Partion Assistant Installed and when I click on yes, it showed that the file is on my computer and asked if I want to uninstall it, I click on yes, once I did click on yes, It said the file is corrupt and nothing happens. I try to uninstall it a few different ways even used an unistaller and it is still on my computer so this software is useless. I will never try, even try to buy a software from this company. This old software that is useless is stuck on my computer unless I reformat my computer and I will not do that.

Barry Gilbert Been using PA Pro for awhile and recently upgraded to V6.6 with exFAT support, bootable media support for Legacy or UEFI BIOS (key addition), and eliminated restriction to resize or move the Win 10 boot partition (which I don’t do). Since I preform an Acronis disk image backup at least once every week, I used the program to eliminate the Win 10 recovery partition and utilized the extra space. Works well with my SSD and I periodically run partition checks. Can’t beat the free V6.6.

Colin Faulkner Just purchased the 'Give Away' version and paid $19.98 for the 2 PC Life time upgrade version.
Only received one key - which looks just like the 'Give Away' one - when activated doesn't say anything about it being 'lifetime'.....
Somethings wrong here - the receipt has the same download link for both!
Maybe try it again tomorrow (after 'Give Away' has expired - see if it still activates.
Any one help? otherwise I'll have to ask for a refund....??

Jim Ranson I was tempted to buy the "Free Lifetime Upgrade (2 PCs) " mentioned for the $19.95 US however after reading the fine print it seems that once this software is installed on 2 computers that is it. It can not be uninstalled from one or both computers down the road and installed on new computers. The upgrades are keyed for eternity to those 2 initall computers where the software is installed. Is my reading on this correct?

Jim Ranson Fredrick It is a good thing I did not spend the $19 US ($25 CDN( for the software. I can see this for free software but paid software is another thing. The lifetime is then the life of the computer. Once the computers become unusable so do your licenses.

Bjarne Dein This sounds like a fine offer, but as some has already pointed out, there are some quite tough limitations connected (as the fine print says), which you on the other hand somehow confirm (above) can handled by your support (licensed to a specific computer).
I'd like to get this offer, but as others, I can't live with Lifetime license bound to a given computer, that will die before the SW (hopefully), why I need a clear statement from AOMEI, and an update on the fine print, that will make it sound and clear that a LIFETIME license can be moved to another computer, whenever requested.
In other words the LIFETIME license has to follow the man, NOT the computer.

D Taylor I purchased 3 Backupper Pro & 1 Partition Assistant Pro licesnes back in 2014. Since that time, I've replace several hard drives and purchased a few new computers. A simple email to AOMEI support asking them to reset my license has always received a quick response and I've been able to easily re-install my license on my new computer/hard drive.

It's been quick and easy unlike other companies that I've dealt with. As a matter of fact, I'm getting ready to upgrade a couple of hard drives soon and will be contacting them to reset my licenses again.

I can tell you from past experience that I've never had a problem with moving a license to another computer or re-activating after a hard drive upgrade.

By the way, I highly recommend purchasing the Pro WITH lifetime upgrades as you really can't beat the 2 PC installs for 1 license at this price with LIFETIME UPGRADES!

Randy User This is an excellent product that compares favorably with competitors like MiniTool Partition Wizard; NIUBI Partition Editor; Macrorit Disk Partition Expert; EaseUS Partition Master (home and pro); etc. I've found it helps to have several of these excellent partition management apps - sometimes one has features the other lacks, and vice versa. But this AOMEI product is as good as they get, IMHO.

Lito After reading the fine print, I cannot transfer the license to a new PC, but what constitutes a new PC? I ask because I plan on upgrading my CPU to a different one since it will be just a chip swap, will that invalidate the license if I buy it? I have also had some weird issues pop up with every "major" win 10 upgrade where some programs lose their registration and I have to re-register them so do OS upgrades count towards a new PC?

