Ashley Jones I think Presentation3D used to produce multimedia and interactive presentations is a good software, I would consider using.

Bxxxx Oxxxx I downloaded it, but couldn't generate the most important output format: Flash. The website says something about "ffdshow"

Aurora3D Software That mean you can export the presentation as video, use the ffdshow
encoder.
You also can export the presentation as a EXE file.

Robert Reese Many other less expensive Flash generators can do the same thing. Flash is by nature an interactive 3D environment, controlled by Action Scripts and configured via XML. What sets your software apart (other than the highly restrictive licensing) from those less expensive alternatives?

By the way, please don't forget to tell everyone that your license does not apply to FFDSHOW, which, ironically, has an open license.

Robert Reese NOT Flash? Now you have my attention - and I see what I was missing was that this is an executable software that can export to Flash rather than simply being Flash wrapped in an EXE shell, right? And thank you for making it clear that FFDSHOW isn't part of your software... I'd hate to think of people believing that FFDSHOW has licensing restrictions.

I just downloaded a couple of demonstrations, and, done correctly, the presentations are indeed impressive.

I can see this working very well in a kiosk.

Do you plan to have tablet export, or Linux support?

I'll keep an eye on your product; I have a feeling that the next time it's offered here I might get it, especially knowing it isn't Flash-based after all. The biggest hitch now is your licensing. If it is friendlier, I'll buy your software without further question.

Right, this is not a wrapped flash in to a EXE. Flash is not yet render complex 3D models.
You can use it to create your own 3D interactive program.Quickly design business presentation, touch screen Interactive presentation, 3D product Show, etc.

Andrew Griffiths Everyone's perspective is, of course, different but I'd like to convey why I'm passing on this deal. Perhaps it will be helpful to BitsduJour and the vendor.

1. It's not crystal clear to me that we would use this in our business. This is often the case with BitsduJour deals and is not necessarily an obstacle to purchase in itself.
2. However this software is quite expensive. Again, not in itself an impediment but the price means it cannot be a "throwaway."
3.In favor of this vendor is a 30 day return policy.
4. The people in my company who could evaluate this software for me do not work on the weekends. In theory I could have asked someone earlier in the week to evaluate but I need much more notice than I'm currently getting from BitsDuJour of pending software . We have a business to run so the amount of time we have to play around with software is very limited.
5. However, the real killer on this deal for me is the measly discount (only 35%). If I assume that the odds that we will NOT use the software are 2 out of 3 (i.e. only 33% chance we would use it), why fork out $100 now to save $50 later? Too much hassle for the potential gain.

In practice, this means that we will never consider this software unless we think of a specific need. This is unlikely to happen because of the chicken-and-egg situation. Until I've had someone competent evaluate the software, we won’t know what we can do with it. The fact that I've passed on this deal means that I won’t have the post-purchase incentive to assign someone to evaluate the software within the 30-day return window. So no sale.

It's perhaps interesting to contrast the Aurora deal with the other similarly priced deal today that also attracted me - the Balanced Scorecard Designer Standard. This software is selling at a whopping 70% discount from its list price of $270. However, again from my perspective only, they are making the other error - no return is allowed.

I can understand the reluctance of vendors to both discount heavily and provide liberal return policies. But unless the discounted price is low or the usage of the product is very clear-cut (e.g. a utility), I need both to propel me to purchase. I suggest that for products that are still expensive after discount and where the product's target market within the BitsduJour member list is likely to be narrow, return polices on BitsduJour need to be MORE liberal than on the vendor's own site because off-the-cuff purchasers like me are taking a larger risk. I don’t know the exact percentage of BitsduJour that we regularly use post-purchase but my guess that it's less than 50%.