Gr3gw I use the free version and really like it. The licence transfer issue has always put me off buying the Pro version.This is a case of self-protection harming the legitimate and faithful user. As Lito says, What if I'm planning to buy a replacement computer in the near future. The non-transfer rule will mean I have only one licence left after upgrading the computer. And if that is stolen and I have to get another replacement, I'll have no licences. What would be the point of a 'Life-time' licence. Whose life are we talking about.

I really hope AOMEI review their software protection scheme and adopt one that is fairer to legitimate users.

I also tried the pro version of the backup solluction and it’s working wel done ! Only i mention some outgoing phone home connections on the Firewall outgoing. I gues for checking licensenses or some telemetry ?

Macrium does it also but that’s to enable the image gaurdian protection option (or sell your data who knows...)

Maybe a developer can tell it. Just courious.

Dennis McKay I bought the Pro Edition with Lifetime Upgrades but the notice I got from BitsDuJour with my license states the following:

You must install/register the software while the promotion is active, and cannot do so afterwards. Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key.

The reason you saw that message in the receipt email is because our system puts the license policy (which is associated only to the first/giveaway item) into the receipt emails it sends for all the purchasing items in the promotion.

BitBucket It won't install on Windows 7 Pro. I previously had version 6.6 which was uninstalled at the installer's request.

The installer stops half way saying it can't copy a file to where a file of that name already exists, without saying what the errant file is. If I press Ignore the install continues but at the end the program says it can't load a driver.

Dunking It's not often I mess with partitions, but when I do I want a reliable solution. This program looks good and I would normally give it a whirl and then go for the lifetime license. But...

One install on a PC and only two PCs? Half the reason for using something like this is to set up a replacement PC, so that's the single install gone. What if I upgrade Windows? How do I partition a new disk when my current one dies? And during what would be a stressful process I have to kindly ask the vendor if he will please reset my install license?

Sorry, but particularly for something that's involved in disaster recovery, dicking around with online activation and especially limited installs is not the way to an early tea break. Lost an easy sale here.

Dunking Thanks, Constantin. I just fail to understand how a lifetime license can be useful when it's limited to the specific hardware (in fact, just part of the hardware) it's installed on. Do they think disks never die and OS's never get upgraded? (Rhetorical question!).

I note in earlier posts that the vendor says they 'could' reset the installation count if a purchaser contacts them (with a reasonable request). Unfortunately, 'could' isn't worth the screen space it's typed on and one would have to be quite foolish to rely on that. Either they will or won't, and that should be explicitly part of the contract.

Kyle user I had forgotten the functionality included in the Pro version. This is a versatile app that does more than just help with partitioning.

The App mover and the migrate OS to SSD are very useful - I upgrade win10 from a 500GB to a 1T SSD and the migration went smoothly - I had tried it previously with another backup/migration tool that failed because of the EFI partition clone.

John User I was able to get it downloaded, installed and registered. However,

It did not play well with my AV software which I had to disable throughout the download process.

Also, minor, but something I don't care for is the program like a few others just installed to my C drive - my SSD that is short on space. I would have preferred an option on the installation location.

Other than these, once you get it going, it is a very good program IMO.

Then Installed that.
You can then register with this installed version moving from demo\trial to registered.

Askalick As mentioned above, I pasted the link in EDGE and it attempted to respond. However, a message said that it cannot be downloaded securely. I clicked the 3 dots at the side and selected Keep but then got this message -

"This file can't be downloaded securely.
Malicious attackers might be able to read or change insecurely downloaded files."

I then selected Keep Anyway and it has downloaded.
It is now successfully installed and registered.

jckinswo I'm most always in the State of Confusion and now I have something else to add to the collection. In looking at this wonderful deal, I happened to notice on mine, a link in the lower left corner near the big green "Get this Deal" link that says "Send Receipt". Ooooh, a mystery but it wasn't solved when I clicked on it. It just gave me wonderful historical information about that purchase. What am I missing?

First time I've seen it, or at least paid attention, and today I have two, one for this promo and and one for HDS Pro. I have not been able to find anything on the site or in the Community that explains what sending it does for me (if anything) or where I'm supposed to send it or when and what to expect. Ha! The AOMI receipt is from 2014. Since the offer(s) end(s) in 18hrs, and I may be asleep during part of that, I figured I should start early. I'll be xposting over in HDS later if this stays as blank as my brain.

Mike S 4 hours into this giveaway offer, the license/license registration is not working. BitsDuJour/AOMEI, please fix and provide a valid license registration code?

Currently, the software installs fine. But when the license registration is attempted using the license provided by BitsDuJour in its giveaway offer email, the following pop-up message is received:

"Oops! Registration Failed

Your license code is "Current Version", which is only valid for the versions previous to 9.6.0. It cannot be used to register the version 9.12.0. You can download and install the latest registrable version to continue using."

And when the pop-up message's link to the software's latest registrable version is used and that software is downloaded and installed, the license code works but the software version is earlier version 9.5, not the current version in the giveaway offer, version 9.12.

Uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling the software doesn't help (to get version 9.12 registered), and using AOMEI's offline registration system doesn't work either.

Bimal K hi downloaded the exe from the email received after cart checkout ... it was v9.12 ... license did not allow to apply the supplied code .. took me to website with download v9.5 ... but promo states v9.10, so visited the vendor website directly to download the v9.10 but see only the change logs for older versions ... not able to download the v9.10 install file ... could you guide

Johanos Great! The download gives you Version 9.12.0 (not the advertised 9.10.0).
(True Edge, Chrome still won't download from BDJ.)
The email with the code arrived pretty fast. Installation went ok.

Registration was a BUMMER!

The given code seems to be only valid for versions before 9.6.0?
What the heck...

I had a working 9.6.0 from a previous give away. Now I have nothing.

I the downloaded the "latest registrable version" from the link on the error message and installed it, but the installation failed with the message "Registration Failed! Your license code is not under validity period." This is exactly what happened the last time you offered this software, as the earlier comments show. PLEASE FIX THIS, it's gotten ridiculous.

Sarsfield Downloaded and installed but I get this message when entering the license code:

Peter User Can not register the version. Promotion is still valid for 18 hours. Have also received a key. Your Downlaodlink laedt but already the Versin 9.12. When registering then comes an error message that the key is not valid for the 9.12. Have me network then a V9.10 procured. But also here comes an error message during registration. What is this? I am annoyed!

Jerry Voletto Apparently this version of Partition Assistant is less than v12. The registration code is for v6. I deleted the version I had on my computer. Now I don't know what version I had! And, I can't use the registration code to activate it. What's going on?
Since it can onlty be installed today, I am wasting time trying to get this program installed without the right version and right code for the version being offered.

Constantin Florea I am sorry about the issue with the registration information for this product. In the case of this promotion we have set it up at the very beginning of October which is unusual because we usually set up promotions within the week prior to the promotion date especially to prevent cases (like this) where we have the promotion set up for a specific version while a new version of the application is released until promotion date.

We have contacted the vendor a few days prior to the promotion date asking them to confirm that the registration information and the installer are the correct ones to use, but so far we haven't received a reply back.

We have also contacted the vendor today asking them to help fix this issue.

Mike S @ Constantin Florea: Thank you for looking into this license issue and working to fix it, and for the update here. As others have said here, AOMEI seems to make nice products, but these license/registration issues (here and with AOMEI Backupper Pro this past week as well) are frustrating and waste hours, and make one question AOMEI and these offers generally (which no one wants). Sigh. Hopefully, a fix will be forthcoming.

Important, a report on one last issue (I don't know if this is unique to me, or might affect others): still having the software version (v. 9.5) from the install from earlier today installed on my laptop, I reapplied/re-installed the software that I had downloaded from the original offer receipt email link from earlier today, and applied the license code from the original offer receipt email--and again ended up with v. 9.5. And so I thought to start from scratch: I uninstalled the software completely, rebooted my laptop, *re-downloaded the software using the link in the original offer receipt email*, installed the software, and applied the original license code--and voilà, v. 9.12 of the software successfully installed! :) I suspect that for those of us who had downloaded the software earlier when the system still was broken, it is necessary to re-download the software, to get a newer version--the version that I re-downloaded is different in size from what I had downloaded earlier (33,932 KB vs. 28,723 KB), and the Windows properties details tab says that the current download is v. 9.12 while the earlier is v. 9.5.

I guess that the silver lining in this all is that we now get v. 9.12 of the software (which apparently just came out yesterday, according to the AOMEI changelog), rather than v. 9.10.

Mike S @ Philip User: It may be because the software is so new (the latest version only came out yesterday) and the browsers don't yet have security statistics on it, and so are afraid to allow the download as possibly being unsafe. With Microsoft Edge (I assume that's what you mean by Bing) there is an option under the downloads feature to "keep" the software anyway (in other words, to countermand the system's refusal to download)--that option may be hidden under the "more actions" option.

Google Chrome & MS Edge (I assume that's what you mean) are the same base code, so what doesn't work in one will likely do the same in the other.

And yes, I am having issues downloading this as well in Google Chrome,,, For some reason it tries to open the download window then promptly closes it and doesn't download the file.

Can I suggest trying one of these for this offering?
Firefox, Brave, or Vivaldi. Opera might work OK, too.

I was able to download it with no issues in Brave, and have tried some downloads here in the past with Firefox & Vivaldi with no problems, so try another browser to download this.

I don't know why, but this is something of an intermittent issue on BDJ with some files failing and others working, so guessing it's a glitch copied by one of the site programmers, and others use somewhat different Java (or whatever), which works correctly.

Mike S Just a word of compliments:

Using Partition Assistant Pro's "Find Large Files" utility (under the Tools menus), I was able to track down and delete almost 8GB of files that Dropbox has been, and continues to be, installing on my laptop, even though I never installed Dropbox on my laptop (it was there originally, although I never opted in for it). This space loss has been driving me crazy, as it has been eating away at my available (and tight) storage space for many months, now.

Adam P I had problems with the download as well. What worked for me was copying the link from here in "Your download will start in a moment.
If you do not see it click here" and pasting it into a new tab. Then it worked. (Chrome).

Also, the version at the top says this is 9.12, but the download is 9.15, which is the current version.

jman Downloaded and installed without issue on an external WD Passport drive. I am using Win10HomeX64 and it works fine to resize a partition. I have not tried any function beyond that as of yet. FYI, the above states version 9.12 but 9.15 is what I received.

Randy User To everyone: RENAME the file "unconfirmed 87918.crdownload" to something with a (.exe) extension and I believe it will work. Like, rename that to "Setup.exe", then run that and it should work. Windows by default hides known extensions so that when you rename the file, it will appear as 'Setup'; with the famiilar "AOMEI Partition Assistant" icon.

Richard User D/L worked for me just now. Had to right click the *if it didn't work* box and *save link as*... This is a VERY common problem here (only). Note: Due to the security settings, I has to click on the allow button before? the D/L started.

Constantin Florea I am sorry about the issue with the registration code. I have already contacted the vendor about this asking them to help. They are usually quick to reply to our requests so I believe they should reply tomorrow 9th of March 2023 and help fix this issue.

Steven Trott I used a different application after my hard drive inadvertently converted itself to unallocated space, and found the partitions. however, Windows will not read the partitions and claims that they need to be reformatted. I know the data is still there in the partitions because I tested with other recovery software which verified that the content and the directory structure is there, but Windows just won't read the content of the partitions. Will this software make the content of those partitions readable?
